CALLER: Hi, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: How are you?<\/p>\n

CALLER: (Unintelligible) caller dittos, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you very much, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I saw Barbara Boxer on Fox this morning talk about McCain suspending his campaign.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And she\u2019s mouthing the Obama line about how presidents should be able to do more than one thing at a time, and I was just wondering: How many times have I heard Democrats — Michael Moore, whoever — complaining about how Bush, you know, took seven minutes to read My Pet Goat on the morning of 9-1-1?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, yeah, he ‘fled Washington,\u2019 fled Washington and stayed aboard Air Force One because he was a coward.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly. How many times, you know, do they keep a running tally of how much time he spent in Crawford?<\/p>\n

RUSH: No. Look. I understand how this frustrates you, but I\u2019m going to try to give you an illustration.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Tell me, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I had a guy from Sioux City, Iowa, call. Did you happen to hear that yesterday?<\/p>\n

CALLER: As a matter of fact I didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right. Well, what it was, there was a story in the New York Times yesterday, which was a fabricated, 100% lie, saying that Rick Davis of McCain\u2019s campaign staff was being paid by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, yes. I did. I did hear it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay. The McCain camp issued a refutation denying it, factually, every which way but Sunday. So the guy calls up, and he starts quoting the article to me. No, he didn\u2019t quote the article. He starts telling me, ‘Hey, this looks really bad. You got McCain\u2019s guy.\u2019 I said, ‘No, no. Here are the facts.\u2019 I gave him the facts. It didn\u2019t matter.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s like do you ever go to one of these batting machines?<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) Not this week.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They just keep throwing baseballs at you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Or how about, if you play tennis, and these things just keep launching tennis balls at you, no matter what you do. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Uh-huh. Doesn\u2019t matter.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You could knock the ball out of the park and the stupid machine\u2019s going to throw another one. That\u2019s what liberals do. It doesn\u2019t matter what you do with their pitch. It doesn\u2019t matter. They\u2019re just going to keep launching them. So when you start refuting Barbara Boxer, I guarantee you, this is the mantra: ‘Presidents have to be able to do more than one thing at a time, or have to be able to do two things at a time.\u2019 Mike, sound bite 1 has the montage of the Drive-By Media talking about this being a ‘Hail Mary.\u2019 Here. We\u2019ve got another montage of how the media got together and decided how to describe McCain\u2019s announcement of suspending his campaign.<\/p>\n

BROWN: … a smart move or maybe a Hail Mary pass on his part.<\/p>\n
