RUSH: To Fredericktown, Missouri, which is right up the road from where I grew up in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Chuck, hello, and welcome to Open Line Friday.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, Rush, thanks for taking my call.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: First of all I want to say that my wife and I were very privileged, about two months ago we got to meet your uncle, the honorable Judge Limbaugh. <\/p>\n

RUSH: What were you charged with?<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) That\u2019s great. My wife and I are wedding videographers here in southeast Missouri but we do a lot of our work in the St. Louis area and he was actually officiating a ceremony there and we got to spend about 30 minutes with him between the ceremony and reception and really got to hear some great stories. I won\u2019t go into detail on that. But the reason of my call is, yesterday morning we attended a Sarah Palin rally in Cape Girardeau and it was awesome. The people were excited —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let me tell people about this.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It was at the Show Me Center, it\u2019s the university basketball arena and they use it for other purposes there, 7,000 people. They had to put 3,000 people more outside in satellite places. It was overflowing.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s right. It was awesome. We were very fortunate, a friend and I, my wife was with me, she chose to sit down. A friend and I got to stand right along the rail. We were not 15 feet from Governor Palin when she spoke. It was awesome. She was on fire, people were excited, it was very invigorating. We\u2019ve been really down because of the polls. I know we\u2019re in a very red state here, but there\u2019s still a chance. People are so pessimistic —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let me tell you, I just saw a number — let me get the source for this. It\u2019s Politico. Latest polling data, only 65% of blacks in Missouri say they are for Obama, in the latest poll. That\u2019s unheard of, I mean black vote for Obama is supposed to go 99% to 1%, 65% Missouri. Again, everything\u2019s all over the place, but you nailed it, they\u2019re trying to dispirit and disillusion you. Stay motivated. This is doable.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: This is Lynn in Del Rio, Texas, I\u2019m glad you waited. Great to have you on the program.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you, sir. It\u2019s a privilege. I\u2019ll try and be brief because I know there are a lot of great people that are trying to get through. My question for you is why don\u2019t these Obama supporters hear what\u2019s really being said to them? What they\u2019re being told by Obama, by the Democrats is that they\u2019re too ignorant and that they\u2019re incapable of succeeding on their own. They\u2019re telling them that they\u2019re so weak that they need the government to carry them. Why?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Because they already think that about themselves. I\u2019m serious. I\u2019m not trying to be funny even though I\u2019m sure people are laughing with mirth across the fruited plain. This has been the message of the Democrat Party for 30 years or more that, you are incompetent, that you\u2019re incapable of making life\u2019s decision, we need to do it for you. And these rich people and people that have more than you, they\u2019re screwing you even further. We\u2019re gonna get even with them. Fouad Ajami, Wall Street Journal, had great piece yesterday about the crowd. His take is that when the crowd gathers for Obama, they\u2019re not listening to anything. They\u2019re there because of the way they feel, the group, the large crowd, they feel like everybody\u2019s equal for that moment, and it is what they desire and have desired all their lives, equality, everybody the same, nobody better, nobody worse than anybody else. They\u2019re not listening to Obama speak. They\u2019re feeling it. I do not like people who don\u2019t think. I have no tolerance, little, because I gotta include kids in this. But adults, I have so little tolerance for people that do nothing but feel. I really have little patience with them, because I don\u2019t know how to relate to them.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I don\u2019t understand why these people — I hear what you\u2019re saying, and I know that\u2019s what the Democrats have told them forever, and I understand that they\u2019re going to sit down and they\u2019re going to swallow it politely because they think in the end it\u2019s going to benefit them. Right now they see no service higher than themselves. As a military wife, we don\u2019t make very much. My father did not make very much. But he put himself through college, he put through all three of his children, my brothers and I included, through college, and my husband and I with him decided to serve something higher than ourselves, we weren\u2019t going to let anybody tell us to sit back and take the easy road. I\u2019m sure you\u2019re right. Until these people can see something, service, I know Obama keeps preaching about ‘I am my brother\u2019s keeper,\u2019 which is laughable.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It is because his own brother lives in a hut and his aunt lives in a slum.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I heard you talk about that yesterday. I got a kick out of that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s not funny. I mean it sounds funny, it is, ‘Slum, Sweet Slum.\u2019 She\u2019s been living there for five years, and they say she\u2019s a model citizen. Well, big whoop! Obama, his brother\u2019s keeper, his sister\u2019s keeper, lives in a slum in Boston for five years! His brother lives in a hut! You think people aren\u2019t listening to him? Let me ask you this. If you still are having trouble understanding it, let me ask you this. You have seen the Obama campaign and the Drive-By Media try to destroy a private citizen named Joe Wurzelbacher.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Joe the Plumber. Now, Joe the Plumber is an average citizen. He can\u2019t harm anybody. He can\u2019t raise anybody\u2019s taxes. He can\u2019t start the draft and send your kids off to war. He can\u2019t start a war. They set out to destroy him and they used government computers. Now, Joe Wurzelbacher has tax liens. He\u2019s not wealthy by any stretch. He\u2019s one of those people in terms of economic makeup that are showing up at Obama rallies. Why are people not mad at what happened to Joe Wurzelbacher on Obama\u2019s side? On our side, people are livid about what\u2019s being done to Sarah Palin and Joe Wurzelbacher. Why are these people — you\u2019re expecting too much of them if you think them capable of listening to Obama insult them and understand that that\u2019s what\u2019s happening.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I hear you talk about highly educated people being the ones that are the most hypnotized, which is true. Let me tell you, my husband and I, we\u2019ve lost friends over this election, because we\u2019ve had friends that we thought their ideals were in line with ours —<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, that\u2019s not what happened. That\u2019s not what happened. You lost people you thought were your friends. They never really were, if that\u2019s what\u2019s happened here. They never really were your friends. That\u2019s absurd, to lose —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Has anybody tried counting down backwards from ten and snapping their fingers and seeing if anybody will come out of this? I mean that\u2019s how we\u2019ve seen it. I understand what you\u2019re saying, talking about how they weren\u2019t really in line with us, but it\u2019s been very, very hard, and it\u2019s scary for us as a military family to think what\u2019s going to happen to us when he dismantles —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, there\u2019s one thing you can do with all this and that\u2019s make sure you and as many other people as you can find vote. That\u2019s all that it comes down to now, is voting. Very simple. This is a turnout election. It ain\u2019t over. As I said, my gut\u2019s talking to me. This is doable. I sense — can\u2019t tell you specifically — I sense things happening that are making the Obama team uncomfortable and the Drive-Bys uncomfortable. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
