RUSH: Here is Sue Ann in Pozo, California. It\u2019s nice to have you on the EIB Network. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, Maha Rushie, I\u2019m very nervous. I choose not to participate in any of this that\u2019s going on, and I think other people should choose the same.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What do you mean by that?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Anybody who can live on as little as possible or is smart enough to learn how to live on as little as possible can choose not to participate. It sounds horrible, but if we (laughs) bring it on faster.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, I got it. Your definition of not participating in the recession is spending the bare minimum occasion —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — and letting businesses that you used to patronize suffer so that the economic crash speeds up. To what end?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m not quite sure. I think once there is a catastrophe, people get smarter. We have saved the weak and the stupid for so long that everybody\u2019s weak and stupid.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. You know, normally we kind of blanch at that kind of direct language, but we have… What did you say? ‘We\u2019ve saved the weak and stupid for so long that everybody\u2019s weak and stupid.\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s not the case that everybody\u2019s weak and stupid yet, Sue Ann.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m pretty… We haven\u2019t reached that point yet. We do have a frightening number of slackers. I mean, there\u2019s no question. The candidacy of Barack Obama has, no doubt, brought the slackers to the forefront. I don\u2019t know if it actually created new ones. I\u2019m afraid that it did.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, I\u2019m sure it did. I\u2019m the wife of an achiever, and I see all of these underachieving and no-achieving-people.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I just want to take moment to applaud you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You had the courage and the guts to call a national radio program and admit that your husband is an achiever thereby making your husband and you a target. <\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughs)<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s a very courageous move that you\u2019ve just made here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, thank you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: A little scary. A lot scary. I\u2019m scared a lot.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Where\u2019s Pozo, California, by the way?<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s a little farming community in central California.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, Central Valley?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No. We\u2019re closer to the coast than that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But, yeah, they\u2019re trying to run the farmers and the ranchers out of California now, too.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, yeah. In fact, not just there, in Tennessee or Kentucky, there\u2019s $30 million in the stimulus plan for some little mouse.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, I heard that yesterday.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You see that? I can\u2019t… I\u2019m looking for the story even now as we speak. I put it here at the start.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I have to say that I will have no respect for an environmentalist until I see them sitting on the side of the road eating grass.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, I like you, Sue Ann.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughs)<\/p>\n

RUSH: I really do. I\u2019m glad you called. It\u2019s refreshing to hear. I like hearing from you. You don\u2019t care who you offend, do you? <\/p>\n

CALLER: No.<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: You\u2019re not afraid. You\u2019ll just say whatever you want to say.<\/line><\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s right, and my husband.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019ll tell you, you and the Cessna guy today, you made my day.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, how you doing!<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, fine, how are you?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay. Listen…<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a second. Wit a second. Wait a second. What kind of phone are you on?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hold on. Let\u2019s fix that. Is this better?<\/p>\n

RUSH: No! What was better is the previous. I want to know what kind it is.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, hold on. I\u2019ll go back to that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah!<\/p>\n

CALLER: How\u2019s that?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Great! What kind of phone is it?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Actually it\u2019s a regular old AT&amp;T phone. Remember that company?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, and you probably bought it at a Kmart or a Walmart or something, right?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I don\u2019t know where we got it, we\u2019ve had it for so long.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019ll tell you what, that\u2019s great.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But it\u2019s a Plantronics headset plugged into it. I\u2019m not talking to you the regular one.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, I see. So you\u2019re using a microphone right up there next to your oral cavity.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Actually, you know, it\u2019s got two earpieces and the little thing that comes out in front of your mouth.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. That\u2019s called a microphone.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, it\u2019s great.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Anyway, you want me to get to the point?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I\u2019m sorry I delayed your point.<\/line><\/a>CALLER: No, that\u2019s fine. Listen, you know, I\u2019m unemployed, and I sit here and I listen to these senators and congressmen telling me there\u2019s no pork in this thing. There\u2019s $20 million in it for a mouse, all right? Does that have to be? I think that\u2019s what we need to do right now. We gotta break down what we would like to have and what we absolutely need to survive, and half of the stuff in this package isn\u2019t what we need. It\u2019s what we\u2019d like to have. I mean there\u2019s a picture of Obama today —<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a second.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You disappoint me?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Why?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019ve looked at this. I don\u2019t see too much in it I want.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Me neither!<\/p>\n

RUSH: Certainly not half of it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: There\u2019s nothing in this thing I\u2019d like to… Do you realize that there is absolutely no evidence that any stimulus package in the last 80 years has ever goosed economic activity?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I didn\u2019t get to that point yet. (laughing) Yes, I agree with you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, let me back out of your way, then, and you go ahead with your two earpieces and a microphone.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, it\u2019s just embarrassing to the United States that these people would stand up before the world and insist that this is a stimulus package when all it is is blatant spending. I mean, do you know anything about building a small bridge? Most of it isn\u2019t even built on site. It\u2019s all built in modular. Just to get the EPA approval to build the bridge takes five to eight years. Obama\u2019s talking, ‘We\u2019re going to build bridges. We\u2019re going to build roads.\u2019 He doesn\u2019t know what he\u2019s talking about. And you can go into this. His entire speeches and spiels and just pick everything apart, where the man is just talking. I truly felt bad for those people that were building those motor homes, because here\u2019s the president of the United States sitting there —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Who killed the industry? He and his party killed the RV industry, and he shows up in Elkhart, Indiana, saying it\u2019s a shame what Bush did to you, but I\u2019m here to fix it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, and then to add insult to injury, he said wouldn\u2019t you guys like an over and underpass out there on the highway to bring these people right down Main Street so they can do business? Well, you people are going to build it. Rush, let me ask you a question.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You don\u2019t know me. Would you hire me to help you run your radio show? No. You need somebody who understands the business.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I don\u2019t know.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well that\u2019s the same as…<\/p>\n
