First of all I\u2019d like to thank you for your optimistic outlook on everything.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Thank you, sir.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pointerbrand.com\/Default.asp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/01125114.Par.89380.ImageFile.jpg\" width=\"389\" height=\"284\" class=\"alignright\"\/><\/a>CALLER: You\u2019re welcome. My family\u2019s been making blue jeans in America for 96 years, and every day if I turn on the radio and hear what you have to say about anything, I know I\u2019m gonna make it, it\u2019s up to me, my employees are safe, and we\u2019re going to do it. Bottom line. It\u2019s up to me. Thank you for that.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Well, you\u2019re more than welcome, but as a businessman in the blue jean business, you know that, you don\u2019t need to hear it from me.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Well, I know that, but you know what, it\u2019s just reassuring, and let me tell you another good point about what\u2019s going on with me right now. I hired somebody. I have a new employee starting today.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Really?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: And you\u2019re not in the health care sector, you\u2019re not in the education sector, you\u2019re not in the government sector, yet you hired somebody?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: I hired somebody today, we started her out, she came in this morning, I stopped by to make sure. I\u2019m on my way to see some friends this weekend and stopped by to make sure she showed up for work, she did, and I said welcome &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: See, see, see? What did he do? Folks, he made sure she showed up. Ninety percent of it is showing up.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Absolutely, sir. That\u2019s exactly it, and the second 10% is knowing that you\u2019re doing it for your customer. That\u2019s the other part.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: How long did you interview her?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Actually, she just walked in, she said she had some experience, she was really desperate looking for a job. I had somebody who I needed to move to a different position because &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Wait a minute.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: So I said, &#8216;Why don\u2019t you come join us?\u2019 <\/p>\n<p>RUSH: When was the first time you saw her?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: You saw her yesterday, you hired her today?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Amazing. <\/p>\n<p>CALLER: If it doesn\u2019t work out I\u2019m going to find a place for her, and if that doesn\u2019t work out, well, then we\u2019ll just have to figure something out. But I\u2019m not giving up on my fellow man like you haven\u2019t given up on your fellow man.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: She must have really bowled you over.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Oh, she didn\u2019t bowl me over or nothing. I just needed somebody to come in and help us. But, you know what, if you give somebody a chance, they\u2019ll give it back to you. And that\u2019s one of the lessons that you teach people out there. <\/p>\n<p>RUSH: She came knocking on your door, right? She came looking?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: She didn\u2019t wait for you to find her?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: No, sir. She just heard that we make jeans, and she had sewn out in California previously and stopped by, asked if we were hiring, and to tell you the truth, Rush, I wasn\u2019t, but, you know what, she needed a job, I\u2019m there for my fellow man, and my fellow man has given it back to me, and, you know what, that\u2019s just what it\u2019s all about, sir.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: This gets even more amazing every time you utter a sentence. You didn\u2019t even have an opening.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: No, sir, I didn\u2019t. Not really.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: But she impressed you to the point that you thought she could do some good work for you.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: I knew she could, I knew she could and she needed a chance, and people have given me a chance.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: That must mean that your business is doing pretty well because if you weren\u2019t looking for somebody, it means you didn\u2019t need anybody and yet you hired this woman.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: I hired this woman \u2019cause I know I\u2019m going to make it this coming 2009. I knew it in 2008, I know it in 2009. I\u2019m not giving up. That doesn\u2019t mean I\u2019m not going to make a mistake, and I\u2019ll correct my behavior from that, but, you know what, I\u2019m gonna make it.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: All right, I have to ask.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n<p>RUH: You haven\u2019t gotten any portion of the bailout, have you?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: No, I\u2019m still waiting for my checks. (laughing)<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: All right, well, congratulations, I\u2019m glad you called.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Thank you, Rush.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: This is a great story. Ask for what you want. You never know what\u2019s going to happen. Do you know how simple it is to ask for what you want. Most people don\u2019t because they think they\u2019re being selfish, or they\u2019re afraid of giving themselves away. Most people like to keep themselves close to the vest and not have their desires known, they think it makes them weaker, or vulnerable. But you would be amazed, other than in marriage, what can happen when you ask for what you want. Try it.
