RUSH: You want to hear something that takes the cake? This is it.<\/p>\n

When he was California\u2019s lieutenant governor, Gavin Newsom fully supported the 2017 state law that increased gasoline taxes. Last year, running for governor, Newsom opposed a ballot initiative to repeal those massive gas taxes, and they elected him anyway.\"\"<\/p>\n

But now that he\u2019s governor, Newsom has questions. He\u2019s asking the state energy commission to investigate why California has the highest gasoline taxes in America. (laughing)<\/p>\n

Now, the average price for a gallon of gasoline in the U.S. is $2.89; in California, it\u2019s over four smackers! Newsom blames everyone but Democrats. He didn\u2019t ask the energy commission to investigate the high Democrat gas increases. He didn\u2019t ask the commission to look at the cost of Democrat \u201cwacko-ism,\u201d including California\u2019s cap-and-trade scheme, which directly affects the price of gas.<\/p>\n

And like the typical liberal he is, Newsom is pointing his finger at the oil industry and big business, painting them as villains. In reality, any California driver who complains about gas prices should be giving the finger to Newsom and his fellow Democrats. They raised them, and now they\u2019re complaining about them — and they\u2019re the total cause of them!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
