Who Were the Mueller Report\u2019s Hired Guns?<\/a> Special Counsel Robert Mueller spent more than $732,000 on outside contractors, including private investigators and researchers, records show, but his office refuses to say who they were. While it\u2019s not unusual for special government offices to outsource for services such as computer support, Mueller also hired contractors to compile \u2018investigative reports\u2019 and other \u2018information.\u2019”<\/p>\nSo he\u2019s got his band of whatever it was, 13 or 16 “we hate Trump” Hillary donor lawyers led by Andrew Weissmann. And then they\u2019ve hired a bunch of other foot soldier investigator types, and the budget for this, as best can be found, is just a little under $800,000.<\/p>\n
There have been numerous requests to the Office of Special Counsel for details on these expenditures and who was hired. And they\u2019re not saying.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe arrangement has led congressional investigators, government watchdog groups and others to speculate that the private investigators and researchers who worked,\u201d with Mueller and his merry band of Trump hating, pro-Hillary donor lawyers, might have included not just Christopher Steele, but Glenn Simpson, Fusion GPS, \u201cthe private research firm that hired Steele to produce the Russia collusion dossier for the Clinton campaign.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey suspect the dossier creators may have been involved in Mueller\u2019s operation \u2013” this is congressional investigators, private investigators, suspect that the creators of the dossier, Fusion GPS and Steele, may have been involved in Mueller\u2019s operation and even had a hand in writing his final report.<\/p>\n
And the reason is the special counsel sent his team to London to meet with Steele within a few months of taking over the — so this guy, everybody\u2019s working off this dossier, which is a crock. Comey was citing it last night as though, \u201cHey, you know, Mueller has it footnoted the golden showers story. We had to track it down. Nobody says it isn\u2019t true yet.\u201d<\/p>\n
Nobody says it isn\u2019t true yet? The whole thing has been blown to smithereens I don\u2019t know how many times, and we continue to find out that it remains the foundation for everything that was used in this investigation. Now, it\u2019s gonna get a little deeper than this. And I\u2019m still trying to figure out how I want to organizationally take it there, because it turns out — and I\u2019m not trying to muddy the waters here — it turns out the FBI first made a deal with Steele to be an informant in February of 2016.<\/p>\n
The dossier wasn\u2019t created until that summer 2016. The FBI claims that the investigation only began in July of 2016 when the Australian ambassador Alexander Downer just happened to be consuming adult beverages with George Papadopoulos, and George Papadopoulos told Alexander Downer that he knows, or knew, that the Russians have a bunch of dirt on Hillary.<\/p>\n
So Downer calls his buds at British intelligence and the FBI and says, “Hey, there\u2019s this Trump kid here that says the Trump campaign knows the Russians have a bunch of dirt.” That\u2019s when the FBI says it began. Yet they hired Steele in February. And we don\u2019t know why. We cannot find out why. Comey even alluded to the fact last night that it is perfectly fine to embed informants in political campaigns.<\/p>\n
Comey, for some reason, had a town hall. Is Comey running for office? Why the hell did Comey get a town hall on CNN? He got a full hour with a stacked deck. But he admitted in this town hall — the sound bite support for this is coming up — he admitted, or acknowledged it\u2019s perfectly fine to embed informants in political campaigns.<\/p>\n

Well, was there one in the Hillary campaign? We don\u2019t know. But there is now surfacing an allusion to the fact that there was an FBI informant in the Hillary campaign. I think a lot of people are doing a bunch of after-the-fact dancing. I think they\u2019re creating this narrative, “Oh, yeah, we had an informant in the Hillary campaign. We didn\u2019t target Trump. We didn\u2019t select him.” Comey\u2019s out there saying, “Oh, it\u2019s perfectly SOP, perfectly natural for the FBI to put informants in political campaigns!” When did this become perfectly natural and the order of the day?<\/p>\n
I think all of this gets boiled down to the fact that so many people are now scared to death of whatever Barr is gonna turn up in his investigation and the inspector general. (chuckle) It\u2019s a bunch of people trying to reset the table so that Barr\u2019s not gonna find anything that looked like it was exclusively targeted to Trump. “Oh, yeah, we had spies in the Clinton campaign. Sure we did. Oh, yeah, that was standard operating procedure.” We\u2019ve also got Comey finally turning on Rosenstein. When I listened to Comey, he was asked about Strzok Smirk and Page.<\/p>\n
(paraphrased) “Yeah, they really gave the FBI a bad name, Anderson. Oh, they just… I mean, their character? They just didn\u2019t have any. It just looked so bad. But the bureau can recover,” as though Comey hasn\u2019t done anything to damage the FBI, and he said, “Rosenstein just did not have the moral fortitude, did not have the character to be deputy attorney general. It was a shame.” Well, remember, Rosenstein\u2019s the reason that Comey got fired.<\/p>\n
But, anyway, back to this assertion here that it is likely that Robert Mueller hired Christopher Steele and Fusion GPS, because we have learned that the special counsel sent his team to London to meet with Steele after taking over the collusion investigation in the spring of 2017. Now, by this time, anybody and everybody knew that the dossier was unverified. It was uncorroborated. Comey had admitted this to Trump in January of 2017.<\/p>\n
He had admitted it in testimony before Congress, and everybody knew it. The FBI knew it when the State Department… John Solomon\u2019s story yesterday: The State Department knew that the Steele dossier had not a shred of truth in it. Mueller had to know. Mueller had to know. When he took over the investigation, it had been underway for a while. He takes it over \u2019cause he gets appointed. Comey hands him the file, and (as I told you), there\u2019s nothing in it because there was never any evidence! All they ever had was the Steele dossier.<\/p>\n
They used it at the FISA court, they used it to justify everything they\u2019ve done, and now we find out that Mueller went to talk to Steele. We don\u2019t know if it was Mueller himself, but Paul Sperry says here that Mueller “sent his team to London.” Well, his team would have been Weissmann. His team would have been all the people who wanted the dossier to be useful, whether it\u2019s a pack and pack of lies or not. So they sent a bunch of people over to Steele in London, no doubt to find a way to make his dossier useful for their investigation.<\/p>\n

It remains the only thing they\u2019ve ever had, and there\u2019s not a word of it that is true. So how do you feel about the fact that the special counsel — Mr. Integrity, Mr. Honorable, Mr. Boy Scout…? I mean, when he\u2019s appointed, they told us, “Robert Mueller is the only person that could really do this because he\u2019s the only one who doesn\u2019t have a care in the outcome; he is Mr. Integrity.” How many times have we heard this?<\/p>\n
And I maintain to you that if he was all that, he would have looked at the file on one day one, and as soon as he found out the Steele dossier was a bunch of crap, he would have shut it down. He would have been the adult in the room, and he would have told everybody, “It\u2019s time to stop this charade. You\u2019re damaging the country. You\u2019re damning the Constitution.” But no. He was in on it. You know, folks, no matter how you look at it — no matter how you rip it apart and try to put it back together again — it all comes down to Mueller.<\/p>\n
Have you noticed how quiet Mueller is lately? Mueller had the opportunity to do something few Americans can do. Robert Mueller had the opportunity to change the course of history in America. He had this vaulted, great reputation: Mr. Integrity, Mr. Honorable, Mr. Pick Your Adjective. He was the creme de la creme. He was uncorruptible. He could have stopped this whole thing the moment he realized that there was no “there” there. The minute he realized, the moment he learned — whether it was before he took the job as special counsel or after.<\/p>\n
The moment he learned that the only, quote-unquote, “evidence” that provided the foundation for this investigation was a pack of lies — unverifiable, uncorroborated — he could have saved his country from these last two years of division, speculation, innuendo, uncertainty. But, no. He participated in it — and in the process, a bunch of innocent people\u2019s lives have been destroyed. They\u2019ve lost their lifetime fortunes, whatever amount of money we\u2019re talking about. A bunch of people that really didn\u2019t do anything until this investigation revved up.<\/p>\n
He had the opportunity to prevent all of the disaster of the past two years, and I\u2019m saying this because this is how he was presented to us. He was presented to us as a person who\u2019s apolitical. Yeah, he\u2019d been a Republican, but he had served all Washington administrations, Democrat and Republican. He was above it all! He could have looked at this and, in one day, realized there was nothing to it. But he didn\u2019t. He decided to get in on this action and become a major player in the effort to reverse the results of the 2016 election.<\/p>\n
He continued on for two long years.<\/p>\n
He is still continuing.<\/p>\n
He has written an absolute disaster of a report which stands justice on its head, both constitutional justice and Department of Justice regulations. He produces this steaming pile of crap that is forever going to be known as the Mueller report. It has been reported by everybody, and it has been verified by Barr that Robert Mueller helped do the redactions. These redactions are the reason the Democrats are having a manufactured constitutional conniption fit. Robert Mueller can still say it.<\/p>\n

He could still stand up, he could still present himself, and he could still point out that the arguments being made about redactions are untrue because he participated in them. He helped the attorney general! “If you\u2019re gonna hold the attorney general in contempt, you better hold me in contempt.” But he\u2019s not doing that. He\u2019s continuing to side with the people who obviously have one objective, and that\u2019s reversing the election results in 2016 and getting Donald Trump out of office.<\/p>\n
He has had the opportunity to save this country twice, Robert Mueller has. He has the unique opportunity to come out, or to leak a letter to the New York Times to say that he fully supports the redactions and feels strongly they should be left unseen and unreleased. “The report says there\u2019s nothing and everybody just needs to just move on! There\u2019s nothing in it that you don\u2019t know.”<\/p>\n
He could do this. He could have done it yesterday, could have done it last week, could do it this day. But where is he? Where is the Boy Scout? Where is Dudley Do-Right when the country needs him? Nowhere. Radio silence. This is so low to allow this to continue when he knows it\u2019s all bogus. He knew it was bogus. So for me, the next time they tell me that so-and-so is Mr. Integrity in Washington, D.C.? (Raspberry!) to that, \u2019cause I\u2019m not gonna believe it.<\/p>\n

And we\u2019ve also learned that Fusion GPS has rehired Christopher Steele to continue anti-Trump work on behalf of a Washington based nonprofit called the Democracy Integrity Project. That\u2019s run by a guy named Daniel Jones, who is a former staffer of Senator Dianne Feinstein.
