{"id":324000,"date":"2019-10-02T16:07:00","date_gmt":"2019-10-02T20:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/admin.rushlimbaugh.com\/?p=324000"},"modified":"2019-10-03T16:29:22","modified_gmt":"2019-10-03T20:29:22","slug":"the-president-on-fire-in-the-oval-office","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/admin.rushlimbaugh.com\/daily\/2019\/10\/02\/the-president-on-fire-in-the-oval-office\/","title":{"rendered":"The President on Fire in the Oval Office"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RUSH: If you want to get in these Trump sound bites now because I promised them, I committed to them, and people have heard and watched any of Trump\u2019s performance moments ago in the Oval Office are really raving about it.<\/p>\n<p>So, again, it\u2019s a meeting in the Oval Office right next to the fireplace in there, with the president of Finland. The guy\u2019s name is Sauli Niinisto, and he looks like somebody from Finland. If you have a caricature in of your mind of what somebody from Finland looks like, it\u2019s great. This guy looks like exactly like you would think somebody from Finland looks like &#8212; and if you\u2019re asking, &#8220;Well, what\u2019s that?&#8221; Well, then you don\u2019t have a mental vision of what somebody Finland looks like.&#8221; But if you do, then this guy is it.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MFZmDsMFjgM\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>So one of the Democrats in the media in the room says, &#8220;How do you respond to concerns that you are putting whistleblower\u2019s life in danger?<\/p>\n<p>THE PRESIDENT: The conversation was perfect. It couldn\u2019t have been nicer. Not a thing wrong. Unless you read the Adam Schiff version where he made up my conversation. He actually made it up. It should be criminal. It should be treasonous. He made it up, every word of it, made up and read to Congress as though I said it &#8212; and I\u2019ll tell you what. He should be forced to resign from Congress, Adam Schiff. He\u2019s a lowlife. He should be forced to resign. He took that conversation &#8212; which was perfect &#8212; and he said, &#8220;I can\u2019t read this!&#8221; So he made up a conversation, and he reported it and said it to Congress and to the American people, and it was horrible what he said, and that was supposed to be coming from me. But it was all fabricated. He should resign from office in disgrace &#8212; and, frankly, they should look at him for treasonous.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Why is Trump the only one saying this? For crying out loud, this was my reaction when I saw it. Again, if you missed it, Schiff made up what Trump said. Again, they were hoping Trump wouldn\u2019t release the transcript. What they wanted to be able to do was say Trump was stonewalling. They wanted to say Trump was obstructing justice and conducting a cover-up by refusing to release the transcript.<\/p>\n<p>But he screwed \u2019em up, he released it, and it was a good call, there was nothing illegal in it, nothing untoward in it, it was a congratulatory call. Trump was asking the guy for some help in the Trump-Russia collusion investigation origins. So Schiff goes to the Intelligence Committee in his committee chairman\u2019s chair and said that Trump asked the guy to dig up dirt, to make up as much dirt as you can and don\u2019t call me back until you have!<\/p>\n<p>He lied throughout. He made it up. It took an hour for somebody to call him on it. And then he said, &#8220;Well, it was just parody.\u201d This is sleaze on display! This is sleaze personified! Trump is exactly right about all this. But the question, where are the Republicans who would be righteously indignant about this? And of course we asked that all during Bush\u2019s eight years, where were the Republicans, where\u2019s Bush?<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s almost like the Republicans think it\u2019s their job to sit around and be assaulted, be abused, be beaten up, stand aside while it happens, let the Democrats decide their fate and then after that\u2019s been decided, to go away quietly. Do we have time for one more in here? We do. Trump later had this to say about Nancy Pelosi and her press conference today.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-324041\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/APP-100219-Trump-Angry-Oval.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/APP-100219-Trump-Angry-Oval.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/APP-100219-Trump-Angry-Oval-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>THE PRESIDENT: Ninety-nine percent of Nancy Pelosi\u2019s time is spent on this. She should worry about lowering the price of drugs, which I\u2019ve done, but it\u2019s hard to do without the help of Congress, about creating border security, which I have done. We\u2019ve built, we now have hundreds of miles of wall under construction on the Southern border. She should worry about infrastructure. She should worry about the USMCA. She\u2019s not doing it.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Exactly right. My theme since Monday. Democrats aren\u2019t doing diddly-squat. They\u2019re not doing one thing to help people. All they\u2019re interested in is advancing their own political preferences.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: And back to audio sound bites of President Trump moments ago in the Oval Office meeting with the president of Finland, Sauli Niinisto. Here is Trump speaking about reporters, continuing after talking about Pelosi doing nothing. I mean, they\u2019ve tried to pass some bad stuff. McConnell shut it down. But they haven\u2019t &#8212; you know, they\u2019ve shelved everything now and are not doing a thing for the country, for the American people. Anyway, so Trump calls that out, which is good, and then continued with this.<\/p>\n<p>THE PRESIDENT: They\u2019ve been trying to impeach me from the day I got elected. And, you know what? They failed. And this is the easiest one of all, because this one is based on one conversation. What about Obama\u2019s conversation with the president of Russia where he says, &#8220;Hey, hey, tell Vlad I\u2019ll &#8212; I\u2019ll talk to him after the election\u2019s over. I\u2019ll talk to him.&#8221; Nobody reports that. Right? That stuff you should report. But you people should be ashamed of yourself. We have the most dishonesty media that you can imagine. And you should be ashamed of yourselves.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: This is a recurring theme. Don\u2019t think, by the way, that this doesn\u2019t reach people, &#8220;Well, Rush, nobody\u2019s gonna see it. The media\u2019s not gonna replay this. Trump\u2019s never gonna be &#8212; if it weren\u2019t for you playing it, nobody would have heard.&#8221; It reaches more people than you think.<\/p>\n<p>I still maintain that there are millions of people out there seething over all of this. That\u2019s just plain old common sense. I know all of you are, and there are lots of you out there. Another question from another Democrat in the media in the room. &#8220;Was the whistleblower\u2019s report immediately illegitimate?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>THE PRESIDENT: If you remember at the beginning, it was quid pro quo. That\u2019s all you heard about. And I think he said seven or eight times, quid pro quo. In other words, you\u2019re gonna do that or we\u2019re not give you money, you\u2019re gonna do this or we\u2019re not gonna &#8212; I never said it. But when I heard these horrible stories come out, I had no choice but to release a conversation. They never thought in a million years that I\u2019d release the conversation.<\/p>\n<p>When little Adam Schiff saw the text, when he read it, he couldn\u2019t believe it. When she saw that, she was &#8212; she &#8212; I heard she went crazy. She said, \u201cWe can\u2019t impeach him with this conversation. That\u2019s a great conversation.\u201d She went by the whistleblower. And the whistleblower was so bad, I wouldn\u2019t even think about it. But here\u2019s what happened. The whistleblower was wrong. The only thing that matters is the transcript of the actual conversation that I had with the president of Ukraine. It was perfect!<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Now, let me build on this. What he means by perfect, it was perfectly congratulatory, it was perfectly legal, it was perfectly mannerly, it was perfect every way. There was nothing in it that is any way even weird to judge on the basis of ill-mannered or braggadocious or unserious, nothing like that was wrong with it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/daily\/2019\/09\/30\/f-the-case-against-trump-is-so-strong-why-do-democrats-have-to-make-it-up\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-323320\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/APP-092619-Schiff-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/APP-092619-Schiff-2.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/APP-092619-Schiff-2-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, they believed the whistleblower. This whole thing is a scam. The whistleblower is informed, he has secondhand knowledge. He gets together with staff of the House Judiciary Committee who write the complaint &#8212; that\u2019s why everybody\u2019s praising the way it\u2019s written like a lawyer &#8212; and that whistleblower\u2019s complaint is mentioned, and the inspector general, &#8220;Oh, man, this is the most serious thing I\u2019ve ever seen.&#8221; The media runs with it, they don\u2019t expect Trump to release the transcript!<\/p>\n<p>This is key to understand. They think they\u2019re gonna get away with mischaracterizing however they wish. Because in their minds Trump will never give up this kind of privacy, will never expose the presidency to this kind of openness. So they were gonna be able to say about this call anything they wanted. And Schiff still is, even though the transcript is out. But Trump pitched \u2019em a perfect change-up by releasing the transcript.<\/p>\n<p>And the moment the transcript was made public, everybody knew more than the whistleblower. There\u2019s no need for the whistleblower to testify. The whistleblower does not have, by his own admission, direct, firsthand knowledge. The whistleblower cannot add anything. The whistleblower was going to characterize the call until Trump released the transcript.<\/p>\n<p>When they saw the transcript &#8212; see, they were prepared, do not doubt me &#8212; Trump is right &#8212; they wanted to portray Trump as stonewalling, as obstructing. They wanted to be able to say that he had started a cover-up. He blew all that by releasing the transcript. And then the transcript doesn\u2019t have anything in it that is impeachable. I mean, John Kasich has told \u2019em this, Never Trumper. You can\u2019t impeach a guy for this phone call. There\u2019s no impeachable offense in the Mueller report. By the way, Kasich hasn\u2019t been back on CNN since he said that.<\/p>\n<p>So Trump threw \u2019em a change-up curveball or what have you. Now they\u2019re having to make it up and having to act like this is so much worse than even they thought, it\u2019s all manufactured. It is the daily Washington soap opera. And Trump is understandably livid about this! I would be. I\u2019m livid about it, it\u2019s not even happening to me. But, see, it actually is, folks. That\u2019s the point. All of this is happening to all of this. It\u2019s how you have to look at it. You can\u2019t say, &#8220;Whew, boy. Glad this ain\u2019t about me.&#8221; Isn\u2019t it personally, but it\u2019s about everything you believe and the future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RUSH: They wanted to say Trump was obstructing justice and conducting a cover-up by refusing to release the transcript.
