CALLER: Hey, Rush. Can you hear me okay?<\/p>\n
RUSH: I do. I do. Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Excellent. Well, thank you. You know, first of all, God bless you. I\u2019ve been listening to you since 1990. And for 29 years I\u2019ve been trying to get a hold of you. But last night and the night before really burnt a hole in me when they all were talking about the one-payer system. I\u2019m not in the one-payer system, unfortunately, paying $2,900 a month for insurance, and I unfortunately have a special needs son who\u2019s autistic. And that insurance does not cover the therapy for him. So I\u2019ve gotta pay out of pocket another $5,200 a month.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Now, wait a minute. What do you mean you\u2019re on the single-payer system? What does that mean?<\/p>\n
CALLER: I\u2019m on Obamacare.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Okay. You\u2019re on Obamacare. And —<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n
RUSH: — your premiums equal $2,900 a month or your deductible?<\/p>\n
CALLER: $2,850, yeah. $2,850. It\u2019s based on your income; so I do okay, but it\u2019s all sucked up in premium and —<\/p>\n
RUSH: No. Wait. What is the $2,850, a deductible or a premium?<\/p>\n
CALLER: That\u2019s premium. Premium. Deductible is $12,000, I believe?<\/p>\n
RUSH: You gotta be kidding me. I know this is true. You may as well self-insure. For crying out loud, you\u2019re paying almost $3,000 in order to get a $12,000 deductible?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yeah. That\u2019s a silver plan. You got gold, silver, and bronze.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Oh, yes, I know them well. I\u2019ve avoided all of them.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yeah. Right. Right. So the silver plan —<\/p>\n
RUSH: Okay. So you\u2019ve got this, and you hear these people touting single payer all night in these debates, what do you think?<\/p>\n
CALLER: (laughing) I want to throw something at the TV. Yeah. It\u2019s purely that they\u2019re talking about something they haven\u2019t personally experienced. They don\u2019t know what they\u2019re talking about. And they haven\u2019t talked to the people that are on it. And the people that are working that are on it.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, now, if you listen to the Democrats, they are personally aware of the dire consequences that all of you and every American face because of our horrible health care system, which is brought to us by evil corporations. You know, these people talk about hospitals… (interruption) Who was it that said…? it was Frank Luntz, one of his focus groups two days ago, he said, (paraphrasing) “If I were a CEO, I would be scared to death after this debate.” If I ran a hospital, I would feel like the biggest target of the Democrat Party alive today.<\/p>\n

I mean, they zeroed in on hospitals. (impression)\u201dHospitals are not doing anything but for any reason than profit. Hospitals are not treating us…
\nAll hospitals care about…\u201d You would not believe the number of times the past two nights of the Democrat debate the concept of profit got destroyed. The concept of profit was impugned and besmirched as one of the roots of all evil. Now, I don\u2019t know… They come along and they say everybody\u2019s gonna have to give private insurance and then go to single payer, Medicare for all, and then look at Bernie Sanders convincing people that they\u2019re gonna get it for free and yet their middle class taxes are gonna go up. It\u2019s scary folks. I\u2019ll tell you something. I don\u2019t want to be misunderstood. I don\u2019t think these people are headed for guaranteed landslide defeat. I hope so.<\/p>\n
The scary thing is there are a lot of people, way too many people who do buy into all of this hate because they feel it themselves, the resentment and the anger they have for people, the Democrats are feeding that. They\u2019re validating it. The Democrats don\u2019t want to lift anybody up. The Democrats tell people you can\u2019t lift yourself up. The Democrats are not trying to inspire. This is the thing that\u2019s missing. It\u2019s the thing that\u2019s missing, and it\u2019s missing from quite a wide swath of our political lives.<\/p>\n
In fact, it\u2019s gotten so bad, things have gotten so cynical that if somebody does try to inspire, they\u2019re kind of laughed at and made fun of at times for being unrealistic. And there\u2019s not a single thing wrong with trying to inspire people. Most people are not self-starters. Most people require a push because most people are not imbued with a bunch of self-confidence. Most people have to be told that they\u2019re capable of a lot. They have to be pushed to it. And if you come along, I guarantee you this, if you are the kind of person who does provide a push for someone, that person\u2019s gonna love you. That person\u2019s gonna respect you for the rest of their life.<\/p>\n
If you are the kind of person that can demonstrate to somebody else that they\u2019re capable of much more than they think they are, they will have never ending respect and admiration for you. Because face it, if you think back in your life as a student, your best teachers, I\u2019ll guarantee you, may not have liked \u2019em, best teachers, favorite teachers might not have been people you liked; they might have been people that got more out of you than you could get out of yourself. That\u2019s called inspiration. That\u2019s called pushing people.<\/p>\n
Most people have a comfort level way below their abilities, meaning you get this, you acquire that, you stop, you\u2019ve made your comfort level, you don\u2019t need to go any further. Some people just keep pushing because they\u2019re self-starters. Oops. I gotta take a break. My point is there\u2019s nothing wrong with inspiration, and it\u2019s really in short supply in a lot of places in this country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
