RUSH: Here is Rick in Bay City, Michigan. Nice to have you, sir. Hello.<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: Good morning, Rush.<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: Hi.<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: My first question when I turned on the television yesterday morning was, ‘What is the going rate to become a Senator to an appointed position?\u2019 I watch all these talking heads talking about, ‘Oh, they\u2019ve never heard of such a thing! It\u2019s never happened before,\u2019 and I said, ‘No. You know, there\u2019s nothing new under the sun.\u2019 These people do this all the time. And then I started thinking about Hillary, and I said, ‘When she said she was going to be a secretary of state, then she wasn\u2019t going to be the secretary of state,\u2019 I said, ‘That\u2019s just a sales ploy. She\u2019s just doing things to up the ante. What does she get out of this deal?\u2019<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: You mean for giving up the Senate seat?<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: Yeah. You know, first she wants to be the secretary of state, and then she doesn\u2019t want to be the secretary of state, and that\u2019s just to get somebody to up the ante here. Does she get her debt retired?<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: Well, you know, I have to confess, you may have a point. If it\u2019s going on in Chicago, which is the motherland for Democrat Party corruption in politics, you gotta figure that it\u2019s happening in other Democrat enclaves as well. Camille Paglia, by the way, in her most recent Salon column has a pretty good question. She looks at all these Clinton people in the cabinet, Obama\u2019s cabinet, and she says (paraphrased), ‘What do the Clintons have on Obama? And if they\u2019ve got something this powerful on Obama, why didn\u2019t they use it during the campaign?\u2019<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: I have no idea.<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: No, I don\u2019t, either. I don\u2019t think anybody has anything on Obama \u2019cause, like David Gergen said, it would be very, very unfair to.<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: The honest-to-God truth is Blagojevich isn\u2019t smart enough to think of this on his own.<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: Well, look, the one thing that the people outside of Chicago don\u2019t really know is that the mayor of Chicago, Daley, runs all this. I\u2019m not saying that Daley put words in Blagojevich\u2019s mouth. But I\u2019m saying whatever\u2019s going on in that state, Daley knows it. Daley approves of it. So I think Obama\u2019s president because Daley wanted him out of Illinois. I don\u2019t think Daley wanted him running for governor there. Why would Daley want to have to deal with a messiah who\u2019s governor of Illinois? Get him the hell out of the state. The last thing anybody expected was that he would win. Now look! AP is finally running stories on his cronies today. On December 10th, AP is final telling us about Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers and Tony Rezko. It\u2019s like, ‘Oh, my God, what have we done here?\u2019 This Blagojevich thing, they\u2019re just running. They\u2019re trying to cover. They\u2019re spreading the wagons, covering the wagons, circling the wagons, everything they can to protect Obama here. I mean, he\u2019s The Messiah who… You know, Jesus walked on water. Obama apparently walks on a cesspool and is untainted by it.<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: (laughs) Well, I have —<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: That\u2019s what they want us to believe.<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: I have no idea how they came up with this plan, but my suspicions run to New York that there\u2019s something else going on here. So…<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: You mean related to Illinois?<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: Well, related in the fact that Senate seats are up for sale.<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: Yeah. Like this. Yeah, like what did it take to get The Lout back out of retirement?<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: Anything\u2019s possible.<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: Yeah, and, look at all of the money that\u2019s in this business. Look at all the money in politics. Every dime is produced by the American people.<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: Well…<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: And where does it end up? It ends up in Washington, state capitals, ends up at your city, ends up at your fire department, ends up at your dogcatcher. (sigh) Yeah. Yeah. That\u2019s the sad thing.
