RUSH: This has been an incredible, what is it, 60 or 70 days? Do you realize we have four years of this left? There\u2019s four years of this stuff left. And, you know, he\u2019s carving up the country, giving little bits of it away over at these summits with NATO and the G20. And now we have this Axelrod fellow in the White House who puts all the words on the teleprompter that Obama says, and Rahm Emanuel who are now the editors for news organizations. I\u2019m sure that Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod, they\u2019re not going to be listed in the masthead, but they are the executive editors of Politico. We already know they are executive editors for Newsweek. They just take dictation from what happens at Rahm Emanuel\u2019s office. <\/p>\n

There was a story, I found it last night about right before six o\u2019clock. Ah. From the McClatchy Washington bureau, it\u2019s a reporter named Steven Thomma, reporting from London. Here\u2019s the headline: ”G20 Reaches Accord After Obama Steps in to Broker a Deal\u2019 — Heading into the summit\u2019s final hours, however, it appeared that the group would fail to reach a consensus, as French President Nicolas Sarkozy pushed to have the G20 spotlight offending tax havens based on a list published Thursday by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and China objected, largely because it doesn\u2019t belong to the OECD.\u2019 So the thing that Sarkozy wanted, identify tax havens, might not have happened because the Chinese, the ChiComs are not part of the organization. The whole thing could have fallen apart. Do you realize the G20 was hanging by a thread? ‘That was when Obama, long a champion of ending or curbing tax havens, decided to float a compromise and pulled Sarkozy aside, according to a senior White House official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity as a matter of policy. ‘The president thought he could be helpful in resolving the differences,\u2019 the official said.<\/p>\n

‘Obama proposed that the G20 merely ‘take note\u2019 of the OECD list, thus opening the door to implicit but not direct endorsement of that list. ‘He sent a message to the Chinese. They were considering it (Obama\u2019s message) for some time,\u2019 the official said. Obama then met with Chinese President Hu Jintao and Sarkozy in a corner of the summit meeting room, as the other world leaders waited. Upon the trio\u2019s reaching agreement, the G20 summit then agreed to note the list of tax havens.\u2019 Barack Obama personally saved the G20. Folks, this is no different than if the White House had put out a press release, and if the White House would have put out a press release, it would have been ignored. This is a press release written by Steven Thomma of McClatchy, that Barack Obama personally saved the G20, and he didn\u2019t do anything! (impersonating Obama) ‘Well, uh, I don\u2019t have a teleprompter, but, uh, why don\u2019t we just, instead of acknowledging, why don\u2019t we just take note, why don\u2019t we just say, ‘Yep, the tax haven is there.” Bam, what a brilliant idea, nobody in the room could have come up with this. He saved the G20. That\u2019s the point of the story. So David Axelrod and Rahm Emanuel are the executive editors of McClatchy news, they\u2019re the executive editors of the New York Times and Politico.com. People are just taking dictation. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let\u2019s go to Howard Fineman. This is on MSNBC last night. The anchor said, ‘Mr. Fineman, Chancellor Merkel said that Obama put his hand into this. She\u2019s not talking about shoulder rubs. Considering that the buzz before the summit was all about France and Germany threatening to walk out. Are these no small compliments?\u2019<\/p>\n

FINEMAN: The president in fact did play a role in brokering a deal between two countries, uhhh, one with — famous for its, uhh, diplomatic finesse, namely, France, and another one, China, with 5,000 years of history — and here the young American president from a relatively young country steps in at a massive summit of 20 countries and gets them literally to talk to each other. I think the fact that they\u2019re putting out that story, that not just the United States, but the other countries are supporting it, shows that they want Obama to succeed.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So this is the regurgitation of the PR spin. So I guess now that Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod are the executive editors at Newsweek as well and at MSNBC. So the Chinese and the French, why, they didn\u2019t talk to each other? Obama got them to talk to each other, at the G20? Now, we\u2019re the most powerful nation in the world has nothing to do with it? It\u2019s all Obama? Not that he\u2019s the president of the United States, it\u2019s Obama? So Hu Jintao… You know what? What I said at the top of the program is true. I\u2019m telling you what, Hu Jintao and Medvedev in Russia are sitting around, and this guy talks about getting rid of nuclear weapons, and he\u2019s carving up this country\u2019s sovereignty, and giving a little bit of it away at all these summits — and Hu Jintao and Medvedev can\u2019t believe their good fortune.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the world superpower with this dunce president who\u2019s going to disarm? All we gotta do is make it look like we think this guy\u2019s the smartest thing that\u2019s ever hit the planet. Now, these guys don\u2019t care about ego. I know Hu Jintao doesn\u2019t care about ego. Medvedev, he may have a little ego battle with Putin. Regardless, these are genuine leaders of the countries who are in it about their country and if we\u2019re the enemy and you got a guy saying, ‘My goal is to get rid of all — wait, teleprompter — uh, nuclear weapons.\u2019 If you got a president saying that, wouldn\u2019t you, if you were a smart leader, try to make it look like this guy is the most brilliant man in the whole universe? <\/p>\n

I think this whole story is a sham. They didn\u2019t get a deal. Obama made the deal. It was all gonna fall apart. The whole thing is, this is done in advance. So they\u2019re putting the story out. Howard Fineman knows they\u2019re putting the story out. They\u2019re willing to put the story out. They\u2019re willing to amplify the story that\u2019s put out. Howard Fineman, Newsweek, Politico, are totally willing for Axelrod and Rahm Emanuel to be their executive editors. In the meantime… This statement doesn\u2019t surprise me at all here. When Fineman says, ‘The other countries supporting it, shows they want Obama to succeed.\u2019 Damn right. Damn right! He\u2019s handing them the United States of America. He\u2019s opening the Treasury of the United States of America to them. Of course they want him to succeed!
