President Trump was not happy about it. I have a couple sound bites. The first one here, Martha MacCallum is talking to Bernie about his Medicare for all plan and how it\u2019s gonna be free! The question: &#8220;My question to you, [Crazy Bernie], is Medicare for all will drive up taxes to pay for health care whether it\u2019s in your income tax or your payroll tax, right?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-306389\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/APP-041619-Bernie-Sanders-.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/APP-041619-Bernie-Sanders-.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/APP-041619-Bernie-Sanders--300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/>SANDERS: Health care is not free!<\/p>\n<p>MACCALLUM: Of course not!<\/p>\n<p>SANDERS: You never heard me say that we\u2019re gonna magically &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>MACCALLUM: You just said it was gonna be &#8220;free&#8221; for everyone.<\/p>\n<p>SANDERS: It\u2019s gonna be free at the point of when you use it. Okay? Family of four. Do you know how much that family is paying today for health care? $28,000 a year.<\/p>\n<p>MACCALLUM: Okay.<\/p>\n<p>SANDERS: All right? We\u2019re spending $11,000 per person. We are saying to that family of four, &#8220;You ain\u2019t gonna pay that $28,000. You\u2019re not paying any more premiums. You\u2019re not paying any more copayments. You\u2019re not paying any more deductibles.&#8221; How\u2019s that?<\/p>\n<p>MACCALLUM: Yeah!<\/p>\n<p>SANDERS: $28,000, you\u2019re not paying. But does that mean you\u2019re not gonna pay something? Of course it doesn\u2019t. You\u2019re gonna pay more in taxes.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/p4ozAACcc8I\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Right. (laughing) It\u2019s not gonna be free. It\u2019s like I\u2019m gonna take you on a cruise, and the cost of the cruise is $10,000, but it\u2019s not gonna cost you a thing when you\u2019re on the cruise. &#8220;Really? Where do I sign up?&#8221; &#8220;Well, you give me a check for $10,000 right now. But when you get on the ship, nothing\u2019s gonna cost you anything.&#8221; &#8220;Wow! What a deal!&#8221; So Crazy Bernie admits that taxes are going up and it\u2019s gonna be an illusion that your health care is free.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019re just not gonna pay at the point of sale or point of usage. An audience member (back to sound bite 7 here) asked (summarized), &#8220;Crazy Bernie, now that your tax returns have been released and you\u2019ve been identified as a millionaire in the top 1%, will you pay your fair share? And how do you plan to apply the policies that you\u2019ve been talking about enforcing on top earners?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>SANDERS: You raise the issue I am a millionaire. Well, actually this year we had $560,000 in income, and that\u2019s a lot of money and that money &#8212; in my case and my wife\u2019s case, it came from a book that I wrote. Pretty good book. You might want to read it.<\/p>\n<p>FOLLOWERS: (laughter)<\/p>\n<p>SANDERS: It\u2019s a best-seller, sold all over the world, and we made money.<\/p>\n<p>FOLLOWERS: (smattering of applause)<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hSnxuzDm7C0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>SANDERS: So if anyone thinks that I should apologize for writing a best-selling book, I\u2019m sorry, I\u2019m not gonna do it. I guess the president watches your network a little bit, right?<\/p>\n<p>FOLLOWERS: (laughter)<\/p>\n<p>SANDERS: Hey, President Trump, my wife and I just released 10 years.
