CALLER: Thanks, Rush. I\u2019m so happy and nervous to talk to you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Don\u2019t be nervous. Don\u2019t be nervous.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I have a question for you. I know you\u2019re not a spiritual advisor, but perhaps you can help me out. When I found out that the majority of Catholics voted for Obama I\u2019ve had trouble as a Catholic attending church without some animosity toward my fellow parishioners. And I was wondering if you had any advice as to, you know…<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, I do.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m not a spiritual advisor, nor am I a spiritual counselor, but you can\u2019t control what they do anyway and as such you should not let anything they do make you feel, I mean, it\u2019s going to make you feel sad or unhappy but it shouldn\u2019t ruin your day. It\u2019s their life that they\u2019re toying with, not yours. They haven\u2019t messed with your values. They didn\u2019t. I don\u2019t know if the word\u2019s corrupt —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — your beliefs and so forth, but, if anything, after you get mad at \u2019em, you might want to spend some time feeling a little sympathy for them because it\u2019s inexplicable to people who are fervent believers in the sanctity of life —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — and are members of a religion that is unbending on that, to sit around and vote for somebody who\u2019s not just pro-choice. This is a man who voted three times for legislation to allow babies born alive in botched abortions not to be saved because the mother\u2019s original intent was to abort the child. I mean, that\u2019s infanticide.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know what? I\u2019d give them the benefit of the doubt, based on what we have learned from polling data. A lot of Obama voters simply didn\u2019t know anything about what he stood for, and I would bet you a bunch of the Catholics that voted for him don\u2019t even know what his pro-abortion position is, because he wasn\u2019t asked constantly. Abortion was barely mentioned in debates. I bet a lot of people didn\u2019t know about it, Terri.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
