RUSH: This is Matt in Woodlake, California. You\u2019re next, Open Line Friday on Wednesday. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, dittos from the home of Pat Hill and the Fresno State Bulldogs. I got to tell you, from the original Rush Baby. I was homeschooled from second grade to eighth grade, and I listened to you three hours a day for my formal education, and —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, you don\u2019t know, you just don\u2019t know how many light years ahead of people your age who went public school you are.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I got a pretty good clue. I got a degree and taught for awhile, so I got a very good idea.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Good.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You came out once to Fresno on a Rush to Excellence Tour and I was too young to go. My dad said you wouldn\u2019t allow crumb crunchers to go so I\u2019m hoping to come back someday. My point for calling —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a second. I never kept crumb crunchers out of these things. There were crumb crunchers all over the Rush to Excellence Tours.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, maybe dad didn\u2019t want me to go.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Your dad had probably heard me call about, just like the previous caller, the All American First Cavalry Amazon Battalion, which is nothing more than a bunch of women soldiers on PMS, or your dad probably heard me demonstrate safe talk by putting a condom on a microphone, and he probably decided this might not be for his son.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I still have a certified Dittohead shirt from all those years ago, I kept.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Terrific.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But my reason of calling is on Saturday we had at 8:31 in the morning, me and my wife had our first baby, and we named him Rush McGovern (ph).<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re kidding.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m not kidding. Well, his name is Thomas Rush McGovern (ph), but we\u2019re calling him ‘Rush.\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, man, can you imagine this? There\u2019s a McGovern <\/emphasize>—<\/p>\n

CALLER: No! No! No! No, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: A McGovern <\/emphasize>with the name Rush! Oh!<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, our last name is spelled M-c-G-o-v-r-A-n.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It doesn\u2019t matter.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) I\u2019ve put up with it for years.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I thought you said McGovern<\/emphasize>.<\/p>\n

CALLER: McGovran.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I want to thank you, sir. I am truly, truly honored. Most people name their dogs after me.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, no, this is an important one. My wife\u2019s even on board.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Even your wife. Was it a struggle?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, no. I don\u2019t know. She went along with it. She knows me. We signed the birth certificate and all, though. It\u2019s official. He\u2019s got his name on his little thing in the hospital right now says ‘Rush.\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: God bless your son.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And God bless you, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thanks Matt, oops, we just lost him. Sounded like a cell phone connection that went south. Did I mispronounce his name, was it not McGovern? It\u2019s McGovern but he spells it a different way, doesn\u2019t matter. Rush McGovran.
