RUSH: This is Duncan in Lincoln, Nebraska. Hi, Duncan. Nice to have you on the EIB Network, sir. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hello Rush. How are you doing today? It\u2019s an honor to talk to you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Great, sir. Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And the reason why I wanted to call in today was I\u2019m a student here at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and they just announced yesterday that they had invited William Ayers to come speak at the university. And, you know, I was pretty upset about that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes, I think it\u2019s November 15th, nine o\u2019clock in the morning. It\u2019s after the election.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, that\u2019s correct. But still, you know, I kind of feel like they\u2019re providing him a platform to spout his anti-American socialist agenda. I mean, he\u2019s an unrepentant terrorist and in my view he\u2019s no different than that Oklahoma City bomber, Timothy McVeigh. The only difference is Timothy McVeigh was caught and Ayers was acquitted.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ayers beat the rap. Yeah, Ayers beat the rap. That\u2019s not the important thing now. What\u2019s happening with Ayers is that the highfalutin members of academe all over the country are circling the wagons, just like they had at Duke University in Durham, all the faculty signed this thing condemning the lacrosse team and praising the lying-through-her-teeth rape victim. So now faculties across the country are circling the wagons to protect Ayers because Ayers is one of them. He is a huge leftist. He is a radical professor of education in Chicago. But it\u2019s more than that. What he has done… I mean, just two years ago he was down in Venezuela praising Hugo Chavez, a socialist dictator for his education policies. The education policies in Hugo Chavez\u2019s school are all about overthrowing capitalism and establishing the greatness and the brilliance of socialism in as much of the world as possible. That\u2019s what Ayers is doing. Ayers is devising curricula that is being used a lot of public schools around the country. He is advising and training teachers how to teach kids to be reactionaries, radicals; and not teaching them math, science, and all this sort of stuff. So he\u2019s being rewarded. He\u2019s being praised by other academics as they circle the wagons to try to protect him, sort of like when the media circled the wagons around Dan Rather after Rather made up the story about Bill Burkett and Bush\u2019s National Guard service. These people are holding together, and they\u2019re trying to protect one of their own.<\/p>\n

CALLER: This is the guy that they\u2019re inviting to come and speak, you know, and it\u2019s just… You know, a lot of people have outrage on that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: He\u2019s one of them. Look, I hate to tell you, Duncan, but he\u2019s one of them. They admire him. They respect him. They are trying to prop him up. This guy wrote glowingly of Ward Churchill, Bill Ayers did.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Mmm-hmm. Well, I just don\u2019t think that it\u2019s something that should be done, and a lot of people have called in and voiced outrage about that, too. Giving this guy a platform like that I don\u2019t think is a good idea at all.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, here\u2019s the thing about universities. I always believe, even though I did not like the campus. It just was not a place for me. Campi, too many people there conforming with everything. It\u2019s a factory.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You gotta conform. I felt like I was in prison any time I was in any classroom. But I always thought that college campi were supposed to be citadels for the free and open exchange of all ideas. Maybe in the past they have been, but they\u2019re no longer that. They are indoctrination centers for radical leftism. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Mmm-hmm.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So under normal circumstances, if they want to bring Bill Ayers in, let \u2019em bring him in. What will happen is if they tried to bring in, say, well, a well-known conservative academic, that\u2019s when the protests happen. That\u2019s when the students at the University of Nebraska will be ginned up and try to stop that person from speaking. I don\u2019t know that you\u2019re going to see too much of that with Ayers.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And I haven\u2019t heard anything about that, either —<\/p>\n

RUSH: No —<\/p>\n

CALLER: — as far as the students or anything like that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let\u2019s face it. Nine o\u2019clock in the morning, even in Lincoln the bars stay open late. There aren\u2019t going to be all that many people out of bed to go over there. Let me check the date. What was it? I\u2019ll find it real quick here what day of the week was. This is going to be crucial, in determining the presidency. Oh, hell, maybe I got the date wrong. The 15th is a Saturday. That can\u2019t possibly be. I think I got the date wrong. Do you know the exact date that he\u2019s coming in?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I don\u2019t. I don\u2019t. They just said that it was next month.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Maybe it\u2019s the 25th, which is a Tuesday. It can\u2019t be the 15th and that\u2019s a Saturday and Nebraska is playing football that day somewhere. So anyway, Duncan, I know some Nebraska alums and they are like you.
