CALLER: Hi, Rush. Happy Friday.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Same to you, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. It used to be Friday was a payday but we\u2019re paid biweekly now, one other thing that slows us down here. But I wanted to —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Don\u2019t worry, it\u2019s going to change.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) I wanted to thank you —<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re going to get paid every day, Cedric.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) <\/p>\n

RUSH: Gas tank\u2019s going to get filled up, your mortgage is going to get paid off, no worries.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, I called to thank you, honestly, because I had been, for about five years my coworker was a Republican, every day arguing and debating the ideology of the parties, but, you know, he was a listener, you know, Rush and Hannity, he listened, and he pretty much got turned off by the daily smears and no real Republican message.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What, your Republican buddy got turned off by the daily smears?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, he voted for Barack. I was amazed. It wasn\u2019t because of me, it was because of you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019ll bet you a dollar to a doughnut if we\u2019d have had a nominee that had been articulating what your Republican buddy\u2019s ideas, core principles are, that he would have voted for that nominee.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, that\u2019s what he said. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, how do you blame me for that? I didn\u2019t nominate our guy.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, but he was turned off by the daily smears, the —<\/p>\n

RUSH: What daily smears?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No message, just daily smears —<\/p>\n

RUSH: From who?<\/p>\n

CALLER: — attacks.<\/p>\n

RUSH: From me?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, you and Hannity.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, come on, Cedric. All we did was tell the truth about who Obama is when our colleagues on the Drive-By Media wouldn\u2019t. We\u2019re not smearing anybody. Is it a smear to play Reverend Wright?<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s an association game, and it had no place —<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s no game. It\u2019s his pastor. He chose him for 20 years. Pastor baptized the two kids, his wife is sitting there all — everybody around Obama was angry all —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Let me ask you, did you ever see the PBS interview, the Moyers interview with Reverend Wright which —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — put everything in perspective?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I did. I heard about they took the snippets. None of that was out of context. When you say God damn America —<\/p>\n

CALLER: It was out of context, which —<\/p>\n

RUSH: It wasn\u2019t out of context. It wasn\u2019t out of context. When you say after 9\/11 America\u2019s chickens are coming home to roost and we got what we deserved, there\u2019s no out of context there, Cedric.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, but it\u2019s metaphorically — the point he was putting across is we can\u2019t go out and do things around the world —<\/p>\n

RUSH: We didn\u2019t. See, there you go, blaming the United States and saying we\u2019re guilty and responsible for the terrorist attack against us, that\u2019s not smearing, that\u2019s trying to tell people the truth.
