CALLER: Rush, it is an honor, 19-year dittos. I love the night we saw you on the Rush to Excellence Tour in Philadelphia. I\u2019m so glad to talk to you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: My point — (laughs) it made me laugh when you were talking about the law with the car doors. This pales in comparison to what really is out there with the Porkulus bill, but to hear you talking about the bike riders? There are a lot of us out here that are in that evil 2% Algore talked about of wage earners on bicycles, custom-made. I\u2019ve been car-doored and hit twice. But two of the times, the police officer, I have broken bones, stitches — and I understand, I\u2019ve ridden down where you live, that we\u2019re all over the place.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I have a question here. I have never been car-doored.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It hurts!<\/p>\n

RUSH: Why are you so damn close to the car? You\u2019re on a bike. You\u2019ve got all the lane room in the world, unless you\u2019re in a pack of bikers and you can\u2019t move.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Great question. I like that. We\u2019re going through a town, and you\u2019re looking for them, you\u2019re your head\u2019s on a swivel. You\u2019re listening. You hear \u2019em coming. I can feel a car without even seeing it. And there was a tinted window car, and like you said, ‘Get on the sidewalk.\u2019 Can\u2019t do that. That\u2019s illegal. Stay as far right as you can. You have traffic passing you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I know, and kind of tees me off. The sidewalks are for pedestrians, the streets are for pedestrians when they happen to wander in one, and now the streets are for bike riders — and we automobile drivers, what do we do, we have to give way we have to yield to everybody who streets are not designed for.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly. It\u2019s not like Europe. Your point\u2019s valid, but now I\u2019m defenseless. I\u2019m on an 18-pound bicycle, and this mini-van, the door, she swings it open. I didn\u2019t go over it. I lept into the car, and it destroyed a very expensive bike. The guy that turned left in front of me, I\u2019m sitting there with my leg up and they required a tourniquet, and the police officer —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, yeah, yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — who responded looked at me and said it\u2019s my fault.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So it\u2019s a problem, right?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, it is. Without a doubt.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, all right, everything\u2019s a problem if you listen to the right people. There\u2019s not a thing in the world that\u2019s not a problem. It\u2019s a problem. It\u2019s just that some of these problems, you\u2019ve gotta keep the government out of them. I guess that\u2019s a lost cause. C.J. in East Texas, I got 45 seconds, but I wanted to get to you. CALLER: (garbled) Oh, my! Jeez! I can\u2019t believe it. Thank you for taking my call and thank you for talking to me. I might work for McDonald\u2019s, but, hey! Marijuana out to be legal! I\u2019m telling you, it could balance the budget. I\u2019ve been saying that for years and my talk shows when I was on the radio — and, my God Almighty, Rush, it\u2019s so awesome to talk to you, brother!<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I love you — and I\u2019m telling you, it ought to be legal. It\u2019s not going to be any worse than the stimulus package. It could help because it\u2019s going to be smoked no matter what they do. God bless you, Mr. Limbaugh. If I could work for you, all I want is a hut.<\/p>\n
