RUSH: Are you ready for this? Nancy Pelosi says that Donald Trump is goading Democrats into impeaching him to solidify his base. Donald Trump is trolling them. There\u2019s another story — what\u2019s her name — Karen Tumulty, the Washington Post: Trump is trolling us in the media and we have to stop falling for it<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

And what she\u2019s upset about — you know, Jerry Falwell Jr. put a tweet out there saying Trump is owed two additional years on his presidential term because of the two years that have been wasted on this phony coup attempt. And so Trump retweeted Jerry Falwell Jr.\u2019s tweet and acts like, \u201cYeah, this would be a great idea. Give me two additional years.\u201d And that is where they came up with the idea that Trump will not leave the White House if he loses in 2020.<\/p>\n

Folks, we thought it was crazy when they fell for Trump asking the Russians to help find Hillary\u2019s emails. These people are so off the rails, they are so devoid of any common sense, and it\u2019s rooted in a lack of a sense of humor, but they have been so discombobulated by Trump that they simply have lost their moorings.<\/p>\n

For Nancy Pelosi to say that Trump is goading the Democrats into impeaching him to shore up the support of his base, as though Trump has anything to do with this? The only reason Nancy Pelosi\u2019s insane Democrats are running around talking about impeaching Trump is that Trump is making them do it?<\/p>\n

Trump is goading them, Trump is trolling them, Trump is teasing them, and they\u2019re falling for it, and so Pelosi says that her Democrats are helpless, her Democrats cannot resist the trolling of Donald Trump. Donald Trump goads and the Democrats respond. And she\u2019s trying to get her Democrats to react to this by saying, \u201cYou gotta stop this. This is what Trump wants. He wants us to impeach him.\u201d<\/p>\n

But the Jerry Falwell Jr. tweet is classic: Trump is owed an additional two years on his term. Trump retweets it and the Democrats and media fall for it. This is the root of Pelosi yesterday worrying that Trump will not leave in 2020 because he\u2019s asking for an additional two years.<\/p>\n

And now they have been flipped upside down today because the White House has instructed the former White House counsel Don McGahn not to comply with congressional subpoenas demanding his records, demanding his papers, demanding his documents on whether or not Trump obstructed, whether or not Trump ordered him to fire Mueller and all this stuff.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

That goes along with the now up to 500 former federal prosecutors who have signed a letter claiming that if Trump were not president, that any of these obstruction events found in the Mueller report, he would have been indicted. It\u2019s only because he\u2019s president that he wasn\u2019t indicted. And the conflict — I\u2019ll tell you their real target on that is the Office of Legal Counsel.<\/p>\n

The Office of Legal Counsel, the lawyers\u2019 lawyers, and they have determined the Department of Justice way, way back in the 1970s sitting presidents cannot be indicted. You know why? Well, for obvious reasons, but in addition the president is the grand pooh-bah and the head honcho of the executive branch and so firing people, including special counsels and investigators is entirely within his constitutional purview.<\/p>\n

So how in the world do you indict a president for executing his constitutionally approved and authorized duties? So no indictment. But what they\u2019re aiming to do is get that changed. They\u2019re making a direct hit, I think, not on Trump — of course everything\u2019s aimed at Trump — the real target here is the Office of Legal Counsel. And it\u2019s not gonna change, if it does at all, in nearly enough time.<\/p>\n

You know, a lot of people get upset with this stuff. And some days I do too. But I was telling Mr. Snerdley, folks, I don\u2019t know why, I must have awakened from the deepest REM sleep, \u2019cause I am just exhausted tired. And I didn\u2019t get short-changed. I got plenty of sleep last night. You would never know had I not told you. You couldn\u2019t know. Energy level sounds like it\u2019s normal.<\/p>\n

But when my energy level is down a little bit, I\u2019m less tense and I\u2019m less irritated at things. You know, more people get irritated when they\u2019re tired. I get less. But this stuff just strikes me as comical.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>There\u2019s another poll out there today by Scott Rasmussen. Scott Rasmussen no longer has anything to with The Rasmussen Reports poll. He\u2019s gone. He\u2019s out of there. I don\u2019t know how it happened. I used to know but I\u2019ve forgotten it. Anyway, Scott Rasmussen\u2019s running his own poll out there and there are a lot of people that are upset by this. Let me share the details.<\/p>\n

The poll says that 57% of Democrats believe that Trump is guilty of treason<\/a>. Why is that a shocker? Fifty-seven percent of Democrats believe Trump is guilty of treason. Only 14% of Democrats don\u2019t believe Trump committed treason. Twenty-nine percent of Democrats are not sure.<\/p>\n

“On the other hand, Republicans rejected the idea by an 82 to 7% margin,” 82% of Republicans think he\u2019s not a traitor, not guilty of treason. “Of those under 35…” Wait… (sigh) Independent voters: 30% believe Trump has committed treason; 44% do not. All of this makes sense. None of this is a surprise to me. Let me just ask you: If 57% of Democrats think that Trump is a traitor, committed treason, does that shock you? What do they watch? CNN, MSNBC. What do they read? New York Times, Washington Post.<\/p>\n

What do you think they\u2019re gonna think? They don\u2019t listen to this show, and they don\u2019t watch Fox News. They don\u2019t expose themselves to anything other than what they feel comfortable with in their cocoons, and they probably didn\u2019t even… You might say, “But the Mueller says there\u2019s no collusion.” The media is not reporting that. The media is continuing along the lines that there is collusion in there and that Barr is covering up. You have to keep in mind what these people are consuming news-wise.<\/p>\n

The Drive-By Media is keeping the collusion narrative alive. James Comey is keeping it alive. Clapper and Brennan are keeping it alive as they testify (quote-unquote) when they appear on television. I\u2019m, frankly, a little surprised that it\u2019s only 57% of Democrats who think Trump is traitorous. With as consistently as the media has covered this for 2-1\/2 years, you would think the numbers would be even higher. Let\u2019s see some other details here.<\/p>\n

“Among all voters, 33% believe the president is guilty of treason; 45% percent say no.” Now, if you want to say, “Rush, that\u2019s still a high number, 33%…” No, it makes perfect sense! Look, I\u2019m not saying it\u2019s not a concern. I\u2019m just telling you, it makes perfect sense given the media divide in this country. Frankly, if you look at all voters and 33% believe the president\u2019s guilty of treason, that\u2019s a media fail to me. That\u2019s a media fail.<\/p>\n

That number needs to be way over 50% if they\u2019re gonna have any chance of impeaching Trump, and they barely get over 50% with just Democrats alone. Let\u2019s see what else we have here. “The belief the president committed treason is shared by 28% of men, 37% of women. There is a significant age gap. Forty-eight percent of those under 35 believe he\u2019s guilty…” That makes perfect sense. We\u2019re talking Millennials. What do they read?<\/p>\n

Yahoo News and who knows whatever else — Vox and all these other Millennial news sites, Apple News. What do you think they\u2019re gonna think? What do you think they\u2019re gonna be exposed to? What was the purpose of these last two years? To create this exact perception: That Trump is a Russian agent, that Trump stole the election, that it was duly constituted for Hillary Clinton and Trump and the Russians got together and they worked some kind of magic and stole it. I mean, look: 2-1\/2 years of a never-ending drumbeat on that is gonna win some converts.<\/p>\n

Then you throw in the Mueller “Savior of the World” aspect, the Mueller report ongoing during many of these two years. Frankly, the fact that among all voters, only 33% believe Trump is guilty of treason… Look, don\u2019t misunderstand. It\u2019s outrageous, folks. I understand it\u2019s an outrageously high number. (chuckles) But it\u2019s a teachable moment. It\u2019s illustrative. It\u2019s explanatory. It\u2019s informative. And it is an indication of the divide in the country where even we are a divided media country.<\/p>\n

“Voters remain evenly divided on the question of…” And, by the way, it\u2019s a Rasmussen poll, not even Rasmussen Reports. It\u2019s Scott Rasmussen. He\u2019s out on his own now. I don\u2019t even know what the track record of this poll is. “Voters remain evenly divided on the question of whether the president colluded with the Russian government during the 2016 campaign: 42% say yes; 41% say no.” How do you get 42% say yes and only 33% say he\u2019s a traitor? So it\u2019s disjointed enough that… In one sense, it makes perfect sense.<\/p>\n

(laughing) But I can\u2019t get past the humor of the day. We\u2019re all wondering, “Wasn\u2019t it Pelosi who got all bent out of shape that Trump would not leave unless he is defeated by a landslide?” Now here\u2019s a Jerry Falwell Jr. tweet (laughing) that Trump is owed an additional two years! They\u2019re out there thinking that Falwell Jr. means it and that Trump meant it when he retweeted it. It\u2019s classic.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s other polling data out there. Joe Biden. Joe Biden, all of a sudden, has taken a 32-point lead over Crazy Bernie! A 32-point lead! Biden has a 32-point lead in the Democrat presidential race in a Hill-Harris poll that was released yesterday. Biden, 46%, compared to 14% for Crazy Bernie. Mayor Pete, who has also jumped the shark… (chuckles) Mayor Pete asks: What do you mean, America great?<\/p>\n

America\u2019s never been that great. What are you talking about? So Mayor Pete says America “was never as great as advertised.” So Mayor Pete may have jumped the shark out there, as every Democrat makes every prediction I have ever made come true about their opinions of this country — and their opinions of this country are not very high, and they\u2019re not very good.<\/p>\n

And they\u2019re not very complimentary. And they can\u2019t wait to tell everybody what a rotten place they think America is, while thousands and thousands are trying to break the law to get in here every day. But a 32-point lead. Joe Biden beating anybody, leading anybody by 32 points? That\u2019s unheard of. It\u2019s unpredictable. It\u2019s unpredicted. It\u2019s unbelievable. Joe Biden, Plugs, with a 32-point lead over Crazy Bernie?<\/p>\n

Crazy Bernie was the presumptive nominee in 2016, except for the rigged Democrat primaries that Hillary Clinton and the DNC ran on him. Let\u2019s see. So Mayor Pete\u2019s back there. It\u2019s 14% for Crazy Bernie; Mayor Pete, 8%. Fauxcahontas is at 7%. “Since he officially entered the race in April, Biden has seen an increase in public support and become the clear frontrunner in the race.” Yeah, because he had such a magnificent campaign rollout. (laughing) I\u2019m joking.<\/p>\n

It was the worst campaign rollout we\u2019ve of seen since Obamacare. Kamala Harris, fourth place, 6%. She\u2019s out there promising the first thing she gonna do is get rid of the tax cut and reverse all of this prosperity that\u2019s not fair. Beto O\u2019Rourke and Corey Booker, 3%. Boy, you talk about a guy where the floor just gave you way? Poor Beto. What happened to Beto? Beto is just… This had to happen. I mean, the guy loses a Senate race and is said to be one of the frontrunners for the Democrat presidential nomination?<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s see. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii and Julian Castro (former HUD secretary), John Delaney, Kirsten Gillibrand, Michael Bennet are between 1% and 2%. Tim Ryan (Democrat, Ohio), Andrew Yang, Marianne Williamson, Jay Inslee, Eric Swalwell, Amy Klobuchar, Governor John Hickenlooper, and Wayne Messam (the mayor of Miramar, Florida) received 0%. No respondents expressed support for Representative Seth Moulton (Democrat, Massachusetts) or former Senator Mike Gravel (Democrat, Alaska), and 4% of respondents named somebody else.<\/p>\n

But that\u2019s one thing. What happened to Bernie? Did Bernie get in trouble with his proposed reward for murder and terrorism by suggesting they be able to vote? I mean, is Bernie…? (interruption) Well, that\u2019s the thing. Bernie Sanders literally owned the Democrat progressive movement. Now, what has happened here? ‘Cause Plugs… Plugs is not gonna come in and take away the progressives. These people have to be abandoning Crazy Bernie rather than being excited about Plugs. So what did Bernie do?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>(laughs) Have you heard about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? You people who have never lived in New York are not gonna do this. She had no idea what a garbage disposal was. They\u2019re not legal in New York. You know why? The trash union. If you get rid of your trash in a garbage disposal, there\u2019s less trash to pick up. I discovered this. I moved to New York in 1988, and there\u2019s no garbage disposal. I said, “What the hell is this? What do you do with it?”<\/p>\n

“Well, you put it in a trash bag and you take it out in the trash.”<\/p>\n

“Are you kidding? What\u2019s gonna stop the rats from getting it?”<\/p>\n

“Nothing.”<\/p>\n

“Oh, so that\u2019s why there\u2019s a vermin problem.”<\/p>\n

“Yeah.”<\/p>\n

No garbage disposals to protect the garbage union, in part. There\u2019s another stated reason. With all the high-rises, that\u2019s a lot of pipes to get gummed up by people putting the wrong things in the disposals. So, anyway, Cortez moved into her palatial digs in Washington and there\u2019s this switch above her sink, and she doesn\u2019t know what it is. So she turns it on and the sink starts going nuts on her. It starts making this gigantic racket. She says, “Oh, my God, what\u2019s this?” And they had to tell her, “It\u2019s a garbage disposal.”<\/p>\n

She had never heard of one.<\/p>\n

She had never seen a garbage disposal. (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay. We\u2019ve got this Pelosi sound bite here. First it\u2019s Hillary Clinton ripping me off by telling everybody that she and her husband are living rent free in Donald Trump\u2019s head, and now listen to Pelosi. This is when Pelosi accuses Trump of goading Democrats into impeaching him to solidify his base. Listen to how she explained this. This is at Cornell University\u2019s Institute of Politics and Global Affairs \u201cInside Congress\u201d event this morning.<\/p>\n

PELOSI: Don\u2019t tell anybody I told you this.<\/p>\n

AUDIENCE: (laughter)<\/p>\n

PELOSI: Trump, I use his name, Trump is goading us to impeach him, that\u2019s what he\u2019s doing. Every single day, he\u2019s just like taunting, taunting, taunting, because he knows that it would be very divisive in the country, but he doesn\u2019t really care. He just wants to solidify his base. We can\u2019t impeach him for political reasons.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s all impeachment is. Impeachment is a political process, Madam Speakerette. But what is this? “Don\u2019t tell anybody I told you this.” Why, it was just yesterday that I used that same technique, \u201cKeep this between us, folks. I don\u2019t want anybody else beside you to know this.\u201d And then she\u2019s using it.<\/p>\n

But, anyway, here it is. She\u2019s telling a bunch of students this. Cornell University\u2019s Institute of Politics and Global Affairs. \u201cTrump is goading us to impeach him.\u201d She\u2019s admitting that the poor schlubs in her party are powerless against the goading of Donald Trump. That her members would otherwise be minding their own business and trying to pass that welfare program or this welfare program or this giveaway program, but instead they are trying to impeach Donald Trump because Donald Trump wants them to. Donald Trump is goading them. \u201cDonald Trump knows he can\u2019t be impeached, but he wants us to do it to solidify his base.\u201d You mean you people have no power to resist this goading from Donald Trump?<\/p>\n

Another poll, by the way. In addition to Biden taking a 32-point lead over Crazy Bernie, Monmouth University poll released yesterday: Only 10% of Americans have a positive view of socialism. Can you imagine the abject panic in the Democrat Party? Monmouth is a poll they all believe.<\/p>\n

Only 10% favor it? A majority of Americans oppose socialism? This is their entire agenda, particularly these young Millennial Turks, these AOC types. Could this explain Crazy Bernie jumping the shark? I don\u2019t know.<\/p>\n

RUSH: By the way, I\u2019m now told that garbage disposals are legal in New York City. They have been for 10 years or so. Legalized in 1997, I think. But they\u2019re still pretty rare. And some co-op boards still do not allow them. And that is why Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had never seen one, had never even heard of one.<\/p>\n

When\u2019s the last time you saw a garbage disposal advertised on TV? You don\u2019t, do you? Why is that? Why are garbage disposals never advertised on TV? Well, you all know about them, but you don\u2019t even buy them. They\u2019re just in the kitchen when you move into a house or when you build a house. They just get put in. It\u2019s not even an elective thing, except for people like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who\u2019s never heard of one. It\u2019s stunning.<\/p>\n

They talk about George Bush and that phony story where he didn\u2019t recognize a supermarket scanner and here\u2019s Cortez admitting she doesn\u2019t even know when she\u2019s looking at one and listening to it operate, doesn\u2019t even know what it is. And this is a woman who\u2019s got all the answers on health care, has all the answers on every societal problem and doesn\u2019t know what a garbage disposal is.<\/p>\n

\"\"By the way, note to Nancy Pelosi: Trump\u2019s base is solidified. He doesn\u2019t need you to impeach him for his base to be solid. His base has been solidified since the campaign. And his base is more solid than ever, and it is growing, Madam Pelosi, whether you go through this impeachment rigmarole or not.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, the thing surprising about that is that as much as all of this has been in the news, Crazy Bernie leading the pack of the Democrat Party and here comes Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and all of the media attention on socialism and promoting socialism, people come up and say, “Well, look at Venezuela. Socialism has never worked anywhere it\u2019s been tried. It results in totalitarianism, communism, walls keep people in, people end up getting killed, look at Venezuela.”<\/p>\n

And the answer, “Well, Venezuela is only failing it because Trump\u2019s undermining it. Trump\u2019s running a coup down there. And besides, the right people haven\u2019t tried it.” With all the media attention promoting socialism, how does this poll even happen? It\u2019s Monmouth. They believe it. Only 10% favor socialism. And that polls comes out the day after a poll showing Bernie Sanders now trailing Plugs Biden by 32 points.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: We talked about Republicans bringing back Jim Crow. This seems to be a standard Democrat Party campaign allegation, that the Republican candidate or president is a Civil War version racist. Joe Bite Me is out there accusing Republicans of trying to bring back the Jim Crow era<\/a>.<\/p>\n

How many people can even define that anymore? You go up and ask your average person, \u201cWhat is the Jim Crow era? Can you explain? Can you define, could you answer an essay test question on what is the Jim Crow era?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, I don\u2019t know, but it was really bad. This guy Jim Crow out there apparently didn\u2019t like people and is a Republican, right?\u201d<\/p>\n

Yeah, right. Biden is saying, \u201cSpeaking of dignity, we have to protect \u2026 the single most important right you have as an American. The right to vote.” Republicans are always trying to stop people from voting. Isn\u2019t that fascinating? Republicans are always trying, by simply trying to get voter ID. The Democrats are trying to get as many illegal people to vote as they can, but somehow it\u2019s the Republicans that are engaging here in voter suppression.<\/p>\n

How many voting rights acts have we had? How many more voting rights acts do we need? You know, this is one of these perpetual, never-ending complaints the Democrats have been using for centuries. As though we\u2019ve never fixed the problem. As though still to this day a bunch of people who want to vote are not being allowed to vote because Republicans won\u2019t let them.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, voter turnout in presidential raises is reaching an all-time high. The Democrats are having such trouble with it, they want to now go screw up the Electoral College.<\/p>\n

Kamala Harris claims that Andrew Gillum and Stacey Abrams should be governors<\/a>. Yeah, yeah, and I should be an owner of an NFL time. So what?<\/p>\n

\"\"\u201cSen. Kamala Harris (D., Calif.) questioned the integrity of American elections Sunday, claiming the Florida and Georgia elections were unjustly decided.\u201d See how easy that is?<\/p>\n

\u201cHarris made the comments at the NAACP\u2019s 64th annual Fight for Freedom Fund Dinner. She alleged the results of American elections were illegitimate, claiming \u2018the very foundation of our democracy is under attack.\u2019”<\/p>\n

Wait, the Russians got involved there, too, huh? You see what these people are doing and have done? (interruption) What freedom are they fighting for? The freedom to fund. This is the freedom fund dinner, the freedom to fund. Meaning the freedom to take money from people. What freedom do we not have that we\u2019re fighting for yet? Well, it is a legitimate question. That\u2019s a good rhetorical question.<\/p>\n

But the point is, these people are doing more to damage the integrity of elections than the Russians or Fusion GPS or any of these other hackers could ever hope to. And they won\u2019t let it go. And they know it\u2019s a crock. Stacey Abrams lost the election. Andrew Gillum lost the election. If there was fraud, let them assert it and let them prosecute it, but neither did.<\/p>\n

They continue to run around crying over spilt milk. Kamala Harris wasn\u2019t finished. She said, “This guy in the White House said neo-Nazis were fine people when they marched in Charlottesville.” No, he didn\u2019t. He did not say neo-Nazis are fine people. He didn\u2019t come close to saying that. Another media myth, more fake news, an amplified, gigantic lie.<\/p>\n

Kamala Harris says, \u201cTrump isn\u2019t trying to make America great. He\u2019s trying to make America hate.\u201d Really? You people really think that\u2019s how you win the presidency? Sadly, I think they do. I think they have such a distorted view of the middle class in this country. The modern American Democrat Party, you want to talk about hate, it\u2019s you they hate.<\/p>\n

It is the great unwashed, it is the flyover section of the country that they hate. It is the middle class. They despise you, and especially if you voted for Trump. But if you haven\u2019t voted for them — even when they threw you away, when they threw away the white working class segment of the electorate in 2011, the fact that you went away when they threw you overboard means you\u2019re rotten. You should have still voted for \u2019em even after they told you that they didn\u2019t want your vote anymore.
