RUSH: So Glenn Greenwald, he is… Well, I don\u2019t know that I need to shade this.\u00a0 He\u2019s an uber-leftist journalist who\u2019s been chased out of the United States by media that don\u2019t like him.\u00a0 He now lives in San Juan, Sao Paulo, somewhere down in Brazil, and he started a website called The Intercept.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>He was known before Snowden came along, but he became Snowden\u2019s handpicked journalist of choice, and he followed Snowden all over. \u00a0Edward Snowden of the NSA who revealed all those secrets.\u00a0 And it was after that period of time with Snowden that he started the website called The Intercept.\u00a0 He is highly critical of the Drive-By Media, and not for political reasons, not ideological reasons.\u00a0 He\u2019s critical of them because he thinks that they\u2019re not really journalists anymore and that they\u2019re nothing more than actually slaves to the Democrats.<\/p>\n

See, real journalists don\u2019t want to be slaves to anybody.\u00a0 They don\u2019t want to be considered in the back pocket of anybody.\u00a0 They want to be thought of as independent.\u00a0 We don\u2019t have real journalists anymore.\u00a0 We\u2019ve got Democrat Party hacks who are disguised as journalists, and they work at every network.\u00a0 So Greenwald is pretty intense attacking them, and he\u2019s done so yesterday on TheHill.com, their TV channel (I guess their video podcasts).\u00a0 He said that corporate media reaction to the Mueller report is “genuinely stunning.”<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cI find that genuinely stunning as somebody who\u2019s been a pretty harsh media critic for more than a decade. … The reality is that for three years there has been a conspiracy theory that has dominated our political and media discourse, which is that Donald Trump conspired with Russia over the 2016 election and that he\u2019s an agent of the Russian government along with many of his associates. In the Mueller report, one section after the next said either they couldn\u2019t establish that or there was no evidence for it, and yet they\u2019re acting as though it said exactly the opposite, that this conspiracy theory was demonstrated and proven…”<\/p>\n

He said, he can\u2019t believe it.\u00a0 For 2-1\/2 years, we\u2019ve been told that Trump is a traitor, that he\u2019s a Russian agent.\u00a0 The Mueller report comes out and exonerates Trump and says, “No, he wasn\u2019t,” and yet the media continues to report on Trump as though the Mueller report did say that Trump colluded with Russia and that Russia cheated and helped Trump win the 2016 election.\u00a0 Glenn Greenwald said he\u2019s flabbergasted.\u00a0 But he has a theory.<\/p>\n

Quote, the media “are living in some bizarre fantasy land because they\u2019re worried that admitting that they got this story wrong will damage their credibility. Pretending they got it right is just worsening the problem.” So he thinks they know, and he\u2019s talking about the Drive-By Media at large.\u00a0 He thinks they know they got it wrong, but they don\u2019t dare admit it because it would damage their credibility, and they don\u2019t dare apologize for it. So instead, they pretend they got it right.<\/p>\n

They continue to lie about the Mueller report like they lied about the investigation all the way through it, and they\u2019re just worsening the problem.\u00a0 Meaning that they are continuing to damage their reputation.\u00a0 I disagree with him about this.\u00a0 I don\u2019t think they\u2019re worried their credibility.\u00a0 If they were worried about their credibility, this would have never happened!\u00a0 Because, I\u2019m telling you — for, what, the umpteenth millionth time? — everybody\u2019s know from the get-go that there was no “there” there.\u00a0 Everybody has known there was no collusion.<\/p>\n

Now, we have to make allowances.\u00a0 Some of these people… I will concede that many of them are not that bright and they are not that educated.\u00a0 They live in a cocoon, and they don\u2019t know much history.\u00a0 It\u2019s an amazing thing, but I think journalism education actually closes minds.\u00a0 I don\u2019t think it opens them. Whereas journalism used to require curiosity and it used to require suspicion and doubt, there isn\u2019t any.\u00a0 There is no curiosity whatsoever when it comes to the Democrat Party.\u00a0 There\u2019s no doubt. There\u2019s no suspicion.<\/p>\n

All there is is a willing accomplice attitude to promote whatever the Democrat Party wants. In fact, I think it\u2019s the other way around.\u00a0 I think the Democrat Party\u2019s led by the media now.\u00a0 I don\u2019t think they\u2019re afraid to admit they got it wrong.\u00a0 I just don\u2019t think they\u2019re finished trying to get rid of Trump!\u00a0 That\u2019s all this is.\u00a0 And worried about their reputation?\u00a0 They don\u2019t give a rat\u2019s rear end about their reputation.\u00a0 If they care about their reputation, the latest two years wouldn\u2019t have happened.<\/p>\n

\"\"CNN\u2019s sitting there watching their audience disappear.\u00a0 They don\u2019t care.\u00a0 I can\u2019t relate to that, just as somebody who\u2019s in the business of broadcasting, which they are in, to sit there and watch…? A national cable news network that doesn\u2019t even reach 400,000 viewers? That is such a failure.\u00a0 I would be embarrassed to show up!\u00a0 I\u2019d be worried that I was gonna lose my job.\u00a0 These people, they do not care, because their audience is everybody else in Washington.\u00a0 You, they hold in contempt.\u00a0 If they could change your minds, fine and dandy, but you are not their focus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
