RUSH: We\u2019re going to start with Ren. This is short for Katherine, I\u2019m told, in Atlanta. Hello, Ren.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey how are you, sir?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Fine, thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: My mom actually made me call. Actually no, she gave me the phone and told me to talk to you. So that\u2019s how it works, but I have a bit of a problem with Palin. I\u2019m totally for McCain. He\u2019s the most liberal Republican that we\u2019re going to get, but Palin on the other hand, I\u2019m not digging her, I\u2019m not — (unintelligible) turned down.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait, wait, wait a minute. Could you hold the phone a little further away from your mouth, because you sound a little bit distorted. What I picked up, you\u2019re for McCain because he\u2019s the most liberal Republican we\u2019re going to get, but Palin you\u2019re not digging here, you\u2019re not digging what she\u2019s putting out?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Correct.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You like liberal Republicans?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, yes, sir. I also like Obama, but I could vote for McCain. I\u2019m kind of undecided.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay, so Palin seems to be your stumbling block. What is your problem with Governor Palin?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I have a few stumbling — I have a few problems with her. My first one is the fact that she\u2019s killing all these wolves, but I have an environmental science major friend at college, and she says that this is destroying the ecosystem.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, Ren, in your own heart and mind, do you actually believe that?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I believe that animals — it\u2019s like a web, right? If you cut off one link, then the rest of it is going to fall apart.<\/p>\n

RUSH: In the first place, the reports of her killing wolves and animals have been exaggerated. She\u2019s a hunter. There are millions of hunters in this country and around the world. You know, animals have babies.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I know that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They grow up to become big animals.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I understand that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But the idea that we\u2019re going to destroy the environment by killing animals, the next thing we know we\u2019re going to destroy the environment by killing vegetables. Ren, seriously, you\u2019re being indoctrinated here by a college professor whose intentions I have no doubt she probably believes and are honest but it\u2019s really foolish and it\u2019s ridiculous. Do you eat beef?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Do you realize that the cattle industry kills more steers in a day than Sarah Palin has in her life? And when you went outside the last time was the sun shining?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, actually it was raining outside.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But it was light when it was supposed to be light?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And of course rain is good for plants and animals, they drink it and they grow and they replenish themselves. What\u2019s the temperature in Atlanta today?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I couldn\u2019t tell you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, is it hot or is it warm, is it cold —<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s warm. It\u2019s warm. <\/p>\n

RUSH: So the animals that Sarah Palin\u2019s killing have not caused temperatures to plunge where you live, you\u2019re getting needed rain —<\/p>\n

CALLER: What about the polar ice caps, though?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Georgia\u2019s been in a drought so you\u2019re getting needed rain in Atlanta, you admit that you eat beef. Do you eat vegetables, which are just plants?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But my point is, I\u2019m not concerned — I mean —<\/p>\n

RUSH: You mentioned the polar ice caps. The polar ice caps are growing. We got a report yesterday that two glaciers in Alaska are larger than they\u2019ve been in years, and the meteorologists say it\u2019s the coldest winter. But you\u2019re being sold a bill of goods on a political agenda, Ren. Start thinking for yourself and use common sense. The bottom line is you and I could not destroy, nor could Sarah Palin, the ecosystem of the planet if we tried. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
