CALLER: Hey, Rush, how are you?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Fine, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019ll try to make this quick because I\u2019m still on hold with Rezko mortgage company. So if I hang up, I apologize.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s the Rezko Rescue from yesterday. (laughing)<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Good for you, sir. The Rezko mortgage company. Good for you, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, Rush, real quick it seems like with this administration, if you need something, all you have to do is ask for it, and you\u2019ll get it and I\u2019m referring to the lady last week that asked for a house and got it. Do you think…?<\/p>\n

RUSH: She did not get it from the administration. She got it from the wife of a Democrat Congressman. I don\u2019t even know if she accepted it. Look, it\u2019s not true whatever you ask for from this administration you get. Now, don\u2019t say that. There are certain people who might think that\u2019s going to happen to them.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Heh, heh, right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But it isn\u2019t going to happen.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay, well, if enough people start complaining that they can\u2019t afford to go to a sporting event because it\u2019s too expensive — they can\u2019t take their family and their kids are crying or what have you — do you think the Obama administration will demand salary caps on pro athletes and take their bonuses?<\/p>\n

RUSH: No.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You don\u2019t?<\/p>\n

RUSH: No.<\/p>\n

CALLER: What about the Hollywood elites?<\/p>\n

RUSH: No.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Because I can\u2019t afford to take my family to the movies.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s good. They\u2019re not worth it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughs) That\u2019s true. Okay, and one more comment.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay. Would it be fair to compare the administration to the Mafia? I grew up close to Youngstown, Ohio, where in the seventies where Mafia ran rampant, and it seems like pretty much the same. They strong-arm everybody, and I think we should start giving the administration Mafia names.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Somebody said the other day, a couple months ago now (I wish I could remember who), ‘There\u2019s no difference between the Mafia and politics.\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But I don\u2019t remember the tagline to it. You know, like ‘politics is show biz for the ugly,\u2019 that\u2019s how they compare. But this politics and Mafia, the mob, there\u2019s no difference — and I wish I could remember the tagline to it. The bottom line is, politics has always been a shakedown game. Most of the time, Todd, most of the big money people — not the average people who give their 25 bucks \u2019cause they believe in ideas, the big money people, most of them — give money to Washington as a protection to make sure Washington doesn\u2019t come after \u2019em. Of course with this administration, those bets are off. (laughs) It doesn\u2019t matter how much you\u2019ve given. If you\u2019re big, they\u2019re coming after you, and they\u2019re going to sit back and laugh and smile, while they watch your business plummet in value at the same time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
