CALLER: Ah! Hello, Rush?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: How you doing?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Good, how are you?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m doing okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you sure?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, because of being in Riverdale?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Good.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m doing — everything is fine. I think you\u2019re a great American, Rush, you\u2019re one of my heroes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you very much, sir, I appreciate that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I think you\u2019re a very decent man, too. The reason why I\u2019m calling is that, you know, I usually agree with you 95 or 96% of the time, and I\u2019m terrified of Obama. I think he\u2019s going to ruin and destroy the country. I think he\u2019s a Marxist socialist who wants to create a Castro-like government. And what I slightly disagree with you on is I wasn\u2019t a fan of Bill Clinton, not a big fan of Bill Clinton, but compared to this guy, he\u2019s a zillion times better, and I\u2019ve been to a lot of Republican parties and they agree they\u2019d rather have him back.<\/p>\n

RUSH: This proves an Undeniable Truth of Life that I have written back in the mid-eighties.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That is nostalgia only reminds us of the good things in the past. You\u2019re looking back at the Clinton years —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — you\u2019re thinking, ‘Oh, man, they were so much better than this \u2019cause Clinton wasn\u2019t trying to destroy the economy.\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: I agree. I thought was a capitalist —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wrong. Wrong. See, you\u2019re using a point of comparison. Have you forgotten, Bill Clinton wanted to do pretty much everything Obama is doing; he just wanted to go for it first. He wanted to nationalize health care. You understand that if they had succeeded in doing that —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — then all the other dominoes would have fallen. I\u2019m not saying that Clinton wanted to own the car companies.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m not saying that Clinton wanted to have the government own things. You\u2019re right about that. But Clinton had every bit the intention of growing government and raising taxes and having control over people\u2019s lives as he could, and he was just as adept at blaming Bush 41 as Obama is at blaming Bush 43. So there are differences on the margins. We\u2019re just going to have to wait and see here. We were saved. People forget this, Adam, but we were saved by Monica Lewinsky and the intern pool. We don\u2019t know yet if the intern pool in the Obama White House is going to be as effective in derailing him as Lewinsky was in derailing Clinton. But you can\u2019t count on that much history detail to repeat itself. But don\u2019t think that Bill and Hillary Clinton — I mean, if they coulda gotten away with — liberals are liberals, Adam — if they coulda gotten away with what Obama\u2019s getting away with, they would have tried. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
