RUSH: Mike in Kansas City, great to have you, sir. Missouri. Nice to have you on the program.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, Rush. Mega dittos from the Show Me State.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, last night when I was watching your interview with Greta you made a lot of good points. It was a great interview, you\u2019re a real patriot, but you said something that really — not really scared me — it was distressing, because I\u2019ve been thinking it. My wife and I of 25 years have been thinking about it, but you said, ‘With all the power he has assembled, 80% popularity, controls the House and the Senate, that there may be nothing we can do to stop him.\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, that\u2019s not quite exactly what I said. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I said he\u2019s got 88% percent popularity among Democrats. I said not even Reagan had 88% popularity among Republicans. And the point here is that the partisanship in this country and the blind obedience, the mind-numbed robots are, in fact, Democrats. What I meant by it, there\u2019s nothing we can do to stop it, which I also said there aren\u2019t anywhere near the votes in the House to stop it, and the Senate is kind of iffy. But right now in a democratic fashion in Washington there\u2019s nothing to stop anything he wants to do. The only thing that\u2019s going to stop him is if he overreaches for some Democrats, which is hard to imagine. But at some point the cumulative effect of all of this is gonna wake people up at some point, I hope. And at some point he\u2019s going to be able to be stopped, but right now, you tell me what can be done to stop him.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I don\u2019t know what can be done to stop him.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let me give you an example. He goes out and the tea parties, the tea parties overwhelmingly successful. The Drive-By Media does everything they can to impugn the tea parties and the participants. What does Obama do? Convenes a big public relations show at the White House, first ever cabinet meeting and announces ‘budget cuts.\u2019 And so the people hear he\u2019s cutting the budget. Okay! (clapping) That\u2019s all they hear. They don\u2019t know details, they don\u2019t care, and he\u2019s got the power of the bully pulpit in the White House is immense. George Bush never used it. This is an example of a president using it, like Clinton did.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, what do you think about the fear factor of all the labels they\u2019re putting on conservatives and people who believe in God and people who believe in life, that we sit there and we show up at these tea parties and then they start taking pictures and cataloging us and then we have something to fear? Don\u2019t you think that\u2019s going to drive a lot of us away to go out there and exercising our First Amendment rights?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I hope not, but clearly it\u2019s one of the objectives. Look, let me give you an example of this. This situation in — was it the Miss USA pageant? All right, the runner up from California, what\u2019s her name? Carrie Prejean. I think her name is Carrie Prejean. How in the world a militant, stupid idiot ‘blogger\u2019 ends up as a judge, some guy named Perez Hilton. (It\u2019s not even his real name; it\u2019s a parody of Paris Hilton.) He\u2019s got a blog site. He ends up as a judge. Okay, so he asks Miss California, ‘Well, what about gay marriage?\u2019 <\/p>\n

‘Well, I don\u2019t think that\u2019s right; I think marriage is between a man and a woman.\u2019 <\/p>\n

The whole place went nuts! The whole place booed her out of there. All the judges, and then the entertainment press, from E Weekly to Entertainment this to People magazine starts dumping on this poor girl, Carrie Prejean. And this is an illustration of what I have been mentioning in recent months about how we\u2019ve lost the pop culture. I knew it was Carrie Prejean. The Miss USA pageant is now a 100% politicized event, with bloggers as judges asking political questions, and disqualifying somebody because of their answer. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
