RUSH: This is Jim in Chicago. Nice to have you on the EIB Network, Jim. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: How you doing, Rush?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Good, sir. Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019ve been listening for the last couple of days and the media\u2019s been saying, you know, Obama wouldn\u2019t give him anything, and it\u2019s kind of funny to me that the media all skipped this part of the transcript, where Rod Blagojevich said that the consultants are telling him that he has to suck it up for two years and do nothing. You have to learn how to speak Chicagoan and you have to learn how to speak Chicago politics. What they\u2019re telling him is, ‘You\u2019re drawing too much heat. You gotta wait yourself for two years and in two years when you\u2019re done we\u2019ll take care of you.\u2019 What he\u2019s saying is he wants it up front. But the funny thing is who told him he has to wait for two years? Who was the consultant that told him that? If Obama hadn\u2019t talked to him and Rahm Emanuel didn\u2019t talk to him, who was the one who told him he had to wait for two years?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I don\u2019t know, but I am convinced that it wasn\u2019t Obama or any of his associates. We have no evidence that Obama has been corrupt in his political life. We have no evidence that Obama has engaged in these kinds of sneaky deals. Quite the contrary. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I heard him today in his press conference, Rush, he said some people go into politics to self-aggrandize themselves, and some people go in for sacrifice. If I remember, when I met him a couple years ago when he was a state senator, his credit cards were maxed out and he couldn\u2019t get on a plane to Hawaii. Now he\u2019s a millionaire, and thank God he\u2019s doing all this for the (crosstalk) of the American people.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, no, no, wait a minute. You\u2019re absolutely right about that. But why are you casting aspersions on our president-elect? Everybody knows he wrote a couple books, or Bill Ayers did, and they sold millions of copies, well, hundreds of thousands of copies, and that\u2019s where he got the money.<\/p>\n

CALLER: There\u2019s a saying here in Chicago that says, ‘Cut me in or cut it out.\u2019 And all you gotta do is learn how to speak Chicagoan.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I really think this is getting out of hand, this effort to try to link Obama to all this. I know that he came out of this primordial scum, but now he walks on it, he walks above it, he\u2019s trying to walk a straight line in a crooked world, anybody can see this.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You know, the problem here we have, Rush, is we have one king, it\u2019s Mayor Daley, then you got another king that is speaker of the House that\u2019s Mike Madigan, and then you have another king who is the governor, all three Democrats, and then all of a sudden we elected another Democrat for president. There\u2019s four kings walking around here in Illinois. Someone\u2019s gotta go.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, no, no. No, no, no. See, they got rid of one of them. I\u2019m convinced that Daley did not want Obama running for governor. He didn\u2019t want to have to deal with The Messiah, get him out of the state by having him run for president, lo and behold, he wins. Now they\u2019ve got a whole different set of problems to deal with. Look, Jim, I understand you come from Chicago, and I\u2019m not trying to tell you you don\u2019t know what you\u2019re talking about, because you are obviously more informed about the intricacies of Chicago politics than I. You live there, and I don\u2019t. But I think it\u2019s very, very risky, I think it is very, very unfair to start making these wanton assumptions that our president-elect is tainted by this just because he knows all these people and they helped him get elected and helped him buy his house. I think it\u2019s very unfair of you to start making these giant leaps. The man who promised to lower sea levels and fix everything, is somehow corrupt? You couldn\u2019t get away with saying that about Jesus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
