It is a shell corporation to dump donations into. The Guttmacher Institute is just Planned Parenthood. They put a separate bunch of people over there, but it\u2019s the same bunch. They want to make it look like it\u2019s some independent agency over there that calculates statistics and keeps track of progress or failure. So, if you see something that says the Guttmacher Institute, it\u2019s Planned Parenthood.<\/p>\n

The AP knows the Guttmacher Institute isn\u2019t a research group that supports abortion — well, technically it is. But it\u2019s Planned Parenthood. It\u2019s Planned Parenthood with another name trying to make you think that the abortion industry is wide and expansive and deeply intertwined into American culture.<\/p>\n
Anyway, here are the numbers. The Guttmacher Institute \u201ccounted 862,000 abortions in the U.S. in 2017. That\u2019s down from 926,000 tallied in the group\u2019s previous report for 2014, and from just over 1 million counted for 2011.\u201d And then get what it says here. \u201cGuttmacher is the only entity that strives to count all abortions in the U.S. \u2013\u201d See? It\u2019s another misleading attempt here to make you think that the Guttmacher Institute is some independent bunch of clowns that inadvertently end up supporting Planned Parenthood. They are Planned Parenthood!<\/p>\n

Now, see, so the Republicans control, Democrats run. It\u2019s the exact opposite, by the way. \u201cBetween 2011 and 2017, abortion rates increased in only five states and the District of Columbia.\u201d Now, the Guttmacher Institute speculates here that \u201cOne reason for the decline in abortions is that fewer women are becoming pregnant.\u201d<\/p>\n
