RUSH: Now, it\u2019s time for some instructions. I have three news stories here and they are from the Associated Press-Obama. Nevada: ‘Nevada Democrats have a big jump on Republicans in early voting in the state\u2019s urban centers of Las Vegas and Reno, election officials say. Cumulative early-vote totals in the Las Vegas area show ballots were cast by 31,875 Democrats and 13,371 Republicans through midday Monday. Republicans had the advantage in absentee balloting, 6,616 to 6,161 through noon Monday.\u2019 Same pattern in Reno. Then we get to the next story, Florida: ‘Florida voters hoping to skip long lines on Election Day found themselves waiting for hours at some polling places Monday as early voting opened statewide.\u2019 Georgia: ‘About 12 percent of the state\u2019s roughly 5.6 million registered voters have already cast ballots for the Nov. 4 general election. Statewide on Friday 55,709 people voted. Georgia doesn\u2019t track absentee ballots by political party. The counties with the most early voters are DeKalb, Fulton, Gwinnett, Cobb and Chatham.\u2019<\/p>\n

North Carolina: ‘Early voting opened Thursday and drew some 214,000 voters to the polls in the first two days, leading to hours-long lines in parts of the state and lengthy schedules for poll workers. In the first few days, the balloting clearly favored Democrats, with those registered with the party making up 62 percent of those who had voted. Only 22 percent of the voters had been registered Republicans. North Carolina has 15 electoral votes,\u2019 as does Georgia. And in Colorado: ‘Nearly 8.5 percent of Colorado\u2019s 3.2 million registered voters have already cast ballots by mail or at early-voting polling places. Nearly 249,000 mail-in ballots had arrived at county clerks\u2019 offices by Monday, the first day of early voting. About 21,000 people cast ballots at polling places, according to the Colorado secretary of state\u2019s office.\u2019<\/p>\n

Now, this early voting, folks, is a big mistake. I believe Election Day is defined in the Constitution very specifically. Early voting was brought about as a result of what happened in Florida 2000. This is mostly a Democrat Party, ACORN-motivated move to get early voting out there, to overwhelm all these polling places. Look at this, people showing up at early voting to avoid long lines on Election Day and they\u2019re encountering long lines while they go to vote early. Now, here are the instructions. Start voting. If you are a Republican in Nevada, a Republican in Georgia, a Republican in North Carolina, a Republican in Colorado, a Republican in Florida, start voting. It is not time to cede this advantage to ACORN and the Democrats who are trying to engage in a fraudulent election. We\u2019ve heard the stories from across the country, all of the ACORN investigations that are taking place, all the fraudulent registrations. It is an untenable situation, and I\u2019ll tell you something else that\u2019s wrong with early voting is the campaign\u2019s not over. <\/p>\n

There are two weeks to go in this campaign, and this campaign has reached a point the last place Obama wants to be. So I think it\u2019s an effort here to take advantage of the electoral system and so forth, but it\u2019s open to both parties. And what\u2019s happening here, note, every one of these stories makes it plain that the vast majority of early voters are Democrats, and the purpose of that is to depress you, the purpose of that is to dispirit you, the purpose is to make you not even think about voting, hell, if that many Democrats show up early, it\u2019s over. Just like all these polls are designed to tell you, you don\u2019t have a chance; McCain doesn\u2019t have a chance; this is going to be a landslide, it\u2019s over. It is not over. This is a closed election. In the Battleground Poll that came out today, a seven-day poll of a thousand likely voters, it\u2019s Obama 48, McCain 47. Only in the CBS\/New York Times poll, which has Obama up 13, 669 likely voters, most of them live in the CBS newsroom, asked some of the most stupid, silly questions you could possibly imagine in a poll. It\u2019s designed to get you to not vote. The purpose is to depress you. So all these early voters, and two to one, the early voters are Democrats over Republicans. <\/p>\n

See, the message is the Democrats really care, they\u2019re motivated, they\u2019re inspired, they can\u2019t wait. We hear this every election, they can\u2019t wait to get to the polls, why, we\u2019re having to destroy them all sorts of ways. Don\u2019t let this happen. Find out how to early vote and get out there and do it and stun and shock these people in the media who are trying to make it look like the Democrats have already won this election on the basis of early voting. Look at these states they\u2019re tabulating, most of them are swing states. Nevada, North Carolina, Colorado, Florida, look at the states they\u2019re reporting on with early voting. They\u2019re all states that — most of them — that McCain needs or Obama, they both need, and right now if you don\u2019t know how to interpret all this, ‘Why, it\u2019s not a contest, the Democrats can\u2019t wait, these states are already in the bag for Obama, why should I, if I\u2019m a Republican, go vote?\u2019 I urge you not to fall pray to this, not to succumb, and they\u2019re just going to continue these efforts in the next two weeks to depress you. <\/p>\n

CALLER: I just wanted to ask you to tell people, don\u2019t be discouraged because all these Democrats are voting early. There are a lot of Democrats, I have friends who are, relatives who are. And I\u2019m a registered Democrat, and there is no way that I would ever vote for Barack Obama.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So you\u2019re saying that some of these early voting Democrats are voting against Obama, you think?<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s possible, very possible.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, of course it\u2019s possible. I don\u2019t want people to be discouraged, either, but the Drive-Bys with these reports on the heavy Democrat turnout in these early voting states, it\u2019s clearly designed to dispirit Republicans from voting. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. But tell them don\u2019t be dispirited. People are not going to vote for Barack Obama.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Good. I just told them. You did, too. So that\u2019s great.<\/p>\n
