RUSH: Here is Ruth in Waverly, Ohio. Hi, Ruth. Great to have you here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hello.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: First-time caller also. Well, my question kind of goes with that saying. I\u2019m working right now, but I\u2019m wondering why the smartest people in my graduating class, none of the girls had children, and that\u2019s why our country is going in the downhill slide it is.<\/p>\n

<\/a>RUSH: You know what you need to do? You need to go rent a movie called Idiocracy. Have you heard of that movie?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, I haven\u2019t.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ruth, it\u2019s juvenile. It\u2019s a juvenile movie, and it\u2019s not something that you could watch with young kids, but it\u2019s about the very premise that you are expressing concern for.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Mmm-hmm.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Luke Wilson stars with some starlet, I don\u2019t remember her name, and the Army is experimenting with a program to freeze people for a year to see what happens and wake \u2019em up and see if they can suspend the aging process and so forth.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Uh-huh.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And what happens is they put them in the building, and the building gets bulldozed because the defense budget gets cut, and they\u2019re in these chambers, life supporting chambers while frozen or suspended for 500 years, and they eventually wake up in America in the year 2500. And what\u2019s happened is nobody with an IQ over 70 has had kids. Everybody is a blithering idiot. They try to water their crops with Gatorade! The Costco store is 99% of the whole town. Every business, like a Starbucks or a McDonald\u2019s is a whorehouse. I mean, it\u2019s juvenile. But it does address this whole concept of the smart people keep putting off kids and putting it off but the idiots are just procreating like rabbits out there. How old are the friends you\u2019re talking about?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, we\u2019re 56 now.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And you\u2019ve got 56-year-old female friends that have never had kids?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They regret it?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, they don\u2019t, but I\u2019m going, ‘My gosh!\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: Have you asked them why they didn\u2019t want to have kids?<\/p>\n

CALLER: They said they put their careers ahead of their family life.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, now, that\u2019s me, too. I mean, I understand that, but I also know that women have the biological time bomb that starts kicking in the late thirties.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (chuckling) Yes, that\u2019s true.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And that\u2019s just… There\u2019s nothing they can do about that. It just happens.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I think it\u2019s a sad sight that I\u2019m seeing this country in because it\u2019s going downhill.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you —<\/p>\n

CALLER: All the smart people are not having children.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You need to go rent the movie Idiocracy and it will at least make you laugh about this. I couldn\u2019t begin to give you a reason why. I don\u2019t know that it\u2019s true, even, that only the stupidest among us are having kids.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, the ones that can afford \u2019em are the ones on welfare.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (reading transcription) The ones that can afford them are the ones on…?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Welfare.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, it\u2019s not that. No, no, no, no. No, no, no. Not entirely. The ones that can afford them are largely the ones not having them, according to your theory.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, that\u2019s true, too. But the ones having them are the only ones that can afford them.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Not everybody having kids is on welfare! <\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, I\u2019m not, and I had three.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So?<\/p>\n

CALLER: And I have three grandchildren.<\/p>\n
