I appreciate it tremendously. Rush, I\u2019ve got a theory going on right now, and I\u2019m pretty sure that the Jussie Smollett thing is a setup. It\u2019s so that you\u2019ll have Trump\u2019s Justice Department against Jussie being, of course, you know, a gay American and also a black American. And I think that what they\u2019re trying to do is they\u2019re trying to do a separation with all of the black community that Trump has actually been able to bring into the fold. And I think that there\u2019s a way to stop it is not to investigate Jussie Smollett but it\u2019s to go ahead and investigate Kim Foxx. And this way we can stay away from that Jussie Smollett thing they\u2019re trying to set us up on.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Okay. Let me see if I understand. You think that the Smollett thing was a setup to pit Smollett, who\u2019s gay and African-American, against the white nationalist Trump, and then if Trump then again engages Smollett, that\u2019s supposed to make African-Americans who now like Trump abandon Trump because Trump\u2019s going after the black gay guy. So you think Trump should go after the black attorney rather than the black actor.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: I understand where you\u2019re going with that, but she\u2019s an authority figure, okay?<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: And so it\u2019s a little different, okay? I mean, that\u2019s just my take on it, and I think it\u2019s a setup so that basically what happens is it\u2019s Trump\u2019s Justice Department against Smollett, you know? I mean, \u2019cause I don\u2019t think &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: They can\u2019t &#8212; the Justice Department &#8212; the only thing you can do with Smollett is go on the mail fraud aspects because he mailed these phony hoax letters to himself, and that is the only thing in this that\u2019s federal. Since charges have essentially been dropped, I mean, they don\u2019t even want to get close to double jeopardy.<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t think they were ever intending to go after Smollett. The investigation, to the extent the FBI may do something, is gonna be of the entire process that took place in the state\u2019s attorneys office of Cook County. I don\u2019t believe that Smollett was ever gonna be Trump\u2019s target in terms of investigation. Now, when this whole thing\u2019s a setup, who we talking about? Remember a guy named Robert Creamer? Robert Creamer is the husband of congresswoman Jan Schakowsky of Illinois. You know what Robert Creamer was doing? Robert Creamer hired thugs to attend Trump rallies as Trump supporters who would then start beating people up.<\/p>\n<p>Robert Creamer had over 50 appearances in the Obama Oval Office during Obama\u2019s presidency. Robert Creamer was paid by entities related to Hillary Clinton to hire people to show up in Trump rallies as Trump supporters wearing the MAGA hats and start beating people up. And they were so successful that they got a Trump rally in Chicago postponed just on the threat that Trump supporters were gonna start beating people up and the cops said, \u201cWe\u2019re not sure we can keep control of it.\u201d So the Trump rally gets canceled.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hDc8PVCvfKs\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>So if the Democrats were willing to do that and more, if they\u2019re willing to rent mobs all over to join protests and start protests in places like Ferguson, Missouri, and Baltimore, then is it a stretch to think that maybe some leftist lunatic with a lot of money would concoct a scheme starring Jussie Smollett, who would love the publicity, who hates Trump, who would love to be part of a publicity stunt and hoax in which he supposedly gets beat up at 2:30 in the morning by a bunch of deranged Trump supporters.<\/p>\n<p>His producers at Empire say, \u201cMan, this guy must be bigger than we know. Of all the people on our cast that the Trump people are going after, Jussie? Wow, maybe we need to give Jussie more prominence.\u201d That\u2019s the way he\u2019s thinking about it. He wants more money out of the producers. And they approach him, \u201cYou want to get a raise? You gotta make yourself that much more important. Let us get you beat up out there by some Trump people, let\u2019s see what can happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The idea that this could have been structured is totally within the realm of possibility as I know and understand how Democrats operate today. Now, that\u2019s a far cry from saying it is what happened. But you can\u2019t just dismiss it. The Democrats are not the kind of people that sit around, \u201cGee, you know what? I really hope some Chicago actor gets beat up one morning. Wouldn\u2019t that be great if some Trump people start beating up on a black gay guy?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They\u2019re not gonna wait around for that to happen. If they think that there is political opportunity, they\u2019ll make it happen. Remember, these people are not steeped in reality. Their daily needs are fake news, a fake narrative. Facts and reality let them down too often. But whether or not any such allegation of a conspiratorial act will ever come forward, be proof for it, who knows. But just the idea that the Democrats are capable of it is possible? Totally, in my view.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Craig in Chicago. Great to have you, sir. I was listening to you earlier about the possibility of the Smollett thing being an actual staged event, and I think I could put a little meat on that bone for you. And I don\u2019t say I know this for a fact, but some of the coincidences are just too much to ignore.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Yes.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Given that Smollett is good friends with Kamala Harris, Obama, Valerie Jarrett, and so forth, actually Harris and Smollett are involved in a group called Time\u2019s Up, which is a group that serves, you know, oppressed minorities.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Right. Yo time is up, and then the sound of jail cells closing or something. Yeah, I\u2019m familiar with it.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: In December Kamala Harris introduced an anti-lynching bill in Congress that was pulled back. Smollett then becomes a victim of what?<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Well, yeah, there was a noose. There was a noose. They were gonna lynch him. Exactly right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That\u2019s the picture they tried to paint. That\u2019s right.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Not done yet. The Chicago prosecutor, Kim Foxx, considers Harris a mentor.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: She\u2019s on her Facebook page. They\u2019re very close.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Hang on. I misread the clock by one minute. Hang on. I\u2019ll hold you through the break here. Do not lose your train of thought. There will be a test. Take a brief time-out, and we will continue right after this.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: By the way, the people at WLS do not like me calling it the Big 89. That\u2019s what they called it back when I listened to it. (interruption) Oh, they brought back the Big 89? That\u2019s right. They did bring back the Big 89. Man, that was the radio station I wanted to work at when I was in my early twenties. That would have been nirvana. And now we own it. The Big 89, WLS Chicago. Okay, Craig. We\u2019re back to you in Chicago. We left off that Kim Foxx considered Kamala Harris one of her mentors &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: &#8212; and that Smollett is very much aware that Kamala Harris introduced a non-lynching bill as though there\u2019s lynching still happening, and then he does the little hoax deal complete with a noose. So keep your train of thought going here.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: And of course Harris is trying to launch her presidential campaign, get it kick started. And they all came out at the time it happened, \u201cThis is a modern-day lynching.\u201d I remember all the politicians on the left using that line. So the law is immediately passed on the 14th of February, unanimously; so it was reintroduced and it passes. Then the rumor starts circling shortly thereafter and you remember her bumbling, fumbling response when asked about it, she seemed shocked by it? Shortly thereafter the Time\u2019s Up president resigned, which I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s tied into that, and Kim Foxx supposedly, which we just find out yesterday, was supposed to recuse herself from this situation, which &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Oh, she did try to try to make it look like she recused herself, but she didn\u2019t. She pulled a hoax on everybody with that.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Yeah. I mean, I can\u2019t say for certain that this is the case, but there\u2019s enough strings here to start pulling on that I think a good investigative reporter maybe needs to start looking at or somebody &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: There aren\u2019t any anymore. There aren\u2019t any good investigative reporters. They\u2019re just &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Hannity has some decent people around him &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Well, okay. <a href=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/daily\/2019\/03\/28\/epic-rush-on-hannity\/\">Hannity,<\/a> yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I meant within the Drive-Bys. You\u2019re leaving one name out here because you &#8212; in fact, maybe more. Let\u2019s not forget the name Tina Tchen, the former chief of staff for Obama made phone calls to Kim Foxx. Tina Tchen &#8212; Michelle Obama, the Obamas somehow are linked in this, possibly, and people are saying what could they possibly benefit, how could they possibly benefit from being seen as being a part of this travesty?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-303926\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/APP-032619-Smollett-Michelle-Obama.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/APP-032619-Smollett-Michelle-Obama.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/APP-032619-Smollett-Michelle-Obama-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/>So people are maybe thinking maybe the Obamas don\u2019t have, but Michelle Obama and Tina Tchen have all kinds of close relationships with Kim Foxx. I also have a story here from the Western Journal. &#8220;Ex-Chicago Prosecutor Drops Smollett Bomb \u2013 Suspects VIP Implicated, Leaned on State To Keep Things Quiet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This is the famous Georgetown law professor Randy Barnett. Randy Barnett used to work as a prosecutor in Chicago. Now, he \u201csuggested in a tweet on Wednesday that someone very important and influential had most likely pulled strings with the prosecutors to not only allow Smollett to go free without any punishment but had also leaned on the state\u2019s attorney\u2019s office to cover everything up,\u201d i.e. seal the file, \u201cto prevent said important person from potentially being implicated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>His theory as a former prosecutor in this office is that there\u2019s some powerful figure out there somewhere who wanted this case dropped, who wanted Smollett walking free and did not want anybody to ever know who this VIP is.<\/p>\n<p>Randy Barnett, who really does have a great, great reputation within the legal community, tweeted, &#8220;None of this is normal \u2014 even for Crook County where I was an Assistant State\u2019s Attorney. Educated guess: this hoax implicated someone very important who had pull with the State\u2019s Attorney, and who very badly did not want to be implicated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So let\u2019s put this together here with old Craig. There\u2019s somebody here very important who had pull with the state attorney who does not want to be implicated. Okay. Could that be somebody who arranged this hoax? Remember the people that arranged this obviously thought it\u2019s a slam dunk. We\u2019re gonna get away with it. Remember these people believe the lies they tell each other.<\/p>\n<p>So somebody says, \u201cWe can score big. We can have this great young gay black actor get beat up. We\u2019ll say a couple of deranged Trump supporters did it. Nobody\u2019s gonna accuse him of lying, he\u2019s gay and black. Nobody\u2019s gonna accuse him of lying. The cops, the police superintendent is black, it\u2019s made to order, we\u2019re gonna get away with it, and we\u2019ll really impugn Trump, and we\u2019ll impugn Trump supporters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Well, it blew up. And Smollett wasn\u2019t able to bring it off and the hoax was discovered. And so Barnett\u2019s theory is that whoever concocted this at the beginning has the power to get it dropped because of a connection to Kim Foxx or somebody else who has connections to Kim Foxx. So now the gates are wide open to start speculating on who would be, could be this stated VP.<\/p>\n<p>Ben Marquis wrote the story about Randy Barnett\u2019s tweet here in the Western Journal and there\u2019s this pull quote: \u201cIn the end, we may never know if there was some very important person behind the scenes that pulled Foxx\u2019s strings with regard to Smollett, should the case remain closed and all files sealed.\u201d They\u2019re even saying that was an accident. Have you heard that? Ah, sealing the file was an inadvertent thing but you know once it\u2019s sealed, you just can\u2019t unseal it out there.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, given the fact that the FBI is reportedly now taking a close look at how the case was handled, there could very well be some VIPs sweating anxiously at the thought of being implicated in the cover-up of a hate crime hoax.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also being posited here that the powerful figure that Barnett\u2019s referring to, the VIP, might have gotten to Rahm Emanuel to change the direction of his anger. He starts out really ticked off at Smollett, sends Smollett a bill for $130,000, rips Smollett a new one. All of a sudden the next day it\u2019s Trump\u2019s fault. You know, I have to tell you, I was stunned. The show\u2019s on the air and Rahm is doing his press conference with the police superintendent, they\u2019re going after Smollett, said, \u201cThis doesn\u2019t makes sense. There\u2019s no way a ranking white Democrat mayor\u2019s gonna go after a black guy like this. They\u2019re just not gonna do it! It doesn\u2019t make any sense!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And Rahm\u2019s going about this in exactly the way that you would think a law and order person would. This is a bastardization of law and order. This is two-tier justice, somebody scams a system with a hoax getting away with it, and he\u2019s ripping into a young and handsome and virile black gay guy. You don\u2019t think Rahm Emanuel heard about that? Rahm, what the hell are you doing, dude? So the next day Rahm goes out there and all of a sudden now it\u2019s Trump\u2019s fault.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-300213\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/APP-021919-Smollett.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/APP-021919-Smollett.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/APP-021919-Smollett-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/>Now, the piece de resistance &#8212; ready for this? &#8212; I haven\u2019t heard an update on this. I heard this this morning, and I don\u2019t know that it\u2019s not still operative. Jussie Smollett has been nominated for an NAALCP Image Award. Now, on the one sense, it makes sense because Democrats fail up. Resume is enhanced as a Democrat by doing dumb, stupid things and getting caught. Failure is a resume enhancement of the Democrat side.<\/p>\n<p>But I\u2019ve still noticed that Jussie Smollett does not have the full-throated support of Democrats. He\u2019s got some of them. But there\u2019s still a lot of people that are really bent out of shape about this because it\u2019s not something that they could get.<\/p>\n<p>The NAACP is trying to follow the Obamas\u2019 lead. You think the NAALCP is doing this on its own? You want to talk about the presence of VIPs? You think somebody\u2019s calling the NAACP and saying, &#8220;You are going to give this guy an Image Award&#8221;? I mean, I use this all the time, but it\u2019s true. Dan Rather is exposed for a completely made-up hoax with forged documents suggesting George Bush evaded military service as a member of the Texas National Guard.<\/p>\n<p>The moment he\u2019s exposed as a peddler of forged documents, a new journalism award was created for him by Tom Brokaw and Peter Jennings &#8212; and a gigantic dinner to give him the award &#8212; because they had to save &#8220;journalism.&#8221; They had to save liberalism. They had to save Rather. So is there a gigantic VIP that\u2019s calling the NAALCP&#8230; Remember, Smollett did 18 hours of community service for the Reverend Jackson, and that\u2019s how he satisfied that requirement.<\/p>\n<p>You know, you go to work for that bunch, you learn how to shake down corporations. So the NAALCP, whether it\u2019s their own idea or somebody influencing them to do it, they\u2019ve now diminished themselves trying to reposition this guy as a victim! He is a wealthy, handsome, virile African-American gay guy, Hollywood actor. Everybody knows it. The victim card doesn\u2019t work, but they\u2019re trying it anyway &#8212; and, unlike Trump, Jussie has not been exonerated.<\/p>\n<p>The stench around this whole sordid tale is thick, and it reeks of fake. So Jussie Smollett, in the end, what has he done? Has he harmed Trump? Has he damaged Trump? Has he damaged the Republican Party as a bunch of racist pigs? Well, there aren\u2019t any Republicans in this story. This is Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>Jussie Smollett has advanced nothing other than corruption, and we will, in all likelihood, know more about it someday. I think we\u2019re gonna find out about this at some point. There are too many people whose noses are bent out of joint here who are being impugned. People that followed the letter of the law and did he went right are being contestant in negative lights, and some of them aren\u2019t gonna like this.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RUSH:  We will, in all likelihood, know more about it someday.
