RUSH: So now the question of rebuilding it. We can rebuild it. Humanity can rebuild it. And I\u2019m sure computer technology graphics will be used to try to replicate as much of the original structure as possible.<\/p>\n

\"\"You know it had not even been renovated with sprinklers or fire retardant systems at all. It had just been allowed to exist as it was built, which no comment on that. I\u2019m just providing you information. But there is a story here from Reuters in London. \u201cNotre-Dame Will Reign Magnificent Again, Say Windsor Castle Restorers<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

If there\u2019s a lesson to all this, the 1992 fire at Windsor Castle. I had forgotten about that until I read this. Windsor Castle is the queen\u2019s favorite castle. She likes it better than Buckingham Castle. I mean, she likes to go to Balmoral in Scotland, get away from the city, but Windsor Castle is her favorite, I\u2019m told. It\u2019s one of the jewels of gothic cathedral architecture. And it was founded by William the Conqueror in the eleventh century.<\/p>\n

It survived centuries of England\u2019s bloody history. It passed through World War II unscathed. But a fire broke out in Queen Victoria\u2019s private chapel on November 20th, 1992. Francis Maude, an architect at Donald Insall Associates which led the restoration of Windsor Castle, says, \u201cWe shall see Notre-Dame magnificent again.\u201d He\u2019s now working on restoring the parliamentary Palace of Westminster in London. He said, \u201cThe French can be reassured that it can certainly be done. We would be more than ready to help.\u201d<\/p>\n

It cost 37 million pounds, or $48 million to restore and repair Windsor Castle. The rubble was sifted to see which of the bits of the masonry, ceiling timber, plaster, or glass could be salvaged and incorporated into the restoration. A guy said that \u201cFrance would have an easier time than Britain finding the skilled craftsmen for the job, because it could draw on the Compagnons du Tour, made up of thousands of highly skilled craftsmen in traditional construction.\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s gonna be a big deal, by the way. The technology available at the time of the original construction, the type of craftsmanship necessary is in short supply today because things have been modernized so much. He said, \u201cThe roof I\u2019m assuming is oak and there\u2019s plenty of oak available, including sessile oak which is long, straight-stemmed oak trees \u2013” The problem\u2019s gonna be will the environmentalist wackos let anybody go cut down the trees to rebuild the roof.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi. Thank you for taking my call. I was watching yesterday, as everybody else was, the burning of the cathedral in Paris, Notre Dame Cathedral. As a Catholic, I was very, very saddened to see that. But this morning, I was looking at the pictures of the aftermath. I don\u2019t know. Did you see the picture of the cross?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I did. I did. And the stained glass. Some of the stained glass looks undamaged. It looks untouched. It\u2019s amazing. But, yes, I saw the picture of the cross.<\/p>\n

CALLER: When I saw the picture of the cross, I was so encouraged, because it was saying to me, “You can burn down everything around me –”<\/p>\n

RUSH: But white nationalism survives. Yes.<\/p>\n

\"\"CALLER: “– but I\u2019m still standing strong and shining and I\u2019m the focus.” I mean, everything —<\/p>\n

RUSH: I think you have every right to feel that way. I think it\u2019s a touching, symbolic realization. It hit me the same way that it hit you. I\u2019m glad that you called, Camille. Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, Rush, can I bestow a title on to you? You\u2019re a great disseminator. You can take these facts and these events and distill them and boil it down so lesser minds can understand it like mine.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uh, well… Ahem. Yeah. We make the complex understandable here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I have two questions I guess so to throw at you. One is I wonder how many of these construction workers in France are actually French construction workers. I wonder how many of them are unassimilated workers that they have imported because they don\u2019t want to do it, who don\u2019t give a darn about the project that they\u2019re working on. How easy, stealthily it would be to create a terrorist act and blame it on an accident.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a minute. What are you suggesting here?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh-ho-ho. (laughing) I\u2019m sure you can understand what I\u2019m saying, even though I may not be explaining it a hundred percent clearly.<\/p>\n

\"\"RUSH: Well, no. Are you talking about the eventual repair work, the French are not gonna be able to find enough natives and they\u2019re gonna have to outsource it?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No. I\u2019m talking about the reconstruction work.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, okay. The reconstruction work. They\u2019re not gonna be able to find enough natives to do it, so gonna have to outsource it. In the process, you\u2019re gonna be outsourcing to a bunch of terrorists, they\u2019re gonna sabotage the rebuilding? Is that what you\u2019re saying could happen?<\/p>\n

CALLER: It — it — it… Not the rebuilding. The actual construction that was going on that caused the fire.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh, yeah, yeah. Okay. Okay.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I mean, really. I mean, do we know…? I would love to see… Put it this way. With red-blooded American workers, union workers, that would… It wouldn\u2019t even be a question. I think they would take such pride in the project that they\u2019re working on that could never happen here. But French —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I wouldn\u2019t be so sure. (laughing) Maybe now. Maybe now with Trump having revitalized the trade union. Okay. I get the drift. I get the drift. The French have outsourced so much that how do we even know the credibility, honesty of the people who are working on the construction project? We just don\u2019t know.
