RUSH: A couple of McCain sound bites. This morning in Manchester, New Hampshire.<\/p>\n

MCCAIN: Last week, his campaign actually found itself on a detour into the real world in the driveway of Joe the Plumber. Joe didn\u2019t ask for Senator Obama to come to his house, and he sure didn\u2019t ask to be famous and he certainly didn\u2019t ask for the political attacks on him from the Obama campaign. As he told Joe, Barack Obama wants to, quote, ‘spread the wealth around.\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let me repeat something. We had a call yesterday at just about this time when a guy was all happy, they haven\u2019t found anything substantive on Joe the Plumber. And that, folks, that just focused it for me. Stop and think of that. They, the Obama campaign and the media, they haven\u2019t found anything on Joe the Plumber. Who the hell are they to look? What gives them the right to look into the private life of a private citizen? He\u2019s not part of the McCain campaign; he\u2019s not running for anything; he can\u2019t raise anybody\u2019s taxes; he can\u2019t send anybody\u2019s kid off to war. And now he can\u2019t even work because the plumbers have ganged up on him because he supposedly didn\u2019t have a license. What the hell are we becoming? ‘They haven\u2019t found anything substantive on Joe the Plumber.\u2019 What business is it of theirs to start prying into Joe the Plumber\u2019s life? All he did was ask a question. I admonished you yesterday, I do so again today, rent the movie The Lives of Others. It\u2019s spoken in German, but it\u2019s captioned, subtitled. You\u2019ll be able to read along with it. It won the Academy Award for best foreign film. That\u2019s because Hollywood thought the movie portrayed life in America under Bush. A bunch of dunces. Rent the movie and find out what it\u2019s like living in a place where everybody is Joe the Plumber, and they have cameras in your house, and they come find you when you say something that\u2019s unacceptable. Rent the movie. Here\u2019s another portion of McCain today in Manchester, New Hampshire.<\/p>\n

MCCAIN: Joe didn\u2019t really like that idea much and neither did a lot of other folks who believe that their earnings are their own. After all, before government can redistribute wealth, it has to confiscate wealth from those who earned it. And whatever the right word is for that way of thinking, the redistribution of wealth is the last thing America needs right now.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ever!<\/p>\n

MCCAIN: In these tough economic times we don\u2019t need government spreading the wealth. We need policies that create wealth and spread opportunity.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right on, right on, right on, right on, right on. And let\u2019s see. The McCain camp has a new ad called ‘I am Joe the Plumber.\u2019<\/p>\n

OBAMA: I think when you spread the wealth around, it\u2019s good for everybody.<\/p>\n

WOMAN: I\u2019m Joe the Plumber.<\/p>\n

WOMAN: I\u2019m Joe the Plumber.<\/p>\n

WOMAN: I\u2019m Joe the Plumber.<\/p>\n

ANNOUNCER: Spread the wealth?<\/p>\n

MAN: I\u2019m supposed to work harder.<\/p>\n

MAN: Just to pay more taxes.<\/p>\n

MAN: Obama wants my sweat to pay for his trillion dollars in new spending?<\/p>\n

WOMAN: I\u2019m Joe the Plumber.<\/p>\n

ANNOUNCER: Barack Obama, higher taxes, more spending, not ready.<\/p>\n

MCCAIN: I\u2019m John McCain, and I approved this message.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And here\u2019s Chuck Schumer yesterday at the Washington National Press Club predicting Obama will win in a landslide.<\/p>\n

SCHUMER: The tectonic plates are changing and it serves us well. And I think it will mean that Barack Obama — and I said this six months ago before the financial crisis, I said it publicly, will get more than 300 electoral votes, and I think it helps us in the Senate in a very significant way.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Can anybody say overconfident? We\u2019ve got three polls out today, two of them at one point and one poll at three points. As predicted, it\u2019s tightening up. Moving on again to Senator Biden. Tuesday afternoon, Greeley, Colorado.<\/p>\n

BIDEN: We\u2019re gonna fight for every single, solitary vote. I want to remind you, in the middle of October, in the beginning of October, the last two presidential elections, things looked awful good, too. You know what these guys are going to do, they\u2019re going to throw everything from the kitchen sink to the bathroom sink and everything else they can find at Barack Obama and me between now and then, and we cannot, we cannot, we cannot forgo one single, solitary vote, ladies and gentlemen.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Doesn\u2019t sound like Chuck Schumer there, does he? Schumer, ‘Oh, yeah, 300 electoral votes, the tectonic plates are shifting out there.\u2019 And smoking Joe out here is concerned here that they may not be able to cheat, get every vote that they need. Here is Obama. Now, this is yesterday, Channel 9 in Washington, the host Derek McGinty, ‘Your running mate raised a few eyebrows recently when he suggested in the first six months of your administration if you\u2019re to win, your enemies will test you some kind of drastic way. Do you agree with that? What\u2019s he basing that on? Does Senator Biden know something we don\u2019t know?\u2019<\/p>\n

OBAMA: No, he doesn\u2019t. I — I — I think, uh, what Joe was trying to say is that any president is going to be severely tested, uh, and —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uh.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: — because —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uh.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: — of the legacy of —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uh.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: — two wars, we got —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uh.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: — one in Iraq, one in —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uh.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: — Afghanistan.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uh.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: Bin Laden is still —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uh.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: — at large —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uh.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: — and a lot of times —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uh.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: — terrorists —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uh.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: — have tried to —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uh.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: — deal with transition —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uh.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: — periods —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uh.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: — in governments by —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uh.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: — launching attacks.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uh. Yeah. Okay, again, said nothing. Peggy Noonan, David Brooks, David Frum thought it was brilliant. He said nothing. Now, we\u2019ve got additional Biden sound bites on this guaranteeing world calamity. The McCain campaign forced the Drive-Bys into playing all of the Biden bites, the better ones. NBC, they were suppressing the good ones. Here is Senator Biden at a fundraiser Sunday in Seattle.<\/p>\n

BIDEN: The whole world is waiting, folks. The whole world is waiting. I know almost every one of these major leaders in the world by their first name, not because I\u2019m important, but because they were young parliamentarians when I was coming up —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, yeah.<\/p>\n

BIDEN: We\u2019ve been hanging around a long time.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah.<\/p>\n

BIDEN: I\u2019ll tell you what, and mark my words, within the next — first six months of this administration, if we win, they\u2019re going to bring — we\u2019re going to face a major international challenge because they\u2019re gonna want to test him just like they did young John Kennedy. They\u2019re going to want to test him, and they\u2019re going to find out this guy\u2019s got steel in his spine.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, that\u2019s the sound bite they were all playing yesterday. He\u2019s got steel in his spine. They left a whole lot out. By the way, what nobody else is talking about, at least the Drive-Bys, he did the same thing Saturday night in San Francisco. This was not a swerve of Joe Biden\u2019s mouth running off. This was calculated, and I think it was specifically because he was privy to the foreign policy briefing that both transition teams got last week. I know guys like Biden. When Biden knows something nobody else knows he can\u2019t keep it to himself. He is dying to tell us what he learned, because he wants us to know how in-the-know he is. But he can\u2019t divulge the specifics. So what he did, he went out there, ‘Trust me, mark my words, I know this, this young man is going to be tested. That\u2019s as close as he could get to telling us something we don\u2019t know that he does know. He\u2019s that kind of person. You know these kind of people. So it\u2019s obvious that he got these things, he\u2019s got this information, and it must be pretty bad for him to go out and guarantee this. Here is another bite with Biden in Seattle on Sunday, comparing Obama to JFK and blah, blah, blah.<\/p>\n

BIDEN: Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We\u2019re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old president of the United States America, remember I said, if you remember anything else I said, watch, we\u2019re going to have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy. I could give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Listen.<\/p>\n

BIDEN: He\u2019s going to need help. And the kind of help he\u2019s going to need is he\u2019s going to need you, not financially, we\u2019re going to need you to use your influence, your influence in the community to stand with him, because it\u2019s not going to be apparent initially, it\u2019s not going to be apparent that we\u2019re right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, this is just amazing. He\u2019s saying he knows it\u2019s going to be a generated crisis, and it\u2019s going to be bad, and it is going to happen. Four or five scenarios and he\u2019s going to need help. He\u2019s going to need your help. Don\u2019t lose your support, don\u2019t let the polls go down. You gotta stay and use your influence in the community, stand with him, \u2019cause it\u2019s not going to be apparent we\u2019re doing the right thing. So what\u2019s going to happen is, we\u2019re going to have this, whatever it is, this incident, Obama\u2019s gonna handle it all wrong, and Biden is saying, please, still love us! Hang in with the guy! I have no clue what the incident is going to be. He obviously knows. Let\u2019s see. These are the things that the Drive-Bys, ladies and gentlemen, tried to suppress, and, ‘Oh, everybody president gets attacked.\u2019 <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
