RUSH: Is anybody ticked off that Trump flip-flopped on all of this stuff? I mean, there\u2019s CNN: Trump changes his mind saying he would call the FBI. Trump changes his mind, says if offered dirt on rivals he would tell the FBI. Trump changes his mind. Trump this, Trump that. Why did Trump change his mind? Who got to Trump? Who told him you gotta do this \u2019cause the media\u2019s all over you? Trump changed his mind. Trump incorrectly says Mueller report hardly mentioned Don Jr.<\/p>\n

\"\"I mean, this cascade here is never-ending, and Victor Davis Hanson last night was on Fox News with Laura Ingraham, and said that the investigation of the investigation probably isn\u2019t gonna get done until 2020, and he probably is right about that. But, still, we\u2019re in a race against time.<\/p>\n

Now McCabe is back to life. Andrew McCabe, who should be shamed to the point of hiding, is now back on TV saying (paraphrasing), “See? We were right! Trump is an existential threat. Trump is a danger. He\u2019s not qualified to analyze information that he gets from foreigners. It takes the professionals like us.” And James Clapper is out saying the same thing.<\/p>\n

So McCabe\u2019s all over CNN saying (paraphrasing), “This is why we were doing what we were doing because this guy Trump says he would take anything from anybody.” Except Trump\u2019s out there saying that he wouldn\u2019t now, that he would phone it in to the FBI if he received data.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, what is so damn frustrating, Trump hasn\u2019t done anything! Everybody else did! It remains the fact that Trump didn\u2019t do anything! All of this about Trump is what if, what would, all of it is hypotheticals. But with the Hillary Clinton Democrat Party DOJ, FBI, we\u2019ve got actual action, actual criminal behavior that is in the process of being investigated and it\u2019s mind-boggling.<\/p>\n

RUSH: By the way, President Trump called Stephanopoulos “a little wise guy.” We\u2019ve got the sound bite coming up. Stephanopoulos says (paraphrased), “Why didn\u2019t you talk to Mueller?” “I did. I answered written questions.” “Why didn\u2019t you talk to Mueller?” “I did! I sent McGahn over there. We answered a bunch of written questions.” “But you didn\u2019t go talk! Why didn\u2019t you…?” “George, you\u2019re a little wise guy. Shut up! We cooperated. You\u2019re a little wise guy, George.<\/p>\n

“Everybody knows it.” Exactly. So what\u2019s he doing there? (shouting) What the hell was Stephanopoulos doing there<\/a>, if everybody…? I\u2019m sorry. I\u2019m really ticked about this, to have teo come in here, sit here, and clean up messes every damn day. What was he doing there! Of course, he\u2019s a little wise guy. Here\u2019s the president this morning on Fox & Friends. I guess this is… Let\u2019s see he now would report anything that needs to be reported to the FBI.<\/p>\n

THE PRESIDENT: Of course, you have to look at it. Because if you don\u2019t look at it, you\u2019re not gonna know if it\u2019s bad. How are you gonna know if it\u2019s bad? But, of course, you give it to the FBI or report it to the attorney general or somebody like that. But, of course, you do that. You couldn\u2019t have that happen with our country. And everybody understands that. And I thought it was made clear. In fact, I actually said at the beginning, I think I said I\u2019d do both. But how are you going to…? If you don\u2019t hear what it is… Well, if I don\u2019t listen, you\u2019re not gonna know. Now, if I thought anything was incorrect or badly stated, I\u2019d report it to the attorney general, the FBI. I\u2019d report it to law enforcement. Absolutely.<\/p>\n

RUSH: There it is. It\u2019s the exact opposite of what he said yesterday. “I don\u2019t need to call the FBI. Why do I want to call the FBI?” Yesterday was operative. This is trying to clean up a mess that somebody, I\u2019m sure, convinced him he had made — and I know it\u2019s gotta be somebody who\u2019s governed and defined by the media is saying about you. And believe me, those people are all around Trump. They\u2019re all around him in the White House. They\u2019re all around him everywhere he goes. Hell, they\u2019re all around me! I mean, you can\u2019t escape people who think that the media needs to be pandered to. Let me grab a quick call. Mark in Cave Creek, Arizona. Great to have a you. You\u2019re up first towed. CALLER: Hi, Rush. Thanks for taking my call.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: One point nobody\u2019s brought up is why on God\u2019s green earth would Trump call the FBI given their history of Trump-hating corruption? If he did, the only thing they would do is leak it, spin it, and begin another investigation.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That is a great, great point. Given the all too real attempts by the upper echelon of the FBI under the Obama administration to destroy Trump, to lie about him, to try to tell you the election results overturned, why in the world would you trust anything to that organization? The answer is that theoretically that crowd is gone including Rosenstein\u2019s gone. Now you\u2019ve got Christopher Wray running the FBI. You\u2019ve got Barr as the attorney general. So the theory is that the FBI is not made up of those vipers that were out there colluding with MI5 and MI6 and the Brits and the Australians in order to overturn the election results and essence running a silent coup.<\/p>\n

But the point overall is right on the money. If you\u2019re Donald Trump and this happens to you — Comey set you up and all these other people are setting you up and running spies into your organization or trying to — why in the world would you turn anything over you suspect to them? This is the one thing about yesterday that bugged the hell out of me. When did the FBI become so prominent that anything questionable in the campaign they get to determine? When did this start? It\u2019s another mantra or narrative that the media and the Democrats have put into the system now.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Trump is continuing now. He\u2019s on Fox & Friends. Ainsley Earhardt says, “Nancy Pelosi accused you of a criminal cover-up again, Mr. President.” And she did. She\u2019s out there now, after Trump\u2019s comment yesterday that, you know, if he got some sleaze, say, from John Gotti\u2019s family on Joe Biden, he\u2019d take it. Or if he got some sleaze from the French president, Macron on what a phony Elizabeth Warren is, he would take it.<\/p>\n

So now Pelosi\u2019s out there saying this guy is in a cover-up, this guy is a felon, this Trump guy is engaged in a criminal cover-up. That\u2019s what he\u2019s doing. And Ainsley Earhardt wants to know how Trump is reacting to it, and then she said, “Mr. President, was there a criminal cover-up of anything?\u201d<\/p>\n
