RUSH: This is the kind story you\u2019d expect from New York or Los Angeles, but it\u2019s happening in Dallas, Texas.<\/p>\n
The newly elected Dallas County District Attorney, a guy named John Creuzot, has instituted a new policy. His office, the D.A., will no longer prosecute \u201ctheft of necessary items\u201d valued up to 750 bucks.<\/p>\n
By necessary items, the D.A. means consumable goods like food, baby formula, abortion products and other products people need to live.<\/p>\n

Creuzot says \u201ccriminalizing poverty\u201d isn\u2019t good for the community\u2019s health and safety. So he\u2019s not gonna go after people who steal personal items under 750 dollars unless there\u2019s evidence that the theft was for economic gain.<\/p>\n
So, I know you\u2019re not believing this, let\u2019s summarize. The Dallas D.A. thinks prosecuting theft is prosecuting poverty. So he\u2019s not going to do it anymore.<\/p>\n
Now you can bet every Dallas criminal is a grateful criminal. They know they can rob a business of 750-dollars\u2019 worth of consumable goods and walk away scot free. Even if they\u2019re caught, all they have to do is claim poverty and need.<\/p>\n
