RUSH: We\u2019re going to start in Stratford, Vermont. Suzanne, nice to have you on the EIB Network.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s my pleasure, Rush. Thanks for taking my call.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You bet.<\/p>\n

CALLER: What you\u2019re talking about today, I live every single day in Vermont. We have a property tax system here that is socialist, and basically how Vermont does it is they separate us into gold towns which are the rich towns, and non-gold towns, and if you live in a gold town, which I do, your tax rate basically is double than everybody else because they feel bad because the towns that aren\u2019t gold towns their schools, maybe, are not as good so my property taxes have tripled in the last three years because of this gold town. And it\u2019s the same socialist principles that, all right, well, let\u2019s take from the rich towns to give to the poor towns because their schools maybe are not doing as well. Now, I gotta tell you, there is a negative growth in Vermont. People are leaving the state in droves. We are right behind them. We can\u2019t wait to get out of this state. There are no jobs here because the jobs are saying, ‘We\u2019re not doing, we\u2019re not paying these kinds of taxes, we\u2019re not going to be a party to this,\u2019 so there is no job creation, and they don\u2019t want jobs here. I\u2019ve actually had it out with some of my local legislators, and I\u2019ve asked them, ‘What are you guys doing to get jobs in this state?\u2019 And they\u2019re like, ‘Nothing, we don\u2019t want industry here.\u2019 So that\u2019s socialism. There you go.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait, they don\u2019t want who there? They don\u2019t want industry in Vermont?<\/p>\n

CALLER: They don\u2019t want industry; they don\u2019t want businesses, so how are we supposed to pay these property taxes? And he\u2019s like, well, you know, I mean — figure it out.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I can\u2019t believe they would admit this. I mean they gotta have somebody producing the wealth before they can take it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Ski areas, it\u2019s tourists, it\u2019s a lot of the recreation, that type of stuff. We just had a big fire in one of the plants here in Vermont, and the employer said, ‘We\u2019re not rebuilding, it\u2019s not worth it to us.\u2019 But like I said, my property taxes have tripled, and I have friends of mine whose property taxes have tripled and quadrupled because they love in Stowe, Vermont, which is a ski area and they\u2019re a gold town.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Are you saying gold, g-o-l-d?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, g-o-l-d. So they\u2019re a gold town, so they\u2019re a rich town.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ah, you know, we have that in Florida, too, they just don\u2019t tell us that we live in them.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, they tell us we live in a gold town.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing) Well, no, but if I told you what happened to the property taxes I pay and where it went — I live in Palm Beach. I\u2019d have to look to be certain about this, but the vast majority of the property taxes I pay leave my community.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They don\u2019t even stay here. They go to all kinds of different places, it\u2019s a mess. Florida is trying to do something about this in a number — go ahead, Brian, go ahead and say it, go ahead and say it, these guys, any time I start talking about myself, Suzanne — See, Suzanne, here I am trying to relate to you and say that I can understand what you\u2019re talking about, and my insolent staff, whose contribution to this program is way overrated, now asking me, ‘Well, who cares how much money leaves your community? Your community is so small, what all do you need it for?\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, why should it leave your community and go to somebody else\u2019s community? That\u2019s my whole point.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Why should it leave where I live? Why should it go to somebody else\u2019s community, Brian? Why should it do that? You know, we need cops, we need fire departments, we need firemen, we need landscapers.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I mean if you wanted to live in Gainesville, then you would live in Gainesville, right?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I know. I know. Somebody has to come polish the gold that they paint on the curbs here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You know, we have a socialist Senator, Bernie Sanders, and he has had a big impact on this state, and this state is socialist, and that\u2019s what we\u2019re seeing, and if you look at the demographics in Vermont, there is a negative growth here, people are leaving, and like I said, I can\u2019t wait to get out of this state.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Where do you want to go? Where do you want to move?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I want to go to the Carolinas, or I want to go to Kentucky or Tennessee, because the cost of living is half. Looking for a job transfer.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Carolinas, Kentucky or Tennessee because the cost of living is half.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019ve already looked at that?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Compared to Vermont, yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Compared to New England in general.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, I know, the same thing is happening in Long Island, Massachusetts people are moving to New Hampshire.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And we\u2019re a mainly Democratic country up here, too. There are about five of us in my hometown that are Republicans and my husband and I are two of the five, so —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, hang in there. Seriously, if you want to get out of there, if you get to this point, do it, do it. There are places in the country you can go, but remember, now, if Obama wins, wherever you go, they are going to find you. If they can use government computers to go after Joe the Plumber, they can find you. Do you know this anchor babe in Orlando who embarrassed Biden?
