We\u2019re mean now, but we\u2019re going to be meaner if we don\u2019t elect The Messiah. Now, who\u2019s &#8216;we\u2019? We may be passing on an America to our children that\u2019s less prosperous? It\u2019s a good question. Who is &#8216;we\u2019? Who the hell is he talking about? &#8216;We\u2019 may be passing on an America to our children that\u2019s less prosperous, maybe meaner and more divided than the country we inherited from our parents? You know, that is such hogwash anyway. I\u2019m 57 years old, I\u2019ve been paying attention to this stuff since I was nine years old. It was just as vicious during the Reagan years and it was<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td><paragraph xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\"><embed\/><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<p>just as vicious during the Reagan years and it was just as vicious aimed at Nixon. It was just as vicious aimed at George W. Bush. And who were the meanies? Who are the extremists? Who are the people trying to destroy other people\u2019s lives? We could ask Robert Bork about that. We could ask Justice Thomas about it. We could ask Sarah Palin about it. We could ask Miguel Estrada &#8212; I was going to say &#8216;Enchilada.\u2019 Miguel Estrada. I was just having a mental block. <\/p>\n<p>We could have any number of people whose lives have been targeted for destruction, who did all that? And then we could ask Democrat nominees for the Supreme Court or the federal courts, &#8216;Any Republicans try to destroy your life? Anybody on the Senate committee on the Republican side, Judiciary Committee try to destroy your life, besmirch your character?\u2019 It doesn\u2019t happen. So who is this &#8216;we,\u2019 Obama? By the way, this is not the first time Obama\u2019s used this line. And that two-minute ad, by the way, I don\u2019t even think those are Obama\u2019s words, I think David Axelrod wrote that, so we know what Axelrod thinks, not Obama. And this thing, he was in West Palm Beach, March 26, 2007, last year, not this year. &#8216;We have to recognize that if we don\u2019t make some fundamental changes right now, that we could be the first generation in a very long time that leaves an America behind that is a little poorer and a little meaner than the one we inherited from our parents, and that\u2019s unacceptable.\u2019 Six hundred supporters at a fundraiser in West Palm Beach. It\u2019s a stock line. &#8216;A little poorer, a little meaner.\u2019 Let\u2019s go back, a montage of Senator Obama and his wife Michelle Obama on the trail.<\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: They get bitter. They cling to guns or religion or antipathy towards people who aren\u2019t like them. <\/p>\n<p>MICHELLE OBAMA: Barack knows that there\u2019s a hole in our soul. <\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: I know my country has not perfected itself. <\/p>\n<p>MICHELLE OBAMA: It\u2019s easier to hold onto your own stereotypes and misconceptions. It makes you feel justified in your ignorance. That\u2019s America.<\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: We\u2019re confronting the history and stain of slavery in this country. We\u2019re confronting those scars. <\/p>\n<p>MICHELLE OBAMA: For the first time in my adult lifetime, I\u2019m really proud of my country.<\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: America is no longer what it could be, what it once was.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: So Obama continues the theme at his Hollywood fundraiser, $9 million last night ripping his own country, as he did in Berlin, as he has done throughout this campaign. And, by the way, this line from Michelle (My Belle) is just a rehash of Rosalynn Carter in 1980 running against Ronaldus Magnus. Michelle Obama says, &#8216;It\u2019s easier to hold onto your own stereotypes and misconceptions. It makes you feel justified in your ignorance. That\u2019s America.\u2019 She said of Ronald Reagan, &#8216;He makes Republicans feel comfortable with their prejudices.\u2019 So there\u2019s nothing new.
