<\/p>\nRUSH: You know, I just saw something here, and… Ha! I\u2019m not sure what I saw, but I\u2019m gonna tell you what I think it is. Devin Nunes is just completing his opening statement after Schiff, little Pencil Neck, chairman of the Judiciary Committee. He\u2019s finished his statement. Devin Nunes just concluded his. It was just perfection. Devin Nunes nailed these guys in describing everything going on: All of the phoniness, all of the fake collusion, all of the illusions the Democrats are trying to create — collusion when there isn\u2019t any, the timeline of how it was gonna be produced.<\/p>\n

But what I saw was this, and I\u2019m gonna give you an analogy. Mueller was listening to Nunes. They had occasions where they had a split screen with Mueller on the left and Nunes on the right. Mueller was listening to Nunes with rapt attention. He was laser-like focused. But the facial expression was almost like of somebody hearing something for the first time, and I\u2019m asking myself, “Can this possibly be true?” And I think it may be.<\/p>\n
We now know Robert Mueller is not capable and hasn\u2019t been capable of participating in this investigation. We now know that Robert Mueller was chosen to head up this investigation precisely because of the reputation he brings to it: Incredible integrity, unimpeachable integrity and honor. He\u2019s the face of the investigation. They\u2019ve got his CV out there, his resume. Vietnam War hero here. Military war hero there. Attorney general here. DOJ, second in command over there. Back to being FBI director over here. Impeccable reputation.<\/p>\n
Giving the whole investigation that impression. Meanwhile, the people actually running it are a bunch of Hillary Clinton zealots who nobody knows. Nobody knows who Andrew Weissmann is. Nobody knows who Zebley is. Nobody knows. They know who Strzok Smirk and Lisa Page are now, but they don\u2019t know any of the other people. They think Mueller\u2019s doing the work, and they think Mueller is above reproach! Mueller hasn\u2019t been doing anything but providing the reputation and the image!<\/p>\n
So when Devin Nunes was reciting the alternative theory here, that the real collusion between Russia and the United States occurred between the Democrats and Hillary Clinton and Russia, and when he went through the timeline of all of these promises the Democrats have made to produce evidence of collusion and yet there isn\u2019t any, and the report states there isn\u2019t but that Adam Schiff opens the committee today by pointing out that there is evidence of collusion in the report, when there isn\u2019t!<\/p>\n

Nunes says the Democrats here are no different than the people that tell you about the Loch Ness monster. “Nobody can find it, but it\u2019s there.” Same thing here with collusion. Nobody can find it, but it\u2019s there. It\u2019s gone from being invisible and hidden to now it\u2019s in plain sight in the Mueller report! Mueller was listening to this like he was hearing it for the first time. I know how to read facial expressions. He was not impassioned, he was not bored, he was not biding his time until Nunes finished.<\/p>\n
Now, this is just a spur of the moment reaction, and I don\u2019t want anybody to misunderstand it. Mueller is by reputation a lifelong Republican. He\u2019s worked in Republican administrations and so forth. I think it\u2019s another reason he was appointed here. It\u2019s to give this investigation this unimpeachable reputation and image of nonpartisanship, when this investigation is one of the most rank, partisan undertakings we have ever had to deal with.<\/p>\n
Like everything else the Democrats do, they hide it and lie about it and use misdirection and fakery to convince people that something isn\u2019t what it really is. Like they are not the socialists and liberals that they really are, even though that mask has come off lately with The Squad and others. But Mueller was watching this and listening to this like he\u2019s heard it for the first time. Now, is that plausible? I don\u2019t know. It just… I\u2019ll tell you, this isn\u2019t the first time I\u2019ve had this reaction. Every September, Apple introduces new iPhones.<\/p>\n
There\u2019s gigantic press unveiling in September at their headquarters, and after the two-hour presentation when they reveal new products, they have a section set up where the press in attendance can go look at the new products. The new products are set up on display where you can touch them and you can use \u2019em for two or three minutes, but you really can\u2019t do much more than that. But they\u2019re on display. Last year at this session, there\u2019s a photo — and I am not the only one who\u2019s had this reaction.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s a photo of Jony Ive (who is the designer, the lead designer) talking to Tim Cook, the CEO. They\u2019re looking at the iPhone XR, the multicolored version of the iPhone last year. Jony Ive has got his finger pointing to one of the phones, and Cook is looking at it like it\u2019s the first time he\u2019s seen it! Now, wait. He\u2019s the CEO! You would think that he would know what the new products are. I\u2019ve run this buy people who work in massive corpora. I said, “Is it possible that the CEO of Apple may not know, may not see the new iPhones before they\u2019re released?<\/p>\n

“Is it possible that he may not be part of the review and approval process?” I can\u2019t tell the number of people who have said, “Oh, yeah, that\u2019s entirely believable. CEOs, they\u2019ve got so much going on, they delegate so much. They\u2019ve got trusted lieutenants to handle that. Cook has never been known to be a product guy.” I\u2019m sitting in disbelief. If was the CEO of a phone company and it was the reason my company was almost worth a trillion dollars, I\u2019d damn well know what it\u2019s making every year and I\u2019d be involved in the process.<\/p>\n
But I\u2019ve had… I can\u2019t tell you the number of people who told me, “No, it\u2019s not a surprise Cook doesn\u2019t know. He trusts the people doing it! He\u2019s got other things he\u2019s an expert in — supply chain, operations and all that. He\u2019s got experts to do this. He trusts them. He\u2019s not a designer. There\u2019s nothing he can do.” Well, I\u2019m watching Mueller today, and I got the same impression, that he was listening to Devin Nunes and hearing some of this stuff as Nunes was explaining it for the first time.<\/p>\n
Now, I realize how probably wrong that is. I realize that sounds really farfetched. That\u2019s why I debated whether or not to even mention it to you. But there\u2019s a little part of me, knowing what we know now. I think it\u2019s entirely possible that Robert Mueller hasn\u2019t a lot of knowledge about what really went on here. I think it\u2019s entirely feasible and entirely possible, and I think that he was chosen precisely because he can\u2019t be hands-on anymore. He was chosen purely for the puffery of it all. He was chosen for the PR value of it all, for the reputation, that whatever work (dramatic voice) “The special counsel\u2019s office is doing cannot be criticized.<\/p>\n
“It is unassailable, don\u2019t you know, because this man has more honor and integrity than 10,000 people that live in Washington.” Well, that worked. You know as well as I do, the one thing is Mueller would not come under any criticism or any of that. (interruption) No, I don\u2019t expect this to change anything. I\u2019m not… No, no, no. I\u2019m not expecting Mueller to change his testimony this afternoon. (interruption) No, no, no, none of that. It\u2019s just an observation. Let me get started on some of the sound bites — and we\u2019re rolling tape.<\/p>\n

RUSH: By the way, just so you know, earlier today, Robert Mueller III said that he was not familiar with Fusion GPS, which is strange because Fusion GPS and the Steele dossier are the entire reason why he had an investigation. The Steele dossier, Fusion GPS, Joseph Mifsud, Stefan Halper, these FBI players. These are why this all happened, and he claims he does not have any familiarity with Fusion GPS. Look, I\u2019m gonna repeat this again. I know how ridiculous it sounds, and it probably is.<\/p>\n

But when I saw Devin Nunes\u2019 opening statement today, the afternoon session here on Pencil Neck\u2019s committee, Mueller was listening to him with rapt attention, more attention than Mueller has paid to anybody I have seen him listening to today. I am not exaggerating this. Robert Mueller looked to me like he was hearing half of this story for the first time, that he was hearing the Fusion GPS part, the Steele dossier part, the fact that Hillary Clinton\u2019s people paid off it, that his investigator was a Hillary Clinton donor, that his lead investigator went to her election night party.<\/p>\n
He probably knew that. But he was listening to Devin Nunes, and there was no scowl on his face. There was no, “This is garbage.” There was no facial expression. It was rapt attention. And, folks, I\u2019m just telling you. I know this sounds unbelievable, but I think it\u2019s entirely possible that Robert Mueller does not know at least 50% of this story that you and I all know. He doesn\u2019t know the Fusion GPS, the FISA warrant aspect of this. He was a figurehead on this! He didn\u2019t do the work in this investigation. His name\u2019s on the letterhead. He\u2019s the picture of integrity and honor and all that.<\/p>\n
But he didn\u2019t do any work here! This is totally a staff driven investigation, and if he reads the New York Times, which I\u2019m sure he does, and the Washington Post, he\u2019s not gonna know anything. His report cites the Washington Post 90 times! The New York Times 75 or 80 times, as evidence of this so-called conspiracy, collusion, whatever. He\u2019s citing the media! Well, he\u2019s not, \u2019cause I don\u2019t think he did the report. But I just think it\u2019s entirely possible, as jaundiced and one sided as the mainstream media is today…<\/p>\n
You know, we\u2019re all assuming that Mueller knows that and is doing his best to cover it up. I think it\u2019s entirely possible that he doesn\u2019t know what you and I know about how this whole sham was put together. (interruption) Do you think that\u2019s…? (interruption) You don\u2019t think that\u2019s realistic? (interruption) Well, my staff thinks I\u2019m a little all wet on this. Snerdley\u2019s sucking up by saying, “I think it\u2019s 100% … possible.” I know it sounds impossible. I know it sounds unbelievable.<\/p>\n
“He\u2019s a smart guy, Rush. The guy is informed! The guy\u2019s this and that.” I\u2019m just telling you what I saw, not that it matters to anything. (sigh) But it actually was the conclusion I came to. (interruption) No, there\u2019s no wishful thinking in it because it isn\u2019t gonna make any difference to anything. It\u2019s just an observation. You know, you watch. In a couple years, we\u2019re gonna learn I\u2019m right about this.
