RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, I want to illustrate something. Many people can go on the radio and just tell you what they think, many people can give you their opinions, right, wrong, informed, uninformed, what have you. One of my most recent suggestions to all of you as a means of helping you to keep your sanity through the next, well, two years, four years, 16 years, 20-years, whatever the reign of Obama ends up being, you will go crazy, I said, if you listen to what he says. You will go nuts if you expect the Drive-By Media to in any way be critical. He\u2019s too big to fail. What you must do instead, to understand why his voters love him, is to listen to how he says what he says. I want to illustrate this, and I want to do it using Blago. Blago went out Friday and delivered his defiant denial of having done anything wrong. We have three sound bites here. What I did was ask Paul Shanklin to record verbatim, in his Obama voice, everything that Blago said. I said, ‘Keep the humor out of it. Do not exaggerate Obama affectations. Give me as straight an Obama impersonation as possible.\u2019 And what we\u2019re going to do here, we\u2019ll do a side by side so that you can see what I\u2019m talking about. You listen to a punk like Blagojevich deny it, and you listen to Obama deny it, and you tell me which of the two you would believe. We\u2019ll play the three Blagojevich bites first. Here\u2019s number one.<\/p>\n

BLAGOJEVICH: I\u2019m here to tell you right off the bat that I am not guilty of any criminal wrongdoing, that I intend to stay on the job, and I will fight this thing every step of the way. I will fight, I will fight, I will fight, until I take my last breath. I have done nothing wrong. And I\u2019m not going to quit a job that people hired me to do because of false accusations and a political lynch mob.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Changed my mind. I want to play that same thing with Obama. So Mike, it will be a start-stop here. Here is Obama saying the same thing that Blagojevich said last Friday.<\/p>\n

SHANKLIN AS OBAMA: I\u2019m here to tell you, uh, right off the bat that I am not guilty of any criminal wrongdoing, that I intend to stay on the job, and I will fight this thing every step of the way. I will fight, I will fight, I will fight until I take my last breath. I have done nothing wrong, and I\u2019m not going to quit a job that people hired me to do because of false accusations and a political lynch mob.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right, now, which of those two do you think sounds the more credible, ladies and gentlemen? There\u2019s no contest, right? Obviously The Messiah comes across as deeply sincere, very confident, very self-assured and noncombative. Here\u2019s more of Blago.<\/p>\n

BLAGOJEVICH: Let me tell you what I\u2019m not going to do. I\u2019m not going to do what my accusers and political enemies have been doing, and that is talk about this case in 30-second sound bites on Meet the Press or on the TV news. I\u2019m dying to answer these charges. I am dying to show you how innocent I am.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, do it.<\/p>\n

BLAGOJEVICH: And I want to assure everyone who\u2019s here and everyone who\u2019s listening that I intend to answer every allegation that — that comes my way. However, I intend to answer them in the appropriate forum in a court of law. And when I do, I am absolutely certain that I will be vindicated.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let\u2019s go ahead and play the next Blagojevich bite, and then we\u2019ll play the Obama version.<\/p>\n

BLAGOJEVICH: Rudyard Kipling wrote, ‘If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you, if you can trust yourself when all men doubt you and make allowance for their doubting, too, if you can wait and not be tired by waiting, or being lied about, don\u2019t deal in lies, or being hated, don\u2019t give way to hating.\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right, so there\u2019s Blagojevich reading poetry. Here is now Barack Obama with the Blago transcript.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s totally what Blagojevich said, not how he said it.
