RUSH: Judy in Pittsburgh, it\u2019s great to have you on the EIB Network. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hello. I just wanted to point out that the amount of time that those candidates are spending here in Pennsylvania puts the lie to all of the media polls.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, it could. The candidates are spending a lot of time in all the battleground states. Ohio… McCain is in Florida here today. Palin is going to be in my hometown of Cape Girardeau tomorrow. Obama is running around in both states. You would have to ask yourself, ‘What in the world is…? If this is in the bag, why is Obama spending all this money and why is he going to all these places if this election is in the bag?\u2019 You do have to ask yourself that. By the way, Fast Eddie Rendell, the governor of Pennsylvania, keeps sounding the alarm out there. He was on MSNBC last night. He was asked, ‘Why do you think it might be closer than the polls indicate?\u2019<\/p>\n

FAST EDDIE: Give Senator McCain and Governor Palin a little credit. They\u2019ve lived here. I\u2019m almost thinking they can pay the state income tax they\u2019ve been here so much.<\/p>\n

ANCHOR: (snorts)<\/p>\n

FAST EDDIE: But it does have an effect. It\u2019s reignited the base. The base in Pennsylvania was charged up when Sarah Palin was nominated. It went down when her stock went down, but it\u2019s been reignited by their presence.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Next question. ‘When you talk about undecided voters and people who still haven\u2019t had the deal closed, what do you think undecided voters in Pennsylvania are waiting to hear?\u2019<\/p>\n

FAST EDDIE: I look at these McCain rallies in Pennsylvania, and he says, ‘Barack Obama\u2019s going to take your wealth,\u2019 and I look at the audience, and they don\u2019t have any wealth! They\u2019ve probably got negative net worth \u2019cause their mortgage is higher than the value of their house right now. They\u2019re earning $45,000 a year, and those folks should understand their best hope is Barack Obama.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Really, Fast Eddie? How is Barack Obama their best hope when it\u2019s Barack Obama\u2019s buddies and your party which is responsible for them having lost some of their wealth? Do you think Obama is about wealth creation, Fast Eddie? See, this is a very interesting turning of events. Obama is not interested in wealth creation, otherwise there would be no tax increase on the highest earners. That\u2019s to close off wealth. We talk about a transfer of wealth or redistribution of wealth. He doesn\u2019t want to redistribute wealth. He wants to redistribute income, and it\u2019s a far, far different thing. Obama is no salvation for anybody who wants to get wealthy. Obama is going to be — along with the size and makeup of the government he structures — one of the biggest impediments. But this economy is directly traceable to Democrat Party behavior.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Other dittos, Rush! It\u2019s great to speak with you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m here in western Pennsylvania. I got my Bible in one hand, my shotgun in the other, and I\u2019m clinging, baby.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (chuckles) I don\u2019t think you\u2019re voting Obama, are you?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, no, sir. I am not. I just wanted to call and let you know that there are still people out here that are positive. I don\u2019t buy the polls, and I don\u2019t buy \u2019em because I think they\u2019re a tool of the left. I think the left uses them to suppress conservative voters. <\/p>\n

RUSH: There\u2019s no question. That\u2019s the whole focus of the Obama campaign and the media is to suppress conservative Republican turnout, to depress conservative Republican individuals and act like this is in the bag and it\u2019s already over. It\u2019s all aimed at mind control. That\u2019s exactly right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Amen! It is, and I want all the conservatives out there to know to stay positive, be positive. I don\u2019t care what the polls say. It ain\u2019t over \u2019til it\u2019s over, and it ain\u2019t over until we vote.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Look, there\u2019s anger out there. I don\u2019t know how many people are actually depressed. I don\u2019t think the tactic has worked to depress people. Some have succumbed to it. I think there\u2019s more anger than anything else. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
