RUSH: I just saw something on CNN that is funny. New York Magazine. (laughing) Everything\u2019s striking me as funny today. New York Magazine says that Joe Biden\u2019s campaign is beginning to look like the campaign of Jeb Bush in 2016.<\/p>\n

Now, how many delegates did Jeb Bush get? He got three. They spent a hundred million dollars. With the lead Republican consultant of all time, Mike Murphy, running the operation, they got three delegates. From New York Magazine — Biden\u2019s campaign is resembling that of Jeb Bush<\/a>. That is not a good sign.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Now, here\u2019s the truth, though. If you want to get down to brass tacks. As we sit here today — and of course as we sit here today the same variables are not going to be the same as two years from now, year and a half from now — but as we sit here today and given everything we know, Joe Biden is the only Democrat who has a prayer of beating Donald Trump. But he can\u2019t get the Democrat nomination.<\/p>\n

Now, the reason I say he\u2019s the only Democrat who has a prayer is because he\u2019s the only Democrat who has a shot at getting these traditional Democrat voters in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Ohio, Illinois, those blue-collar and white-collar voters that Trump got that the Democrat Party in 2011 wrote off, white working-class voters, Biden is the only one of these 18 Democrats who has a shot at them.<\/p>\n

And this is why the Democrat Party is worried about Crazy Bernie. Crazy Bernie doesn\u2019t have a prayer. In fact, I have a story in The Stack<\/a> today. A significant percentage — are you ready for this? A significant percentage of Bernie Sanders voters say that if Bernie doesn\u2019t get the Democrat nomination, they are voting for Trump. That is gonna be big reverberating news throughout the brothels of the Democrat Party.<\/p>\n

Crazy Bernie voters — Biden is the only guy that has a — but he can\u2019t get the nomination. He\u2019s never gotten the nomination. Nothing to do with age. He\u2019s just gonna muck it up! He always does. He\u2019s a walking gaffe. They can\u2019t even get his announcement straight. First he was gonna announce in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Wednesday, today.<\/p>\n

But you know what went wrong with that? The people of Charlottesville, Virginia, \u201cWhat are you doing? You\u2019re trying to make hay out of some event that went wrong here with a bunch of Nazis and –what are you doing?\u201d So Biden: okay, okay, I won\u2019t try to gain favor by capitalizing on your pain.<\/p>\n

So he said instead we\u2019re gonna announce it on the internet. We\u2019ll announce my candidacy on the internet and we\u2019re gonna do a rally in Philadelphia and then do a rally in Pittsburgh. The problem is the rally in Pittsburgh, nobody there knows there is a rally coming. They don\u2019t know where it\u2019s gonna be. Nobody knows where to go to set it up. It may not even happen.<\/p>\n

\"\"So the announcement gets put off from today \u2019til tomorrow, and there are some who think that it may not happen tomorrow either. CNN\u2019s doing their level best to report this as a fait accompli. And I know what they\u2019re doing. They\u2019re trying to force Biden to do it. There\u2019s a lot of people on the Democrat side and the media as well who know that Biden is reluctant to pull the trigger.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s out there saying he can\u2019t wait, he wants to smash Trump\u2019s nose, he wants to get Trump and take him into the back and all this stuff. But there are a lot of people saying that\u2019s just a bunch of bluster. He hasn\u2019t made up his mind about this. There\u2019s a lot of people trying to force him to do it precisely \u2019cause of what I told you. A lot of people the Democrat Party know full well that Bernie is not gonna be elected president and neither are any of these others.<\/p>\n

And Biden — there\u2019s so much irony in this party. Supposedly it\u2019s revolutionary with its focus on diversity, which would mean their nominee should be a one-eyed gay amputee female who served in the Boer wars in South Africa just to cover all the bases. But they can\u2019t find the ideal candidate. But if it ends up being some old white guy, I mean, what\u2019s the rest of the progressive movement about? What is it for?<\/p>\n

So when I saw that New York Magazine is comparing the Biden campaign to the Jeb Bush campaign, they can\u2019t possibly mean that as a positive. ‘Cause where did the Jeb Bush campaign go?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Look at already people writing, “Your comments that you just made about Biden will show up in a campaign ad: ‘Joe Biden\u2019s the only guy could possibly beat Donald Trump.'” Good! Good! You remember Muhammad Ali and the rope-a-dope? Enough said. All right, let me go to the phones. We\u2019re gonna start with Andrew in Aurora, Colorado. Welcome, sir, and it\u2019s great to have you on the EIB Network. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thanks, Rush. You\u2019re on fire today. The Democrats are putting Biden in as their relief pitcher to narrow the field and to get rid of the ones that have no chance and to concentrate the money donations that come into the Dems. He\u2019s there to clean it up. They\u2019re not serious about him really running to the end. He\u2019ll drop out for some reason because he\u2019s there to help get rid of Bernie, who got politically sidelined by Hillary.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You can\u2019t. You can\u2019t get rid of Bernie. That\u2019s the point.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, but they\u2019re gonna try to. (coughing) They\u2019re gonna try —<\/p>\n

RUSH: He\u2019s gonna end up getting rid of Kamala Harris, if your theory is right. I\u2019m not… I\u2019m gonna play along. I\u2019m not suggesting your theory is right, but if it is, they\u2019re gonna get rid of Kamala Harris, or Biden would get rid of Kamala Harris first then get rid of Elizabeth Warren and some of these lower-tier people out there. But Biden\u2019s not gonna touch Crazy Bernie.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, he\u2019s gotta narrow that field down of the Democrats — and that\u2019s, I think, his main purpose.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thin the herd, narrow the field so that the —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — money isn\u2019t so…?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Scattered.<\/p>\n

RUSH: “Diluted,” I think, would be the word.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

\"\"RUSH: That… Yep. I will take this under advisement and thought. I… (sigh) We should not lose focus of something here, that these Democrats… Nobody on the left right now is rational, folks. Do not make the mistake when analyzing, of thinking we\u2019re dealing with rational people. They are out of their gourds. They have been poisoned with hate. They\u2019re running around swallowing failure. They have failed! They targeted Donald Trump before he got the nomination. That didn\u2019t work. They targeted Donald Trump before he won the presidency. That didn\u2019t work.<\/p>\n

They tried to effectively make it impossible for Trump to be inaugurated by doing all kinds of damage during the transition period. That didn\u2019t work. When that didn\u2019t work, they then went after Trump after he was inaugurated, and that hasn\u2019t worked. They are walking failures, every damn one of them, and they are obsessed with it. They are beside themselves. They\u2019re out of their minds! They can\u2019t believe it. They and the media, united together, have not been able to get rid of Trump? So that\u2019s all they\u2019re focused on.<\/p>\n

When analyzing these people, we have to pretend to be irrational ourselves — and I don\u2019t know about you, but as a rational person, I have to work hard to be dumb and stupid and irrational. And frankly, I don\u2019t want to work that hard. So that\u2019s why I have perfected my understanding of the left. And right now, we\u2019re dealing with people who are immersed in irrationality. They are focused on one thing, and that is getting rid of Donald Trump. They don\u2019t care right now how, and they don\u2019t care who. It\u2019s just getting rid of Trump.<\/p>\n

Do you realize how irrational it is to think that Joe Biden could get the nomination in this current crop of Democrat nominees? Do you realize how irrational it is to believe that Joe Biden could be elected president? Joe Biden has run for president twice, at least, before — and in the first campaign, he was exposed as a plagiarist. There was a Labour Party candidate over in Great Britain named Neil Kinnock. He had one of these little violin sorrow stories about hard luck and hard work and, “Oh, woe is me,” and what he overcame — and Biden lifted it word-for-word!<\/p>\n

He got caught as a full-fledged plagiarist, and that ended that campaign. There are Biden gaffes, audio and video, in archive files all over this country, newsrooms all over the place. He hasn\u2019t ever gotten close. Biden is seen as the closest thing right now that they could get to recapturing the days of Obama. They can\u2019t get out of the past. They can\u2019t do it! I\u2019m not saying that we\u2019ve already got this in the bag. Don\u2019t misunderstand. Just don\u2019t attach rationality to these people yet as you analyze \u2019em.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And, by the way, folks, let me tell you what Biden\u2019s silver bullet is even if he does start making tracks, if he does announce and if he starts getting any traction out there. Joe Biden has a silver bullet. There is a giant sinkhole waiting to swallow him up, and that is the sweetheart deals he wrangled for his son with none other than Ukraine. They are big — and I\u2019m gonna tell you, they are a thousand times worse than anything Paul Manafort was even accused of doing.
