RUSH: To Clinton, Tennessee. This is Heather, and welcome to the EIB Network. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you very much. I\u2019ll get right to my point. What scares me the most, Rush — as a mother trying to raise four responsible children — is along with the cost of this liberal agenda, people have forgotten, I\u2019m afraid, what it means to live in a free country.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, there\u2019s a solution here. Raise your kids to be irresponsible. The government is going to take care of them now.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It honestly scares me to death. With freedom, Rush, comes responsibility, and these liberals with their programs — and I have been browbeating this for my whole adult life — and I\u2019m 38 so, I\u2019ve got a little bit of experience under my belt. But the programs strip people of responsibility. They don\u2019t work, and you brought up today Katrina. You know, I love to point to that one as just like prime example. And then of course what we\u2019re going through right now. I mean, a little struggle under your belt is not bad. It builds strength and character and… ugh! (laughs) I\u2019ll let you speak now.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re exactly right. Philosophically, you are dead right. There\u2019s nothing I can add to it. The problem is that we have a political party who is doing just the opposite of that: trying to create as much irresponsibility, lack of accountability, no ambition. They\u2019re destroying people\u2019s lives. They\u2019re robbing them of the opportunity to use the freedom and the prosperity this country offers to make something of themselves, and the Democrat Party and liberalism in general is turning them into waifs! They\u2019re turning them into serfs —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes! Yes!<\/p>\n

RUSH: — dependent serfs who are never going to meet anywhere near their full potential. It\u2019s really sad to see what is happening, but it\u2019s all being done by people who claim to care about people, that care about the little guy. They\u2019re destroying them, all for the sake of their votes. Obama, let me tell you what all this foreign money is about. It\u2019s called ACORN. It\u2019s called walking-around money on Election Day. It\u2019s called get-out-the-vote. It\u2019s called all kinds of stuff. It\u2019s unaccountable. It\u2019s the kind of money Al Sharpton likes and so forth. There\u2019s a war for the soul of America going on, and one side doesn\u2019t understand the gravity of it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, they don\u2019t. And you talk about the foreign monies, and I understand we have to keep good diplomacy with our foreign countries, but I sat down with a World War II veteran at a Boy Scout fundraiser about a year ago. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah? Yeah?<\/p>\n

CALLER: His mother was from France; his father was from Italy. He was raised in the United States. He fought in World War II, in Italy. And I asked him about his mother\u2019s side. I said, ‘Why is it…?\u2019 and this is after the French send us (unintelligible) after Katrina. I said, ‘Why is it the French hate us so much?\u2019 and he replied, ‘They\u2019re jealous. They\u2019re not free.\u2019 Why are we comparing ourselves to this?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, we\u2019re comparing ourselves… We\u2019re not comparing ourselves! The liberal Democrats are comparing us to the French, and they love the French government — I don\u2019t know if they\u2019re crazy about it under Sarkozy, but prior to that — \u2019cause it was socialist! Pure and simple. Thanks very much, Heather. I appreciate the phone call. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, and so awesome to talk to you. Thank you so much.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes. Yes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I want to say mega infinity dittos. You just don\u2019t know how you made my day.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Appreciate that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I just wanted to say I\u2019m one of the ones out there, I\u2019m ready to go, I\u2019m ready to fight, I\u2019m ready to sign up and enlist in the political battle. I am so tired, I am so tired of being run over, and the conservatives, maybe slash Republicans, are so good at militarily fighting wars and trying to get them before they get us, but when it comes to the political battle, you know, I just don\u2019t get it. But they need to do it, it\u2019s for the best for the country that they need to go ahead and just tell it like it is, tell the truth, it\u2019s best for the country. It\u2019s best for America, and if they really love this country, and they have passion for it, that\u2019s what they\u2019re going to do, for us.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Meaning —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Go out there and spill it with Barney —<\/p>\n

RUSH: — Republicans and so forth?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: They need to go spill it with Barney Frank and the whole, you know, shenanigans going on there —<\/p>\n

RUSH: I agree, I agree, but the guy that has to do it is McCain.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It is, I know it is, it is him, and it\u2019s frustrating to me.<\/p>\n

RUSH: If McCain\u2019s not even —<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s frustrating!<\/p>\n

RUSH: If he\u2019s not even going to realize that a moderator of a debate tomorrow night who stands to make a lot of money if her candidate wins the debate, Barack Obama, if the moderator of this debate tomorrow night, if he doesn\u2019t understand that she hates Sarah Palin and is right now conniving questions and so forth to embarrass Palin and end this campaign, if he\u2019s not willing to acknowledge that… Now, he doesn\u2019t have to say that publicly, but I know he said publicly she\u2019ll be fair, she\u2019ll be scrupulous.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s frustrating, and it\u2019s discouraging, it\u2019s so discouraging, because people are so out there ready.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m going to have to stop talking about it too because —<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m ready to be on board. I\u2019m ready. I\u2019m on fire. I\u2019m ready to be on board and maybe here —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Go do it. I\u2019m just saying, the McCain campaign is such, the more I suggest things, the more they won\u2019t do it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, no.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, it\u2019s true. It\u2019s true.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s not good.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I need to change my tactics. I need to start advising Senator McCain to do stupid things and then he\u2019ll do the opposite and it may help.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Or just go ahead and pass him notes and the teacher won\u2019t see.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re right. All right, well, look. I appreciate the call, Sharon.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, thank you so much. It\u2019s a pleasure and an honor.<\/p>\n

RUSH: By the way, I\u2019m not trying to dispirit you. I want you to stay revved up.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh I\u2019m going to stay revved up. The other is too scary. I am so scared to death, I\u2019m a military wife, mom of four, and —<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s people like you that are going to take this energy and show up on Election Day and confound every turnout effort of the Democrats.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, I\u2019m excited.<\/p>\n
