RUSH: Did King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, did he grow six inches in the past year, six months? Well, the last time Obama met King Abdullah he bowed down and the White House says, no, he wasn\u2019t bowing down, the king is so much shorter than President Obama. We were told Obama was much taller, was not bowing, just adjusting and accommodating their height differences. This meeting Obama did not bow, and maybe that\u2019s it, maybe the king was wearing the lifts that have been popularized by Kim Jong-il but the king was a lot taller this time, like six inches. I don\u2019t know what\u2019s in the sand over there that might have caused six inches of growth in the Saudi king since the last meeting. <\/p>\n

Folks, this is an incredible news day today. The stuff that happened overnight and this morning is unbelievable. Here\u2019s audio sound bite number one. This is the best version of it we\u2019ve got. This is, I guess, Monday. President Obama interviewed by French TV. You\u2019re gonna hear the French interpreter in there, but this is what Obama said.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: One of the points I want to make is if you actually took the number of Muslim Americans, we\u2019d be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.<\/p>\n

RUSH: If you actually took the number of Muslim Americans, we\u2019d be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world. Now, wait. Now, he also said this. ‘I think the most important thing I want to tell young people is that, regardless of your faith, those who build as opposed to those who destroy I think leave a lasting legacy, not only for themselves but also for their nations … And the impulse towards destruction as opposed to how can we study science and mathematics and restore the incredible scientific and knowledge — the output that came about during centuries of Islamic culture.\u2019 And then Jake Tapper reports on his blog at ABC last night: ‘The Emergence of Obama\u2019s Muslim Roots.\u2019 During the campaign Obama said his father was an agnostic, or was an atheist. Today we find out that Obama\u2019s own campaign, his own White House, during a conference call in preparation for Obama\u2019s trip to Cairo where he\u2019s going to address the Muslim world that he talked about having a Muslim father. <\/p>\n

They also said that his aunt or grandmother, something like that, his Kenyan grandmother was a Christian, but this month Gateway Pundit posts that we learned his Christian grandmother\u2019s going to attend the Hajj, which is the trip to Mecca in Saudi Arabia. Now, as far as this nation being a Muslim country — and I know that people in state-run media are going to say, ‘Come on, Mr. Limbaugh, he\u2019s talking to Muslims, he\u2019s trying to promote world peace, he\u2019s trying to promote understanding,\u2019 and yada yada yada. Folks, the current Islamist identity of Islam, the terrorist wing of Islam, which is what it\u2019s most known for today, is trying to take us back to the seventh century. Now, I know this is going to offend some people, but we\u2019re going to have to look at the Nobel prize winners and we\u2019re going to see how many Muslims are there. I could really anger some people if I said let\u2019s compare the number of Muslims who have been Nobel prize winners to the number of Jews who have been Nobel prize winners, and I don\u2019t think it\u2019s a contest. <\/p>\n

Also, do you know how many Muslims there are in America? Two-point-three million according to the Pew Research Center, there are 2.3 million Muslims in America. Yet the United States is one of the largest Muslim countries in the world, Obama says. Indonesia, 200 million Muslims, India 156 million Muslims, Pakistan 150 million Muslims, United States 2.3 million Muslims, and we are one of the largest Muslim countries in the world. So on the eve of this big trip to the Middle East, and his big speech in Cairo is tomorrow, to the Muslim world, Barack Obama is trumpeting and his White House is broadcasting all over the world his Muslim roots, his Muslim father, his Muslim Kenyan grandmother. During the campaign we couldn\u2019t use the word Hussein because it was too negative and conjured up all these associations with Islamists. We talked about how he was of Christian faith and so forth, and I\u2019m not disputing that. I just find it fascinating now that as he goes over again to the Middle East, and no doubt to apologize for the United States again, to start heralding for that part of the world his Muslim roots, once again we\u2019re getting a totally different Obama than we got during the campaign. <\/p>\n

I feel like Allah Akbar! Okay, Allah Akbar. Allahu Akbar. I mean, is this supposed to be our reaction now? Man, oh, man, oh, man. The United States is one of the largest Muslim countries in the world? By the way, just to be clear, I have nothing against anyone\u2019s faith. I do not like Islamofascist terrorists. I do not like terrorists. I have no sympathy or compassion or tolerance for them. I don\u2019t want anybody to misconstrue here. In fact, Gateway Pundit points out that one of his websites during the campaign was called Fight the Smears, and the smears in this case that they were fighting was that he was a Muslim. ‘When people fabricate stories about someone\u2019s faith to denigrate them politically, that\u2019s an attack on people of all faiths. During the 2008 Campaign Barack Obama\u2019s website claimed that Obama\u2019s father was an agnostic or atheist.\u2019 We found today his father, Barack Obama, was indeed a Muslim. Jake Tapper has it. It\u2019s on ABC, it posted and cleared last night. <\/p>\n

The Muslim population I don\u2019t think is even 1% of the population of this country, and yet he\u2019s out there saying that the US is one of the largest Muslim countries in the world. I sit here in stunned amazement as all this happens right before our very eyes, and there were people who tried to warn about this, and they were shouted down and they were ridiculed and they were told to shut up. <\/p>\n

RUSH: I want to grab audio sound bite number two. This is Lara Logan, state-controlled media, CBS, and this was her report on the CBS Evening News last night.<\/p>\n

LOGAN: (purring) Sunset in Cairo. The call to prayer rings out. Thousands fill the mosques for Friday prayers.<\/p>\n

MUSLIMS: (chanting)<\/p>\n

LOGAN: Muslims around the world are paying close attention to the overtures made by Barack Obama. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Listen.<\/p>\n

LOGAN: From his first moments as president —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Listen.<\/p>\n

LOGAN: America\u2019s new leader has raised the hopes of Muslims all over the world, who now expect so much of one man.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, all right, what hopes do they have? What hopes do these Muslims all over the world, not just in the Middle East, what hopes do Muslims all over the world have? They\u2019re not spelled out. Might it have something to do with Israel? Do they just want his share of the stimulus money? Do they want some shovel-ready jobs? What are their hopes? Obama said the United States could be considered a Muslim country. There\u2019s 1.6 million Muslims in this country, less than 1% of the population. Now, what is going on? I mean, lies about something that is easily demonstrated to be false. This is an out-and-out lie. Now, he\u2019s got the state-run media not challenging him on this, he says it over there in the Middle East. Why? There\u2019s more to this than just trying to appeal to the world\u2019s Muslims or their leaders. They know that the US does not have a large Muslim population, and he says it anyway. There is a pathology at work here where Obama says things that are flat-out lies, they go unchallenged by the state-run media, and it becomes so-called urban myth, but in this case this is weird. This is just plain old weird to run around and say that you could consider the United States a Muslim country with 1.6 Muslims living here. I don\u2019t pretend to understand it. You know, I\u2019m not a shrink. <\/p>\n

Here is one of the explanations for why all of this is going on. This is from CNN yesterday: ‘Shortly before President Obama departs for a trip to the Middle East, a new national poll suggests that one in five Americans has a favorable view of Muslim countries. That view compares with 46 percent of the people questioned in a CNN\/Opinion Research Corp. survey who say they have an unfavorable opinion of Muslim countries. That\u2019s up 5 percentage points from 2002,\u2019 when it was 41 percent. So 20% have a favorable view of Muslim countries in America; 46% have an unfavorable view. And this is a White House obsessed with polls. So there, I think, is one explanation for why all of this is being done, but this is just going to exacerbate things, and nobody is going to believe this. The people that hear this are going to be like all of us scratching our heads, ‘What is he talking about? What is the purpose of this?\u2019 Because everybody knows it\u2019s a lie, even his audience of Muslims, they know it\u2019s a lie, too.
