RUSH: Staying with the phones. We go to Lincoln, Nebraska. This is Melanie. I\u2019m glad you waited, Melanie. It\u2019s nice to have you here on the EIB Network.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, Rush! Dittos from a stay-at-home mom back in Lincoln, Nebraska, thankful that you\u2019re speaking the truth.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, madam, very much. I\u2019m honored and happy to still be able to do that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You bet. I was calling about the old tea parties, and I found out about our local tea party here and called my state senator to see if he was going to be present; and his scheduler that I talked to informed me that they were not allowed to go to those things, to protest, because it\u2019s against the government and —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait, wait, wait, wait. Hold it a minute. You had somebody in the office of your state senator?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, Senator Ben Nelson.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, no. He\u2019s a US Senator. Okay, I was getting confused. United States Senator Ben Nelson.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Somebody in his office said that Nelson couldn\u2019t go?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, because it\u2019s a protest, and government officials can\u2019t go to protests against the government, and that\u2019s what the original tea party was for, was to protest and —<\/p>\n

RUSH: That may well be. I, frankly, don\u2019t care. It\u2019s probably not true. But let me ask you a question, Melanie. I\u2019m very, very curious here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Why did you want to know if a Democrat senator was going to show up at a tea party?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, because I figure if he\u2019s going to represent me and spend billions of my dollars, then he ought to come and hear what the people that he\u2019s representing think.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Melanie, no, no, no, no. Civics 101, that\u2019s what they teach you in the sixth grade how it works. I guarantee you that the people in his office are just grinding their teeth today where people like you, calling divisive troublemakers.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s exactly what she said I was. It was too divisive and they won\u2019t go.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, no surprise. You\u2019re out there stirring the excrement, and this is not good and so forth. Protesting the government is not good and so forth. The reason your senator isn\u2019t going to go is because he knows nobody wants to see him there. <\/p>\n

CALLER: (giggles)<\/p>\n

RUSH: He\u2019s the one being protested and everybody like him.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. Well, I did know that, and I called him on purpose to see just what they would have to say, and I thought it was interesting. She also even said that none of their staff could even go. So…<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s such a crock.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I want to know what law that is, that keeps American citizens whop to work for the government from going to one of these. I\u2019ll guarantee you there are going to be a lot of government employees trying to infiltrate these things. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: The government employee unions, I\u2019ll guarantee you that there are going to be troublemakers out there trying to make these events look like something other than what they really are.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, yeah, and I don\u2019t know if you remember, but Ben Nelson was the one that he worked a deal with the three Republicans that went along with the stimulus or bailout package. So anyway, good luck to him in reelection, so…<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, work the deal with the Republicans. Hell, they\u2019re all complicit in this. This is a debacle.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, it is. And I say it doesn\u2019t matter if you\u2019re Republican or Democrat on this spending stuff, because even Bush spent a bunch of money that he shouldn\u2019t have and he had an opportunity to not do that and he just went along with it, so…<\/p>\n

RUSH: Everybody is trying to buy a legacy! Everybody is trying to buy love. Everybody is trying to buy respect. Everybody is trying to buy reelection. Everybody is trying to buy something, with everybody else\u2019s money. I\u2019m glad you called out there, Melanie. John in Dallas, it\u2019s nice to have you with us on the EIB Network, sir. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, Rush. How\u2019s it going?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Good.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I am here at a tea party in Southlake, Texas, which is right between Dallas and Fort Worth, and it is amazing. It is electrifying, man. I came up here, I knew I was coming today, and didn\u2019t know how big a crowd was here but it is in a plaza in a shopping center area, and you can\u2019t park for a half a mile close. I mean, you\u2019ve got to be a half a mile away or better. There\u2019s gotta be 5,000 people here right now and more streaming in all the time. <\/p>\n

CROWD: (cheers and applause) <\/p>\n

CALLER: It is amazing. It\u2019s electrifying. The charge that\u2019s going through here is phenomenal. The signs are awesome. One of the best ones I saw was: ‘Obama, you\u2019re taxing my patience,\u2019 and the speaker, one of the guys speaking right now you know well, so… But it\u2019s just amazing, and I hope this is going on everywhere across the nation like this.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I hear some raucous applause in the background there, John. What\u2019s causing that?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, Mark Davis is speaking, and he\u2019s asking people questions about, ‘Are you tired of being taxed enough? Are you tired of being taxed from the standpoint of, you know, imposing debt tax that they\u2019re talking about?\u2019 other things, and there\u2019s no dissenters here. Everybody is strongly in favor of all this —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Have any malcontent leftists from ACORN or MoveOn.org shown up and tried to get in the way?<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) Haven\u2019t seen any yet, but I\u2019m still filtering around to see if I can tee see any of the malcontents but you got everywhere from senior citizens here to kids.I\u2019m looking at a kid that\u2019s eight-year-olds or a little older out here. I mean, it\u2019s a joyous event.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, if you run into that eight-year-old kid or any other eight-year-old kid, say, ‘Hi, it\u2019s nice to meet you. How does it feel to be broke?\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) I just don\u2019t want to ruin their day right now, you know? But it\u2019s —<\/p>\n

RUSH: I think they know their day is ruined. They\u2019re just trying to do something about it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. He had a great line for any of the Democrats that did show up here, that wanna be a part of it because they\u2019re opposed to the taxing also. He said, ‘You know, if you\u2019re a Democrat show up, stick your hand out and say, ‘Hey, I may be a Democrat but I\u2019m tired of this, too. Glad to meet you,” and the crowd went nuts, you know, \u2019cause we need everybody fighting for this, not just one side.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I think these tea parties are going to be comprised of a mixture of people from various political walks of life, identities, parties, ideologies, and so forth. I just want to prepare you out there, John. You\u2019re here at this massive thing at a shopping center plaza. You gotta park a half mile away, and I guarantee you, by the time this event gets reported — maybe not in the Metroplex — they might have no choice but to report it honestly there, but by the time the national media gets through with this, you\u2019re just a bunch of kooks. You know, you\u2019re just a bunch of right-wing extremists, fed up, bitter clingers, upset. Do everything they can to impugn your honor and integrity, and I\u2019m glad you called, I appreciate the report. Lansing, Michigan, is next. Mary, nice to have you on the program, Mary.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Mega dittos, Rush, from Lansing, Michigan!<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It was great. It was the best thing I\u2019ve ever attended. I\u2019ve never been to a demonstration before but everybody was so enthusiastic. Joe the Plumber gave a great speech, friendly. All the right-wing extremists were there. We were all there.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait. Joe the Plumber was in Lansing?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, he was.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They must be flying Joe the Plumber around to a bunch of these things today (laughing), \u2019cause Joe the Plumber is from Ohio.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s right. And he\u2019s going to be in Atlanta this evening.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, that\u2019s right. I\u2019ve heard he\u2019s going to be there. At that thing in Atlanta, there\u2019s going to be a jockey for who\u2019s running that one. Hannity is going to be there. Gingrich is going to be there. Joe the Plumber is going to be there. That\u2019s going to be its own entertainment, above and beyond the tea party. (laughing)<\/p>\n

CALLER: We wish you would have been in Lansing, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, I had nothing to do with these. I\u2019m too famous to go to one of these things. I can\u2019t overshadow these things. These things have bubbled up from the grassroots. You know, there\u2019s nobody out there that can take credit for these things. I\u2019m just ecstatic that they\u2019re happening. This is amazing confidence builder for me.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And we want you to know that people were talking about you. They were talking about Sean [Hannity]. They were talking about Mark Levin, and it\u2019s all coming together for us. We\u2019re going to win this thing.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I appreciate that. Again, way to feel. Way to feel positive and optimistic about it. Mary, thanks much. We have to go. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Hello, sir. How are you?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Excellent to outstanding, for the most part.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I just can\u2019t believe I\u2019m talking to you. There\u2019s no parking here. It\u2019s a park, and we have a tiny little town. All the kids are out and their trucks and cars. It\u2019s beautiful. It\u2019s a thing of beauty for a little tiny town.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, wait a minute. You\u2019re calling from Cocke County. Is Cocke County the name of a town?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, actually Newport is the town and it\u2019s a little teeny tiny town.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What\u2019s the population of Newport and Cocke County?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Maybe about 10,000.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ten thousand people, and all the kids are out of school?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, they are, sir. They\u2019re all here and —<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s not going to sit well with President Obama.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I don\u2019t care what President Obama thinks. Our kids —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Those government-run indoctrination centers are supposed to prevent kids from being exposed to the right-wing extremism that you are exposing them to today in Newport and Cocke County.<\/p>\n

CALLER: We are exposing them to politics. They\u2019re learning that there are two sides to everything, and this is our side.<\/p>\n

RUSH: By the way, somebody just sent me the cutest picture. It looks like an eight- or nine-year-old girl, and she\u2019s holding a sign: ‘I am the freedom-loving, pro-life Constitution-supporting patriot Homeland Security warned you about.\u2019 The most innocent looking little kid. I\u2019m glad you\u2019re having a good time, Alicia. Any violence there?<\/p>\n

CALLER: There\u2019s no violence here. It\u2019s a thing of beauty.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Nobody\u2019s rolled any cars, set \u2019em on fire, none of that?<\/p>\n

CALLER: (giggles) No, sir. No fires.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No Molotov cocktails thrown through the bank window?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No Molotov cocktails, sir. It\u2019s just a bunch of really clean-cut Americans.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, I\u2019m watching, you know, I\u2019m watching some of the videotape and some of the live shots of the tea parties, and that\u2019s one of the things you notice is just how clean-cut all these young people are. There are a lot of young people at these things, too. It has to frighten the White House. It has to frighten them, because young people are supposed to be the new mind-numbed robots blindly following Obama down the path of fairness, equality, and utopia.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush thank you. My mother-in-law actually taught him in third grade to bring in some of that connection. During the break at the top of the hour, ABC News — oops, I\u2019m sorry, did I mention the mainstream media — mentioned tax day and tea parties, and then answered with a cut twice as long of President Obama, ‘We promised no tax increase for families earning under $250,000. We kept our promise. We didn\u2019t raise taxes.\u2019 Well, folks, today, I\u2019m actually sitting out in front of the Warrenville, Illinois, post office, it\u2019s right next to Naperville, had to come by through here, every day people are going in and coming out, they\u2019re filing their income taxes, they\u2019re getting their receipts so that they can prove that they did it. This guy\u2019s been in office less than 90 days, he didn\u2019t do one thing to alter my 1040 or anybody\u2019s 1040 that we\u2019re filing today. The audacity of the mainstream media or this president saying that he kept his promise that people aren\u2019t paying any more today.<\/line><\/line>RUSH: I am glad you\u2019re outraged by this.<\/line><\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m outraged!<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m glad you\u2019re outraged, I\u2019m glad you\u2019re outraged. Get used to it. The Drive-By Media\u2019s nothing but a bunch of stenographers. They got too much invested in him; he\u2019s too big to fail. Whatever he does is brand-new, unique, never been done before, brilliant, and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
