RUSH: By the way, an update, ladies and gentlemen. We had the shocking and frightening news last week that the northern hemisphere is losing two minutes of sunlight every day, and if this crisis continues, we will be in total darkness by June or July. Frightening new information has surfaced from Daylight Change Research. The data indicates drastic changes to the environment that have already started. Many species of birds, millions of individual birds have left the northern hemisphere. The impact of the loss of these birds is unimaginable. Insect life has been severely affected. Most can no longer be observed. Large mammals have been observed lying in a state of near death torpor in their dens. Crop production has fallen to dangerously low levels, and the models and the research predict famine in the very near future. In addition, computer models did not project this, but actual eyewitness observation has shown that most, if not all, leaves have fallen off all trees in the researcher\u2019s hometown. Now, these and other effects of the loss of daylight demand our immediate attention if we are to prevent a climate catastrophe. Remember, total darkness and everything that would result from it by June or July if we cannot enact policies now that change this leakage. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Rick in Sarasota, Florida. You are first as we go to the phones today, sir, nice to have you with us.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Merry Christmas dittos, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m happy to tell you that the loss of daylight crisis is over.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Not where I live. I mean it got dark yesterday same time it did last week. I didn\u2019t check to see if we\u2019re losing light in the morning or whatever, but I mean look, there\u2019s still no leaves on the trees, there\u2019s still no birds in the northern hemisphere.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, they\u2019ll be back.<\/p>\n

RUSH: We\u2019ve got record cold up there. I don\u2019t see any signs here that daylight\u2019s coming back.<\/p>\n

CALLER: The only question is who do we thank for this miracle?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well —<\/p>\n

CALLER: We can\u2019t thank Obama, he\u2019s not in office yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I think you\u2019re a denier. You are a denier. You are a denier of the disaster. You\u2019re trying to say that this is all cyclical and that it\u2019s going to come back and that you think it\u2019s already started coming back, but you can\u2019t prove it and you\u2019re using this program here as a vehicle here to doubt what are obvious conclusions. I mean legions of scientists have done this, they\u2019ve run this on their models, and there\u2019s no question that we\u2019re losing daylight. There is a consensus of scientists out there who are very alarmed and very concerned that we are losing daylight in the northern hemisphere, not just in the United States, in Canada, in the UK, in parts of China, in North Korea it\u2019s always dark, they\u2019ve got a head start on us. So you can sit there and try to deny this all you want, but eventually you\u2019ll find out, when we get to June and July and there\u2019s no daylight, it\u2019s all down in the southern hemisphere, you\u2019re going to want to move to Rio except for the crime.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you, Rush. Dittos and Merry Christmas.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I just wanted to say, ‘Don\u2019t listen to all the naysayers who believe that this global darkening is a trend that\u2019s going to go away. I think only the Most Merciful, when he gets in office, will be able to take care of this, and it will be by the elimination of all of our HDTVs and DVD players.\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, now, wait a minute. You\u2019re on a cell phone, and I\u2019m having trouble understanding what you\u2019re saying. Obama, you think, will fix the leakage of daylight going to the Southern Hemisphere by doing what? Banning HDTVs and so forth?<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s correct, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. Well, it remains to be seen. I don\u2019t know that it can be fixed. I don\u2019t know that this is something we can do anything about. (interruption) Well, if we cause it. We don\u2019t know what causes it. It\u2019s not been linked to climate change. Something other than climate change is causing this leakage of sunlight. I think, Steve, the answer is obviously going to be tax increases and stimulus package spending, in order to help people get through the darkness. We just can\u2019t stop living and we can\u2019t all move to the Southern Hemisphere. That just won\u2019t work. We\u2019re going to have crop failure. Crops aren\u2019t going to crow. We\u2019re going to become big importers. We\u2019re going to have to redo NAFTA.
