<\/p>\nRUSH:\u00a0 So, I just checked the email during the break, and I got an interesting email from a listener, interestingly enough, out on the feces-strewn streets of San Francisco.\u00a0 It was, “Rush, you might be missing this.\u00a0 Isn\u2019t it true, Rush, that the president probably would benefit from being impeached?”\u00a0 Meaning: Wouldn\u2019t that revive and coalesce his base?\u00a0 “And isn\u2019t that why the Democrats haven\u2019t really done it, because they know that the public is opposed to it?”\u00a0 All the polling data shows the public is not in favor of impeachment, and additional polling data shows that most Americans want this investigation dropped and everybody just move on.<\/p>\n

We had those polls yesterday.\u00a0 So the emailer said, “Could Barr be a secret weapon for Trump by this statement encouraging them to go ahead and impeach him?”\u00a0 Well, let\u2019s look at that.\u00a0 I guess it\u2019s strangely possible, I suppose, because one thing is happening now, and this is kind of… I have to tell you, it\u2019s interesting.\u00a0 The Democrats and their impeachment talk has all been (for the most part) behind closed doors.\u00a0 Pelosi\u2019s been trying to shelve it. She\u2019s been trying to tamp it down.<\/p>\n
Whenever Pelosi starts speaking publicly about it, she tries to convince anybody that, “Naw, naw, that\u2019s just talk.\u00a0 We\u2019re not thinking of doing it.”\u00a0 Now here comes Mueller, and he essentially says, “Look, my guidelines over here at the DOJ say I can\u2019t go ahead and charge this creep.\u00a0 You\u2019re gonna have to do it in Congress.”\u00a0 That\u2019s basically what his message is. His message is, “The guidelines here says I can\u2019t do it.\u00a0 So the remedy for this kind of behavior by the president is Congress.”\u00a0 He meant impeachment.\u00a0 So now what\u2019s happening?<\/p>\n
Now you\u2019ve got all these Democrats coming out from behind closed doors and behind the woodwork and they\u2019re openly demanding it now.\u00a0 Nadler, Fauxcahontas, Kamala Harris.\u00a0 It\u2019s added pressure on Pelosi to now do this, to go ahead and impeach Trump.\u00a0 Now, her instincts are not to do it, but this report… Nadler and these guys can\u2019t help themselves.\u00a0 But then you have to ask yourself a question:\u00a0 Impeach him for what?\u00a0 Mueller did not mention any crimes.\u00a0 All Mueller did was say, “We couldn\u2019t exonerate him,” but Mueller didn\u2019t mention any crimes.<\/p>\n
There\u2019s certainly no crimes of collusion, and there\u2019s no stated crimes in obstruction.\u00a0 Now, the House can impeach for anything they want to try for. Don\u2019t misunderstand.\u00a0 But the objective here would be to get a conviction in the Senate, and you\u2019re gonna have to come up with something, and Mueller did not give them anything other than, “Sorry, we can\u2019t get him from here.”\u00a0 You follow me on this?\u00a0 Am I making sense? Mueller essentially says to Pelosi, “Look, you want to get the guy; I want to get the guy. But I can\u2019t get him from here because I am hemmed in by rules.\u00a0 You gotta do it.”<\/p>\n
Nadler and Schiff and the rest of these yokels got the message.\u00a0 “Okay!\u00a0 We\u2019ll do it!”\u00a0 Now they\u2019re demanding it.\u00a0 Nadler\u2019s gonna have a press conference at 2 o\u2019clock.\u00a0 These Democrats can\u2019t help themselves.\u00a0 They can\u2019t shut up.\u00a0 They\u2019re now talking about impeachment, and Pelosi may lose control of this.\u00a0 You\u2019re then brought back to: Okay, impeach him for what?\u00a0 “Well, we don\u2019t like the guy, and he might have colluded, and he might have obstructed, and he…”<\/p>\n
(laughing) But there\u2019s nothing in the report that\u2019s criminal.\u00a0 But, again, impeachment\u2019s political. So it doesn\u2019t matter in terms of starting this.\u00a0 The Democrats can impeach him for anything.\u00a0 Getting the conviction in the Senate is the key, and if you\u2019re not gonna get that, then you don\u2019t start the whole process.\u00a0 It\u2019s the whole thing about, “If you\u2019re gonna take a shot at the king, you better kill him.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
