RUSH: Let\u2019s go to the audio sound bites here. We\u2019re gonna start with number 9. This is President Trump. The media is having a field day with this today. The President Trump press conference was an impromptu thing. He\u2019s on the way to the helicopter, on the way to Colorado for a commencement speech at the Air Force Academy.<\/p>\n

So he comes out of the White House and does the usual stop with the media gaggle, and the Drive-Bys are saying, “This was crazy time today. This was crazy time. This was Trump lying upon lying. He was lying. He was out of his mind; he was out of his gourd! This was weird even for Trump. We\u2019ve never seen Trump this crazy.” This is the flavor that CNN is attaching to this. We\u2019ll just get started. We have a couple bites here and here is the first one…<\/p>\n

\"\"THE PRESIDENT: I think he is a total conflicted person. I think Mueller is a true Never Trumper. He\u2019s somebody that dislikes Donald Trump. He\u2019s somebody that didn\u2019t get a job that he requested that he wanted very badly and then he was appointed. And despite that — and despite $40 million; 18 Trump haters, including people that worked for Hillary Clinton, and some of the worst human beings on earth — they got nothing. It\u2019s pretty amazing.<\/p>\n

RUSH: “Well, this is Trump at his absolute worst. Trump is crazy! This is crazy town.” I was watching CNN a moment ago, and they said even the former chief of staff, John Kelly, said, “This is bizarre. I\u2019ve never seen Trump so out of control as this.” I think people are having a tough time keeping in perspective what happened here. Before I try to put this in some kind of context, in the next sound bite, a reporter says, “Do you believe that Russia helped you get elected?”<\/p>\n

THE PRESIDENT: No, Russia did not help me get elected. You know who got me elected? You know who got me elected? I got me elected. Russia didn\u2019t help me at all. Russia, if anything, I think helped the other side. What you ought to ask is this: Do you think the media helped Hillary Clinton get elected? She didn\u2019t make it. But you take a look at collusion between Hillary Clinton and the media. You take a look at collusion between Hillary Clinton and Russia. She had more to do in the campaign with Russia than I did. I had nothing to do.<\/p>\n

RUSH: “Oh, man, Trump is really losing it now, Trump\u2019s gone nuts, Trump is crazy town, Trump is losing his mind, oh, my God. This is getting bad. We need to get the doctors in there very fast, Trump\u2019s losing his mind.” No. I mean, everything he says here is exactly true. This is the thing that boggles my mind.<\/p>\n

Sorry to repeat this, folks. I\u2019m still kind of shocked by it. Not one out of hundreds of reporters attempted or is attempting to get to the truth of this. Not one. There are careers waiting to be made. There are names waiting to be made. There is money waiting to be made. There are books waiting to be written. There is all kinds of upside waiting to be discovered out there. And not one of them is interested in it.<\/p>\n

It is totally in violation of basic human nature. To not have one of these reporters have any sense of competitive advantage or a competitive streak in them. One more Trump sound bite here. A reporter, “Do you think the Democrats are gonna impeach you?”<\/p>\n

THE PRESIDENT: To me, it\u2019s a dirty word, the word “impeach.” It\u2019s a dirty, filthy, disgusting word. And it had nothing to do with me. There was no high crime and there was no misdemeanor. So how do you impeach based on that? And it came out that there was nothing to do with Russia. The whole thing is a scam. It\u2019s a giant presidential harassment. And honestly, I hope it goes down as one of my greatest achievements. Because I\u2019ve exposed corruption. I\u2019ve exposed corruption like nobody knew existed.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right. Now, to those of you who say, “You know what? Why can\u2019t he just keep walking and get on the helicopter and ignore them?” I understand that. I do. My philosophy is to not talk to these people ever. But I\u2019m not Trump. Trump loves talking to \u2019em, and he loves getting his side out, and he knows that he\u2019s the only one who can.<\/p>\n

I think it\u2019s useful if people could try to remember something. Try to imagine being Trump. I\u2019ve gone at this from any number of different analogies, but try to imagine being Trump. He has achieved the greatest accomplishment of his life and what would be for anybody the greatest achievement in their life. He has been elected president. You look at how he did it. He did it without any assistance at all.<\/p>\n

He did it under fierce opposition from the Democrats, of course, and from the media, from the Washington establishment, but he also did it under fierce opposition from his own party. And he really did do this on his own. He didn\u2019t even raise that much money compared to what your average presidential campaign will raise and spend. He raised some, but I mean nowhere near the amount of money say an Obama would raise or a Bush.<\/p>\n

And he still gets elected, in defiance of every odd there is. Could not happen, should not happen, will not happen. And now he learns of all of the efforts that were undertaken to thwart and undermine his achievement. And for every day, let\u2019s just start from election night forward, but you could actually do this before the election through much of the campaign.<\/p>\n

But from the night of the election on, he has had to listen to some of the biggest lies and allegations said about anybody who\u2019s been elected president in this country, and there\u2019s not been a shred of evidence for it. And he can\u2019t get away from it. The New York Times, the Washington Post, CNN, MSN, the whole media, four or five times a day for over two years: Trump\u2019s a traitor, Trump\u2019s a cheater, the Russians and Trump colluded, Trump\u2019s a Russian agent, this or that.<\/p>\n

And he knows all the while that he didn\u2019t do it. He knows all the while it didn\u2019t happen. And he starts out trying to be cooperative with these people thinking that he\u2019s the president and that they are loyal and we\u2019re all on the same page now. That we all work together to move the country forward. And he finds out that none of that is true. That these people are still arrayed and aligned against him and are doing everything they can to destroy him, including anybody they think who helped him, including his family.<\/p>\n

And all the while, he knows there\u2019s nothing to it! Can you imagine what you would be going through if you had been accused of something — I don\u2019t care big or small — and you know you didn\u2019t do it, and you know there\u2019s no evidence even suggesting that you did it, and yet the onslaught of allegations, character assassination, destruction of friends and family continues.<\/p>\n

Do you think that you would be able to just stay silent and let it roll off your back, not react to it? I don\u2019t think it\u2019s something that very many of us can relate to. I don\u2019t know how many of us have had something like this happen. I\u2019m sure some of you have at work or elsewhere, you\u2019ve been accused, because we all have disputes with people, you\u2019ve been accused of things you didn\u2019t do, and eventually it gets resolved.<\/p>\n

\"\"And then in Trump\u2019s case it gets resolved. He didn\u2019t do it. Even though it was totally unnecessary, even though it was a bogus part of the operation, it still is officially proclaimed no collusion. And yet it doesn\u2019t go away. And yet even after that comes forth, the Mueller report, it ratchets up. It gets even more intense.<\/p>\n

I think a lot of things are perfectly understandable in the context of somebody knows they didn\u2019t do something, and the allegations are — I mean, this is some of the worst stuff you could ever be accused of. In addition to denying you your great personal achievement for which you busted your ass and you outsmarted everybody, you ran rings around them, you worked harder than you ever have, and it paid off, and you won, and they are still trying to take it away from you with nothing more than lies and character assassination.<\/p>\n

And you can\u2019t find anywhere even one proper defense for you in the places where you would expect it, i.e., you would expect the truth to be ferreted out in the mainstream media. It\u2019s gotta be one of the most frustrating things. And anybody who wants, “Oh, Rush, Trump loves this. Trump loves the attention he gets.”<\/p>\n

Look, folks. He doesn\u2019t. This constant reminding that he won this thing and he\u2019s the reason he got elected, not the — they\u2019re trying to take everything in the world away from him. He\u2019s just supposed to sit there politely and let it happen? I don\u2019t think so.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: We just got some sound bites of the president\u2019s commencement speech at the Air Force Academy today. He\u2019s out in Colorado Springs. I want to play these for you, because CNN and the rest of the Drive-Bys are trying to say that what Donald Trump did when he left the White House on the way to Colorado Springs was lose his mind. (sputtering) “Trump was crazy! It was crazy town! He was crazier than we\u2019ve ever seen Trump! This is… Oh, my God, this is bad!”<\/p>\n

So I want you to listen to Trump doing his commencement speech, and I want to you to tell me how is it that you really hate this guy. How can you?<\/p>\n

THE PRESIDENT: To the nearly 1,000 cadets — who I have agreed to shake every single hand.<\/p>\n

CADETS: (wild cheering)<\/p>\n

THE PRESIDENT: They gave me a choice. They said, “Sir, you don\u2019t have to shake any hands. Some people do that.” Those are the smart ones; they\u2019re outta here.<\/p>\n

CADETS: (laughter)<\/p>\n
