RUSH: Ty in Woodbridge, Virginia, welcome to the EIB Network, sir. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Mega dittos, Maha Rushie.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I was just calling to sound the alarm on the election in Virginia for governor being just like the election for Obama for president.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, how?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, in Virginia, they\u2019re trying to raise our taxes as much as they can, as quickly as they can. We\u2019re one of the only viable states left in the country, and they\u2019re gonna come in and raise our taxes just as much as they\u2019re trying to do to everybody else in the nation. I went to a —<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: Wait a minute. Obama promised to only raise taxes on the rich. You say they\u2019re rerunning the Obama campaign. You mean you\u2019ve got a governor who\u2019s gonna redo Obama\u2019s policies?<\/line><\/p>\n

CALLER: No, they\u2019re going to continue to do Obama\u2019s policies. We had Obama One with Warner. We had Obama Two with Kaine, and now Obama Three — now that Obama is in office — is what we\u2019ll have with the next Democrat. They\u2019ve incrementally raised our taxes. Warner was like the first, the highest tax increaser in tax history. Kaine tried to get it passed, but the recession and all the economy hitting the tanks luckily hit first before he had a chance to do that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I have a sound bite here. James Carville on CNN this morning said that this Virginia governor\u2019s race is ‘the Democrat versus Rush Limbaugh.\u2019 James Carville said that. I\u2019ll play the sound bite for you when we come back.<\/line> <\/line>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: This is on CNN this morning, John Roberts, the cohost, was speaking with James Carville about the Virginia governor\u2019s race. And John Roberts said, ‘What happened to Terry McAuliffe?\u2019 He got blown out, by the way, in the primary. The Punk lost. ‘[A]nd the fact that Creigh Deeds lost to Robert McDonnell back in 2005 and they were battling each other for AG, attorney general, what does that say about the Democrats\u2019 potential to hang onto the commonwealth come the governor\u2019s election?\u2019<\/p>\n

CARVILLE: It\u2019s a classic matchup, uhhh, because Deeds, a kind of a Virginia Democrat, and McDonnell is a Pat Robertson-Rush Limbaugh Republican, and it\u2019s gonna be — we\u2019re gonna see what happens when this thing comes down the stretch.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, so Deeds is a Virginia Democrat versus me, according to James Carville. This is actually the Republicans versus James Carville in Virginia if you want to know the truth about that race. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Ted in Virginia Beach, you\u2019re next on the EIB Network. Hello, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi.<\/p>\n

RUSH: How you doing, sir?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Good. Nice to speak with you, Rush. I really think that it\u2019s going to be a referendum here in Virginia. I\u2019m from Virginia. And I believe that Bob McDonnell is going to wipe Creigh Deeds, he\u2019s going to win by double digits.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Meaning that there\u2019s going to be a referendum on Obamaism and that the Democrats are going to lose big?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Absolutely.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Based on what? Are you just hoping?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, yeah. But no, really, as I\u2019ve been watching the news and, you know, Bob McDonnell beat Creigh Deeds in the last attorney general race by a slight margin, but the way things are going, you know, and with taxes being raised and with the other guy that was from Virginia talking about —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, but, you know, the whole problem, Virginia is the northern part of the state, everybody works for government, everybody works for Washington, everybody is an Obamaite, everybody is a Democrat. Virginia is on the cusp here, well maybe past the cusp. For what you say to happen, the turnout outside of northern Virginia is going to have to be close to record, and you\u2019re going to have to have some defections in northern Virginia, people that don\u2019t like what\u2019s happening with the federal level and don\u2019t want to see it replicated in Virginia. It will be interesting to see, but it\u2019s going to depend on how that campaign is run. It\u2019s going to depend on how the Republican runs the campaign. And we won\u2019t know \u2019til it actually starts.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, at least Terry McAuliffe didn\u2019t win, so that was good news.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, I know, I took about a second\u2019s pleasure out of that but then I said to myself, ‘I have not gotten so low that The Punk losing an election makes me happy.\u2019 If I get to the point where The Punk losing an election while the country is being destroyed makes me happy then you can take me away. Go get Ted from Miami to come in here and host the program and I\u2019ll get out of your way. You know, the thing about truth, people who don\u2019t like the truth, like Ted and that other guy that you found, Snerdley, people who don\u2019t like the truth consider the truth to be hate. They consider the truth to be hate speech, people who don\u2019t like the truth, people who are enmeshed in political correctness and don\u2019t like the truth.
