CALLER: Well, I just wanted to call, and I — I listen from time to time, and I wanted to call and ask you based on your characterization of Letterman\u2019s comments how do you view what you do every day to the Democratic leaders and whatnot with the same kind of comments? How are you different than Letterman? So aren\u2019t you pathetic as well?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uhhhhhh, give me an example of something I\u2019ve done that is related or similar to Letterman calling Sarah Palin ‘slutty\u2019 and saying her daughter has been ‘knocked up\u2019 at Yankee Stadium by Alex Rodriguez while hitting a home run?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Do you listen to your own shown or maybe you — I dunno.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You say you listen to it, so you tell me.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You tell meeeee! The Kennedys, Clinton, all the… You can\u2019t think of one thing? Hair plugs for Biden!<\/p>\n

RUSH: I don\u2019t have to think of anything. You\u2019re the one making the charge. I stand behind everything I say. I love hearing myself say what I say, and I say it because it\u2019s right. By the way, do you know…? Hey, Ted before I let you go here, do you know —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, before you hang up you mean?<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, I don\u2019t hang up on people.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, well, you start giving, ‘How are you?\u2019 <\/p>\n

RUSH: Ted?<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s so lame!<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ted?<\/p>\n

CALLER: And then that\u2019s how you win!<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ted, dial it back, buddy. Dial it back. I didn\u2019t get much sleep last night. I got little patience for pea brains like you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Give me another similarity between God and Barry Obama.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I — I — See — here you go right now.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Another similarity. Give me another similarity between Barack Obama and God.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Don\u2019t know.<\/p>\n

RUSH: ‘Obama gets better media.\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: You want to run through these again? Here we go. What Obama and God have in common: God doesn\u2019t have a birth certificate, either. A way that God and Obama differ: God does not think that he is Obama. Another difference between God and Obama is that liberals love Obama. And another difference is that Obama gets better press. CALLER: Rush, I have a question. I\u2019m an independent. I\u2019m not either side, but I listen to your show, uhh, once in a while when I\u2019m driving, and I — I — I just — I — I just wonder. I mean, when you wake up in the morning, you look in the mirror, do you throw kisses at yourself? I mean you — you — you sound like you\u2019re in love with yourself.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I do love myself.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, but — but — you\u2019re — you\u2019re ridiculous the way you go about things, and you — you act like —<\/p>\n

RUSH: I think it\u2019s healthy —<\/p>\n

CALLER: — you\u2019re so good.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No — now, wait a minute, Joe.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah?<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s very healthy to love yourself. If you don\u2019t love yourself, nobody else is going to.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, but — no, no, no, not the way you — you just wish —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, what am I supposed to do? You asked me if I love myself. I\u2019m answering the question, and now say, ‘No, no, no, that\u2019s not what you mean.\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: You\u2019re in love with yourself. You wish you had a body in front of you and you\u2019d probably do it. I mean —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Are you asking me, Joe, if I make love to myself?<\/p>\n

CALLER: (chuckling) I\u2019m sure you do.<\/p>\n

CALLER: My question, my question for you is very simple: Why are you so (pause) hateful? Why do you — that\u2019s all you do, spew, spew, spew. Why can\u2019t you just live and let live? I mean, you act like —<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s an interesting question. It\u2019s an interesting question.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Do — do you think Ted Kennedy is hateful in what he said about Robert Bork?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I — I — I — I\u2019m talking about you right now.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, no, because, I — I don\u2019t — I don\u2019t think I\u2019m hateful at all.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I listen to you. I listen to your show.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m not talking about Kennedy. I\u2019m talking to you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes, I know, and I\u2019m answering your question. I\u2019m not hateful. I don\u2019t say one hateful thing about anybody. I love everybody. I only want the best for everybody in this country.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, but the way you talked about everybody else, you —<\/line> <\/line> RUSH: Okay, give me an example of my hatefulness.<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: The way you talk about Obama is God. You\u2019re acting like you\u2019re God. You\u2019re acting like you\u2019re so better than everybody else, but — but — but you don\u2019t —<\/line> <\/line> RUSH: Well, I am better than most people, but I don\u2019t —<\/line> <\/line> CALLER: — you — you — you — Your voice doesn\u2019t get Republicans elected. You — you — you — you — you lis- — people listen to you but nothing happens!<\/line> <\/line> RUSH: You\u2019re starting to stutter on me out there, Joe. You need to dial it back here. I am better than most people, but I don\u2019t think I\u2019m God. Obama does.<\/line> <\/line> CALLER: No, Obama doesn\u2019t say it. You say it.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Obama\u2019s got a messianic complex. He does.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, no. You say that he\u2019s God. He\u2019s not God, but you act like you\u2019re God.<\/p>\n

RUSH: By the way, I don\u2019t hate President Obama at all. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, you do. You know you do.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Joe, you must be a hateful person. You have to hate in order to be able to recognize hate, Joe.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, but you know, you don\u2019t have to. He\u2019s a human being just like — and he\u2019s trying to do —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let me ask you something, Joe.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Whatever I have said about President Obama pales in comparison to the —<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s about — about anybody that you say anything against.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Joe —<\/p>\n

CALLER: You — you — and here you are, you\u2019re pushing for Sarah Palin, who\u2019s a total joke.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m going to do a Contessa Brewer — cut his mike for a minute. Joe, you\u2019ve made me have to emulate Contessa Brewer. Do you not realize what a professional come-down this is for me? Now I really don\u2019t like myself now, Joe, because I had to pull a trick that they use on MSNBC. I did cut your, mike, Joe. Nobody can hear you. Now, I don\u2019t hate anybody. I criticize Obama, and I\u2019m one of the few who does, and that\u2019s what outrages you. But let me tell you something. If you want to find hate in American politics, go to the party you probably vote for. That\u2019s the Democrat Party. Eight years of unadulterated drivel, outraged hate aimed at George W. Bush. We had to hear about books written on his assassination. We had to hear about movies that were produced and shown in Canada about the assassination of George W. Bush — and it went downhill from there. Nothing of the sort ever happens on this program. You need to man up out there, Joe. You need to be able to handle a little criticism of your god, of your messiah, because he\u2019s not what you think he is. My comments on Obama are based on love: love of this country, love of my job, love for the opportunity that I have each and every day to come in here and do this. No program would be as successful as mine for as long as it\u2019s been if it were based on hate. So you need to man up, Joe. Bring his mike back if he\u2019s still there. Joe, you still there? <\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m still here. I\u2019m listening to you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right. Okay, go ahead and respond.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Now, now, you — you — okay, my response to you is very simple. Obama\u2019s not my God. My God is Jesus Christ upstairs. I\u2019m a Christian. Okay? Obama\u2019s not my God. But we have — what — what we going through expense the Republicans and George Bush, okay?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Obama — <\/p>\n

CALLER: Hold on.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Obama gets better media coverage than Jesus got. Did you know that?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Now, I — I cannot cut your mike because you don\u2019t let me talk. Now, let me talk. I listened to you because you cut my mike.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay, cut my mike. Cut — cut — cut my mike. Cut my mike, and let Joe have it. Go ahead, Joe.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, I don\u2019t. I just want to hear why you are being… You\u2019re — you\u2019re pushing Sarah Palin, who is a total joke. This — this girl is… She\u2019s like a cheerleader for the Republican Party. She will never be unelected. (sic) You got — you got Gingrich.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Joe, Joe —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Romney is the only person that is good.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Joe.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hold on!<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m sorry. I can\u2019t abide this anymore. You want to excuse me of hate and say what Letterman said about Palin is just a joke. (sigh) Joe, you\u2019re what\u2019s wrong with Miami.<\/p>\n
