RUSH:\u00a0 “Ohio Swing Voters Outraged over Impeachment.”\u00a0 It is in Axios, i.e., Millennial left-wing publication focus group.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Axios, which is, ah, I guess you could call it a Millennial publication. This is the news site that runs stories this way. This is their format. They have their headline, then they run the first paragraph, and then the next thing that they put, “What it means.” So they write their first paragraph. The second paragraph explains what the first paragraph means. And then they say, “Why it matters.”<\/p>\n

So after explaining what the first paragraph meant, they then tell their readers why what it means matters. And then they continue with the story. It\u2019s a new formatting experiment where they\u2019re attempting to make their news presentation look different. But the problem is it\u2019s all the same stuff. It doesn\u2019t matter whether you read the New York Times or the Washington Post or watch CBS, ABC, CNN or NBC. It\u2019s all the same. In that sense it\u2019s amazing.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s all the same. And the news cannot possibly be all the same. In fact, folks, this is a teachable moment in fact. The Drive-By Media constantly whines and moans that there is not a common set of facts from which the American people can make important decisions such as voting and public policy. Yeah, and there hasn\u2019t been since 1988. 1988, when this program started, started the wave that resulted in the busting up of the monopoly the Drive-By Media had.<\/p>\n

And now you\u2019ve got a clear example of what it was. Even back in the days, in the 60\u2019s and in the 70\u2019s, it was all the same. It didn\u2019t matter what network you tuned into. It didn\u2019t matter what newspaper you read. It was all the same. Now, there were conservative newspapers, like the St. Louis Globe Democrat was a conservative paper compared to the St. Louis Post-Descratch. But New York had five or six newspapers, and there was a conservative paper in the bunch. But national news was all Drive-By. National news was all left-wing.<\/p>\n

\"\"And there wasn\u2019t any counter to it. And it\u2019s exactly what it is today. It\u2019s all identical. It didn\u2019t matter what network you watched or what newspaper you read, you got the same garbage. You got the same stories in the same order and the same take. I\u2019ve just been handed a note. Let me read it quickly. Okay. I got a little info here on what Doug Collins is doing. Thank you, Mr. Snerdley. Let me finish this thought.<\/p>\n

So now we\u2019ve got this uniform presentation of what the news is, and it is in total, total cooperation with Democrats in the media and Democrats in Congress, the House and the Senate and Democrats everywhere, and then you\u2019ve got us and other elements of the so-called alternative media, New Media, what have you. It\u2019s a great microcosm of what they want to go back to where Americans had one set of facts.<\/p>\n

How can there be only one set of facts with 1,500 news organizations following stories? Would somebody explain this to me? How can there only be one set of facts that every network used? The network news every night, 6:30, 7 o\u2019clock, whenever it was, was identical. And it still is!<\/p>\n

So, anyway, Axios went out to Ohio, left-wing publication aiming at the Millennial audience. Headline: \u201cFocus group: These Ohio Swing Voters Are Outraged Over Impeachment.\u201d<\/a>
\nDateline Youngstown, Ohio. \u201cSwing voters in this Rust Belt state are expressing a range of unease about impeaching President Trump, from fears it will hurt the economy to frustrations that House Democrats are more invested in going after Trump than in helping people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Well, where have we heard that? That\u2019s almost verbatim from my oral cavity. That\u2019s almost verbatim what I\u2019ve been pointing the last two weeks. I don\u2019t mean to make it about me. But the Democrats don\u2019t care about the little guy. They don\u2019t care about prescription drug prices or health care or illegal immigration or any of that. And they\u2019re spending taxpayer dollars to further their own political ambitions and desires.<\/p>\n

And so now focus groupers are saying this to the focus group testers. This is great, actually. Oh, here\u2019s the “why it matters” paragraph. I love this. Here, let me do it again. \u201cSwing voters in this Rust Belt state are expressing a range of unease about impeaching President Trump, from fears it will hurt the economy to frustrations that House Democrats are more invested in going after Trump than in helping people.\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s pretty clear, right? But for the Axios audience they need to have it explained to \u2019em. \u201cWhy it matters: If such sentiments last and play out on a larger scale across pivotal states, it spells trouble for Democrats unless they can reframe what they\u2019re trying to accomplish.\u201d So the first paragraph did not provide that information. They had to do the “why it matters” paragraph for the Axios reader.<\/p>\n

\u201cDistraction, unease, exhaustion \u2014 these were some of the main takeaways from our Engagious\/FPG focus group last week. We heard from 8 voters who flipped from Barack Obama in 2012 to Trump in 2016, and 3 who switched from Mitt Romney to Hillary Clinton. The findings are a counterpoint to the latest national surveys \u2014 including a Fox News poll \u2013” Oh! The Fox News poll. By the way, remind me to make a point about somebody has run around and redone the Fox poll if it were properly sampled. And it shows that only 44% would favor impeachment, not 51%, if it were properly sampled.<\/p>\n

So the findings in this focus group are counter to the latest national surveys that show more and more Americans now favor impeaching and removing Trump. \u201cWhile a focus group is not a statistically significant sample like a poll, these responses show how some voters are thinking and talking about the 2020 election in crucial counties.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then they have a “what they\u2019re saying” section. And this is quotes from the people in the focus group. \u201cParticipants shared their thoughts about the Democrats. \u2018They need to focus on the real issues,\u2019 said Judy D., a 60-year-old Trump voter. \u2018[Nancy] Pelosi hates him so bad, I just think she needs to drop it and worry about the country.\u2019 \u2018They need to be concentrating on the country, not what he\u2019s doing wrong,\u2019 Deborah G., a 56-year-old Clinton voter, said. \u2018They hit a big strike on Mueller, so this is trying to get another base hit on the president,\u2019 said Eric B., a 34-year-old Trump voter. \u2018It\u2019s become more of … \u201cDestroy the other party\u201d instead of build the whole country up,\u2019 said Richelle W., a 40-year-old Trump voter.\u201d<\/p>\n

And then Axios says, “Before getting serious about impeachment, House Democrats worried the timing was too close to the 2020 election and could backfire.\u201d Are you kidding? The only people worried about that was Pelosi. And she lost to the surge of the base. \u201cOne man, Rocco P., a 40-year-old Trump voter, offered this advice to Democrats: \u2018Just drop it. Beat Trump at the ballot box,\u2019” if you care so much.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u201cNine of the 11 participants raised their hands to say impeachment is a distraction \u2013” You could take this focus group all over the Midwest, and you wouldn\u2019t find anything different. I\u2019m telling you that average, ordinary Americans, no offense, are seething at this.<\/p>\n

From the New York Post: \u201cFox News Channel pollster Braun Research misrepresented the impeachment poll released last week by Fox News that claimed 51% of Americans favor the impeachment of President Trump. They underrepresented Republican independent voters, the Post has found.\u201d<\/p>\n

The poll said 51% of voters were in favor of Trump\u2019s impeachment and removal from office while 40% did not want him impeached. Princeton, New Jersey, pollster Braun Research, which conducted the survey noted that 48% of its respondents were Democrats, but the actual breakdown of party affiliation is 31% Democrat, 29% Republican, 38% independent, where they took the poll, where they took the poll, it\u2019s not 48% Democrat, it\u2019s 31%! Where they took the poll it\u2019s 29% Republican, not whatever it was in their poll.<\/p>\n

So what they ended up doing, 38% were independent instead of like 12% in the poll. So they weighted, w-e-i-g-h-t-e-d, they weighted, they simply gave Democrats more presence and Republicans less presence expressed as a percentage. That\u2019s a big, big difference. The poll has 48% Democrats, but the area they did the poll only had 39% Democrats in it.<\/p>\n

So, anyway, if you examine the results of the poll, if you examine the data and make the adjustment for the actual breakdown of party affiliation as it exists, the number is not 51% that want Trump removed. It\u2019s 44%. That is in the Fox News poll.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
