CALLER: Hey, Rushalicious. How you doing?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Great. Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, sweetie, I\u2019ve been listening to you for years, and I agree with most of your comments and opinions, but I think with this Obama thing you\u2019ve gone a little too far, you sound like a petulant little boy who didn\u2019t get his way and, you know, I may not agree with Obama\u2019s packages —<\/p>\n

RUSH: What do you disagree with about Obama\u2019s package?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, he scares me a little bit. He seems like he\u2019s got promises and the fixes for everything, which I don\u2019t think is humanly possible. However, the nation really needs some hope right now, and it needs to pull together, it needs to clean up our corrupt government. Bush didn\u2019t do that great a job —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, my God, I can\u2019t believe you. I cannot believe you! We got a corrupt government, need to clean it up, Timothy Geithner, Hillary Clinton, Rahm Emanuel, you want to clean it up?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I don\u2019t agree with the Clinton thing, I don\u2019t agree with some of his choices, but I think we need to pull together as a nation right now, and he\u2019s our only choice.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Shelly, do you realize how you sound?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I don\u2019t agree with his choices, I think he\u2019s making promises, he can fix everything — we need to support him.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I think we need to support our government.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Have you had an IQ test lately?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Maybe it\u2019s about a two. (laughing) Rush, seriously, I feel kind of strongly about this. Normally, like I said, I don\u2019t disagree with you, and I don\u2019t disagree with you on a lot of issues, but —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, no.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — but I think you gotta ease up a little bit, man, and, you know, give the nation a chance, if this guy messes up, he screws up, but right now we need to —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Look, I can\u2019t stop anything he\u2019s going to do. What do you mean give the nation a chance? I\u2019m all about giving the nation a chance, but I can\u2019t stop anything this guy\u2019s going to do, Shelly, and neither can you. He can stop what I\u2019m doing, Shelly, with a wave of his hand, with his signature, he can stop what I\u2019m doing, Shelly. I can\u2019t stop what he\u2019s doing.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s true, but —<\/p>\n

RUSH: My criticism here is not aimed at him. It\u2019s aimed at people like you and obviously I\u2019m failing. But that will only inspire me to be better at what I\u2019m trying to do. I am not going to wait for some government agency to come up with a plan to tell me how to better persuade you of what\u2019s right. I\u2019m going to do it on my own. I shall not quit. I love you, you\u2019re in the audience, I appreciate your being out there, but you have given me every reason to continue doing what I\u2019m doing. Did you ever play soccer, Shelly?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, I ride horses.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Have you ever had blunt trauma to the head?<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) No, no blunt trauma. I am blonde, however.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I think you might want to ask a family member. Sometimes the victims are the last to know about these things. Something may have happened because you\u2019ve just given me every reason in the world not to support the guy and yet telling me I should, for the sake of the country. Put yourself in my position here trying to be reasonable with this. Well, I\u2019m glad you called. All this is quite illustrative. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: On second thought, I don\u2019t think these callers are seminar callers. I think, rather, what\u2019s going on out there is — just like elected Republicans — they\u2019re scared to death. ‘Come on, Rush! Come on, Rush! Don\u2019t talk this way. Oh, I have people listening all the time. Don\u2019t! Please, can you just cool it \u2019til he screws up? I mean, they hate us already. We can\u2019t be criticizing him now! Please, please calm down.\u2019 These callers are afraid that my criticism of Obama — and it\u2019s not even criticism; I\u2019m just doing analysis here — will somehow reflect on them as listeners of the program, that they will then be criticized and have bad things said about them. And of course nobody wants to have bad things said about them. Except me. I set out purposely to tweak those every day (at least four times a day) who don\u2019t even know are gonna say bad things about me. I happen to enjoy it, and it\u2019s gotten to be so easy I can do it without even saying anything. I can do it. I can hijack an event by not even being there. Even if I wanted to stop tweaking them, I couldn\u2019t. The fact that I\u2019m alive makes it happen. Here\u2019s Stratus in Laurel, Montana. It\u2019s nice to have you, sir. Welcome.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush can you hear me with this listening device?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, I do hear you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh good. Rush, I\u2019m honored that I finally got on. I never called before. My battery\u2019s really low. I hope I make it. Can you still hear me?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. Your cell phone or are you a robot?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, I\u2019m on a cell phone.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay.<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: I\u2019m in my shop working. I\u2019m a small business owner, too.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, okay.<\/p>\n

CALLER: The woman in Discovery Bay, which I happened to used to live by there, I would recommend that she learns to start farming, because that\u2019s what it\u2019s going to take to survive probably in this time.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Especially organic, because all you need is manure for organic.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yep.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You could put feces in your food and sell it to anybody with the name ‘organic\u2019 on it. That\u2019s a great idea.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Being the all knowing that I know you are, I have a question. What happens if you don\u2019t pay taxes?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you might ask Wesley Snipes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Al Capone.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly. If you don\u2019t pay your taxes, you\u2019ll get letters and then eventually they\u2019ll throw you in jail.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Unless you\u2019re Timothy Geithner, and then it\u2019s ‘a common mistake\u2019 —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — and you\u2019ll become Treasury secretary.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And I highly recommend that everybody investigate the Federal Reserve and the fiat currency versus the gold standard. I would also recommend that… If you don\u2019t… Nobody in the world has the right to take private property from anybody, but if you don\u2019t pay your taxes, and you refuse to, they will come.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, but they do. It\u2019s in the Constitution. It\u2019s called eminent domain. It\u2019s been expanded beyond what its original purposes was, but they do. And, besides, look, private property? That\u2019s a concept that\u2019s not going to exist much longer, and it\u2019s all government\u2019s anyway.
