RUSH: Hey, folks, how about our boy, Joe Biden? Hey, stand up, Joe, tell us again what\u2019s going to happen when Obama gets elected. You hear what Biden said? ABC is reporting that Joe Biden is warning now of an international crisis. The world, multiple nations, will test Obama just as JFK was tested the first six months of his administration. Biden is guaranteeing trouble under Obama. We can also assume that McCain would not cause such a test to occur from leaders around the world, but Biden is out there saying multiple countries, he said, ‘Your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it\u2019s not gonna be apparent initially, it\u2019s not gonna be apparent that we\u2019re right,\u2019 in how we deal with whatever it is. And he said, ‘I could give you five or six scenarios.\u2019 Greetings, folks, welcome, Rush Limbaugh here and a full week of broadcast excellence straight ahead just for you. Love Joe Biden. He says it would be patriotic to pay higher taxes and that this country is going to face an international crisis or two only if Obama is elected. We will not face an international crisis, according to Biden, if McCain is elected. See, under McCain what we would get is lower taxes and apparently a far more peaceful world. McCain\u2019s been tested, no one will screw with him according to Biden. You know what a gaffe is, is when a politician tells the truth. So with Obama we\u2019re going to get higher taxes, we\u2019re going to get new attacks on our country. Biden says the world is going to test Obama. What\u2019s it going to be, China taking Taiwan? China taking North Korea? Russia taking over a bordering country or two? Israel being wiped off the map? All the above? What is it? Biden\u2019s guaranteeing something like this. He says it\u2019s a fair price for electing an inexperienced squirrel who wants ACORN to run our elections and can\u2019t wait to surrender in Iraq. And remember, folks, a squirrel is just a rat with better PR. <\/p>\n

Colin Powell said that Biden would be ready to be president on day one. Does Powell agree that the price for electing Obama is a world crisis? Biden\u2019s starting this. Biden is stating this as a fact beyond dispute. He says it\u2019s a guarantee, that we are to mark his words. Now, can you imagine if I said — without Biden having had said this first — if I had said that the election of Barack Obama will cause a guaranteed international crisis, can you imagine? I mean, the Drive-Bys are in a tizzy over my little Colin Powell comment yesterday to Jonathan Martin of The Politico. Can you imagine what they would do if I would have come out before Biden and said what Biden had said? I would be taking politics to the lowest common denominator. I would be a fearmonger. I would be irresponsible. The Fairness Doctrine would be needed to shut me up. I\u2019m going to endorse Biden. Biden\u2019s exactly right about this. First time in a long time I\u2019m going to agree with Biden. He\u2019s exactly right. We are going to get tested here. Obama\u2019s going to get tested. <\/p>\n

What\u2019s amazing to me about Biden\u2019s statement, ladies and gentlemen, is I thought the election of Obama was going to make the world love us again. I thought we\u2019re going to repair this busted image that we have all around the world, and the moment Obama is elected — we don\u2019t have to wait \u2019til he\u2019s inaugurated — from the moment he is elected, the world is going to (kissing sound) love us again. They\u2019re going to want to kiss us everywhere they can. They\u2019re going to be so happy, and here\u2019s Biden saying, (paraphrasing) ‘Oh, yeah, get ready, folks. This young man, he\u2019s got what it takes, love this guy, this guy can handle it,\u2019 speaking of Obama, ‘but he\u2019s going to get tested, we\u2019re going to get tested, I can guarantee you and we\u2019re going to need your support. We\u2019re going to need your support in there because it\u2019s not going to be obvious we\u2019re doing the right thing at first.\u2019 (laughing.)<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: ‘Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., on Sunday guaranteed that if elected, Sen. Barack Obama., D-Ill., will be tested by an international crisis within his first six months in power and he will need supporters to stand by him as he makes tough, and possibly unpopular, decisions.\u2019 That reminds me, one more thing. Everybody is forgetting the second thing that I said to Jonathan Martin yesterday about the Powell nomination, and it\u2019s this. Powell said that Obama is a transformational figure, and the world would celebrate and all that rigmarole. So I said, ‘I wasn\u2019t aware of Powell\u2019s dislike for John Roberts, Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Anthony Kennedy, Antonin Scalia. I guess he also regrets Ronald Reagan making him a four-star general and President Bush naming him secretary of state, H.W. Bush naming him chairman of the Joint Chiefs. Yeah, let\u2019s hear it for transformational figures,\u2019 meaning Reagan was a transformational figure, meaning H.W. Bush was a transformational figure, meaning George W. Bush was a transformational figure. <\/p>\n

Obama a transformational figure? What is he a transformational figure on? Nothing but his race. There\u2019s nothing about Obama\u2019s policy that\u2019s transformational, unless you want to say full-fledged, unadulterated, undiluted socialism in the United States is transformational. So Biden\u2019s out there guaranteeing that the world\u2019s going to test the rookie, the world\u2019s going to test this little guy, the world\u2019s going to test The Messiah. When I heard Biden say this, I said, ‘Wait a minute, Joe. I thought you guys are telling us that Obama\u2019s election means the world\u2019s all going to love us again, that nobody\u2019s going to have any animus towards us whatsoever, there won\u2019t be any need to test this, to test Obama. I thought they were going to love us. I thought Obama\u2019s election alone would restore our standing in the world.\u2019 Colin Powell said the same thing on Meet the Press yesterday. Here\u2019s a little bit of what Biden had to say yesterday in Seattle at a fundraiser.<\/p>\n

BIDEN: Mark my words, within the next — first six months of this administration, if we win, they\u2019re going to — we\u2019re going to face a major international challenge, \u2019cause they\u2019re going to want to test him, just like they did John Kennedy, they\u2019re going to want to test him, and they\u2019re going to find out this guy\u2019s got steel in his spine.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Really? Okay, well, we\u2019re all comforted by this. Got steel in his spine? Keep in mind what Biden has said. Biden said that it\u2019s patriotic to pay higher taxes, and now he said the country will face an international crisis only if Obama is elected. Note what he didn\u2019t say, that we\u2019ll face international crisis if McCain is elected. So we can assume Joe Biden says no international crisis if McCain is elected. Well, that\u2019s what he said. No international crisis if we elect McCain. Obama gets elected, bammo, I guarantee you, buddy, the first six months, we\u2019re going to have a international crisis. So under McCain we\u2019ll get lower taxes, not higher, and apparently according to Biden we\u2019ll have a far more peaceful world. McCain\u2019s already been tested, no one\u2019s going to mess with him according to Biden. Higher taxes, attacks on our country, attacks on an ally. Biden says the world is going to test Obiden, Obama. Hell, these guys are screwy, confusing me now, Obiden, Obama. <\/p>\n

So what\u2019s it going to be, folks? Is China going to try to take Taiwan, North Korea, both of them? Is Russia going to take over a bordering country or two? Will Iran make its move against Israel? Or will it be all of the above? I don\u2019t know, but Biden is guaranteeing this. And, you know, that\u2019s a fair price, I guess a fair price for electing an inexperienced little guy like Obama to run our elections, wants ACORN to run the elections. Can\u2019t wait to surrender in Iraq, by the way, can\u2019t wait to proclaim defeat in Iraq. Colin Powell said (paraphrasing), ‘I don\u2019t like Palin, but I do love Biden. Biden is ready to be president on day one.\u2019 Well, my question is this: Does Powell agree that the price for electing Obama is a world crisis? Biden is stating this as a fact beyond dispute. He says this is a guarantee that we are to ‘mark my words.\u2019 Do you realize the import of this? Then Biden said this: ‘Obama\u2019s going to need help and the kind of help he\u2019s gonna need is he\u2019s gonna need you, not financially. We\u2019re going to need you to use your influence, your influence within the community to stand with him because it\u2019s not going to be apparent initially, it\u2019s not going to be apparent that we\u2019re right in dealing with the international crisis.\u2019 <\/p>\n

Now, this is creepy, creepy stuff, and everybody is out there going, ‘Wow, this is so honest. I can\u2019t believe they are telling us how bad it\u2019s going to be.\u2019 This is one thing the libs love. They want everybody to be told how rotten things are going to be, how rotten things are, how much worse they\u2019re going to get. That\u2019s honesty, that\u2019s reality. There is no future for America. Our best days are behind us. Obama said so in Berlin. And now Biden\u2019s guaranteeing an international incident, maybe more. Then he\u2019s telling us that Obama\u2019s first reaction may not look like it\u2019s right, but you gotta hang in with us. You have to support us. It\u2019s up to you, folks, you want to take this risk? Here are some other things that Biden said. Some of this stuff is just great. ‘I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate,\u2019 mentioned the Middle East and Russia as possibilities. ‘He\u2019s gonna need help. The kind of help he\u2019s gonna need, he\u2019s gonna need you. We\u2019re gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community to stand with him \u2019cause it\u2019s not going to be apparent initially, it\u2019s not going to be apparent that we\u2019re right.\u2019 <\/p>\n

Listen to this. ‘I\u2019ve forgotten more about foreign policy than most of my colleagues know. So I\u2019m not being falsely humble with you. I think I can be value added, but this guy has it,\u2019 Biden said of Obama, ‘this guy has it. But he\u2019s going to need your help because I promise you, you all are going to be sitting here a year from now saying, ‘Oh, my God, why are they down there in the polls, why is the polling on Obama so low, why is this thing so tough?\u2019 We\u2019re going to have to make some incredibly tough decisions in the first two years, so I\u2019m asking you now, I\u2019m asking you now, be prepared to stick with us. Remember the faith you had at this point, because you\u2019re going to have to reinforce it.\u2019 So Biden\u2019s basically saying, the stuff that\u2019s going to happen after Obama\u2019s elected and the stuff that\u2019s going to happen to the country, ‘We\u2019re going to stink, we\u2019re going to be stinking up the sewer. Our poll numbers are going to be so bad, just remember the love that you have for us right now, six months from now to two years from now, when you really hate us, when you really realize we don\u2019t know what we\u2019re doing, we have no idea what we\u2019re doing, we had no idea how to deal with any of this, remember how much you loved us two years ago. We\u2019re going to need that kind of support.\u2019 <\/p>\n

Now, if you\u2019re Obama, and you\u2019ve just got through digesting the wonderfulness of the Powell endorsement, then you hear that your highly esteemed, really, really brilliant vice presidential nominee is out there guaranteeing a world crisis in six months, and guaranteeing that Obama\u2019s poll numbers are going to be in the sewer, and begging people for support when all this happens, what is your reaction? You probably say, ‘Could I get Sarah Palin on my ticket?\u2019 <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, we have been wondering here on the EIB Network — as have you out there in broadcast land — what is this ‘change\u2019 Obama keeps talking about? He\u2019s going to bring change and all these things. Well, what is it? We now know. Senator Biden has let the cat out of the bag. Change means things are gonna get worse! He just said it. And, by the way, Powell said it yesterday on Meet the Press. He said, ‘I would start with talking to the American people and talking to the world, conveying a new image of American leadership, a new image of America\u2019s role in the world.\u2019 The problem is always going to be there and there\u2019s going to be a crisis come along on the 21st and 22nd of January. We don\u2019t even know about right now. So I think the president has to do is start using the power of the Oval Office, the power of his personality to convince the American people and the world that America is solid.\u2019 <\/p>\n

He\u2019s doing the opposite, General Powell! He\u2019s telling the world that we are not living up to our best, that we are not solid. You just endorsed a guy who\u2019s gotten where he is by running down the country, and now the vice presidential candidate for Obama has told us what change is: Things get worse. By the way, General Powell is Sarah Palin not also a transitional and transformational figure? Is her campaign not also historic? General Powell puts her down. He said nothing of the vicious attacks on her, nothing of her experience, which is much greater than Obama\u2019s. But he\u2019s all concerned about McCain\u2019s campaign against Obama? This was not, if you ask me, one of General Powell\u2019s finest hours, ladies and gentlemen. The logic that he used in announcing his decision is really Swiss cheese. It is just full of holes. Now, I want to go through, since Biden said that we\u2019re going to be tested, and we\u2019re gonna be tested.<\/p>\n

He said, ‘Obama\u2019s gonna be tested, and he\u2019s got a spine of steel. He\u2019s gonna be tested; our numbers are going to be way down and our response to what this international incident or incidents are, you\u2019re not going to think we\u2019re doing the right thing at first. I want you to hang in there and support us, all right?\u2019 Al-Qaeda has a history of testing all of our new leaders. At the World Trade Center, 1993; Al-Qaeda tested Clinton. We failed. Mogadishu 1994, Al-Qaeda tested Clinton. We failed. Khobar Towers, 1996; Al-Qaeda tested Clinton. We failed. The Kenya-Tanzania embassy bombings, Al-Qaeda tested us. We failed. The 2000 bombing USS Cole, Al-Qaeda tested Clinton. We failed. On 9\/11, Al-Qaeda tested Bush; we passed. We haven\u2019t been hit since. March 11th, \u201904, the Madrid bombings; Al-Qaeda tested Spain. Spain failed. August 2008, Al-Qaeda tested Canadian Steven Harper, killed Canadians. He announced a pullout from Afghanistan in 2011; Canadians failed. August 2008, Al-Qaeda tested Sarkozy by killing 11 French paratroopers. Sarkozy passed and said he wouldn\u2019t surrender in Afghanistan. And there are numerous other examples. You could throw in here the potential tests. You throw Israeli on the board, Venezuela, China. What might China do? What might Russia do? Biden\u2019s basically promising. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Here is John in Cosby, Tennessee. John, welcome to the Rush Limbaugh program. Hello, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey. Thanks, Rush, for the opportunity.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Got a couple questions for Biden. You know, he\u2019s talking about this looming international challenge and we\u2019re going to have to hang in there with Obama when the going gets tough.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s right. Well, why in the world didn\u2019t the Democrats do that in Iraq?<\/p>\n

RUSH: You mean why didn\u2019t they want to hang in with the country?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, they love Obama, don\u2019t like the country. They will love the country when Obama is running it. But they don\u2019t love the country when Obama is not running it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I guess. Is this Biden\u2019s way of saying to the terrorists also, ‘Just bring it on?\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, it is interesting. One of the things that happened is, you know, there\u2019s all this chatter here about the world being such a dangerous place, which still stuns me. If we\u2019re on the verge of electing The Messiah and the rest of the world is going to love us, I don\u2019t know what the concerns here are. But nevertheless, with the world in such volatility and instability, it turns out that last week both campaigns were given foreign policy briefings as part of advance transition procedures, and as part of the foreign policy briefing. I\u2019m sure that both campaigns were told what the hot spots are round the world and what the best guess from our intelligence agencies is. And Lord knows, I\u2019ll betcha Biden heard about it and he\u2019s out there in a way bragging about what he knows without saying what it is. ‘I\u2019m an important guy,\u2019 he didn\u2019t say this, of course. He didn\u2019t say, ‘I was out there in a transition meeting and they told me X,\u2019 he won\u2019t do that, but now he\u2019s out on the stump guaranteeing something.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, I think it\u2019s code language to the terrorists saying, ‘I dare you.\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, it\u2019s not.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m just kidding. I mean, they can twist our words around, you know, it\u2019s fair game, isn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I agree, I agree, but you understand where their loyalties are. Their loyalties are with their party, not the country. It really is that simple. I know that sounds very, very tough to say. It\u2019s true. Somebody needs to ask General Powell, ‘What about the surge? The surge worked. What about General Petraeus? What about the ad that Obama\u2019s people ran against David Petraeus? You\u2019re a military man. What do you think of that campaign tactic, General Powell?\u2019 But, of course, Tom Brokaw from Jurassic Park did not go there. But Biden\u2019s right. I mean, we got to admit, Biden\u2019s right. We are about to find out just how much world peace has been maintained by a powerful USA. We\u2019re about to find this out. Well, I\u2019ll tell you what I mean: Our military strength and determination to support democracy and peace worldwide, to deny totalitarian regimes the opportunity to spread like a cancer is not fully understood. In fact, too many people in this country look at that as being provocative, it\u2019s not our business. The election of Obama is a break in the dam of stability around the world. Biden said the world\u2019s going to test Obama, not a country, he said the world is going to test Obama. <\/p>\n

If not for the United States, does Israel exist? If not for the United States, does Europe exist as we know it? If not for the United States, does Taiwan exist or North, South Korea, Colombia? The United States has created and maintained an umbrella of security around the world. Obama\u2019s viewed as somebody unwilling to maintain it. That\u2019s what Biden\u2019s telling us. Biden\u2019s telling us that the world has looked at Obama, new president, probably not going to be as vigilant in protecting allies as previous presidents have. If the United States is judged just to be a paper tiger, just watch what happens. Weakness invites aggression. And Biden, for all of the things he doesn\u2019t understand, at least got that one right. Obama will be tested by the world. But Israel will not see it as an Obama test. They\u2019re going to see it as their survival, and ditto a half dozen other countries on the low side. Vulnerable countries are not excited about Obama. They depend on a strong and committed United States to maintain the peace, and they\u2019re not going to have the confidence they can do that with Obama at the helm. Everybody knows Obama has no intention of maintaining peace through strength. If there\u2019s not peace, we don\u2019t have trading partners. Peace and a robust economy go hand in hand. But peace is not achieved through appeasement. Peace is not achieved through weakness. And Obama is viewed to be weak. That\u2019s what Biden\u2019s telling us, folks, with this promise, with this guarantee that we\u2019re going to be tested. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Hello, Rush. So, listening to Biden\u2019s comment about Senator Obama being tested if he\u2019s elected president, reminded me of a story you told many, many years ago. You were sort of a jaw dropper when you first showed up in syndication and you told a story about listening to President Kennedy\u2019s inaugural address with your grandfather, at the conclusion of which your grandfather turned to you and said, ‘Rush, this man\u2019s going to get us into a war.\u2019 And that\u2019s been much on my mind thinking Obama —<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, that\u2019s right, it was my dad, and I\u2019m nine years old during the 1960 campaign, and my dad was my dad, anybody who would listen he\u2019s telling us what he thought about Kennedy, bad news, horrible, can\u2019t afford this, you boys are going to be slaves. I\u2019m a little nine-year-old, ‘Daddy, what\u2019s so bad about Jack Kennedy?\u2019 He said, okay, he\u2019s got a nine-year-old son, he\u2019s gotta explain to me why he\u2019s so afraid. He said, ‘Son, I don\u2019t think he\u2019s a bad man but I think he\u2019s going to get us into a war, but not on purpose.\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: And he almost got us all turned into Keebler products in Cuba.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And then, you know, as much as Oliver Stone and the rest want to control the narrative, it was really JFK who made the commitments in Vietnam. I mean Lyndon certainly —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, exactly right. The best and brightest surrounding JFK that proceeded to run —<\/p>\n

CALLER: — government full of you know what, and they all thought it was going to be their great triumph, they were going to show the world.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right. And these are the smartest and best people that Obama is going to have around him, these same elites that think they know better about anything than anybody else.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And they\u2019re all cut from the same cloth. <\/p>\n

RUSH: And, by the way, what is transformational about having John Podesta, who was Clinton\u2019s chief of staff, run your transition team? What is transformational about having Laura D\u2019Andrea Tyson on your economic team?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Other concerns about Obama\u2019s side, I have two deep concerns. One of them is that concern, that he will have to show everybody how tough he is. And the other one, of course, is the courts. I just can\u2019t imagine —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, they\u2019re gone. Forget the courts. With Obama, the courts are gone, the courts are gone for two generations. Not just Supreme Court, the district courts, they are gone, folks, they\u2019re gone. I want to finish the story my dad told me. He said, ‘Son, I don\u2019t think he\u2019s going to start a war on purpose, JFK, but imagine if I got –‘ there was a lightbulb in our kitchen. He said, ‘Imagine if I got on a stepladder and started swinging the bat around. It would be a stupid thing to do because I might break the lightbulb, but not on purpose. You\u2019d never, ever, swing a bat near a lightbulb.\u2019 That was how he illustrated for me what he thought JFK\u2019s ineptitude would lead to, and that\u2019s what the caller was talking about. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
