RUSH: This next is unreal. Joe Biden was on the Today show talking to the hostette there, Meredith Vieira, who asked him, ‘What specifically will your tax plan do to boost the economy?\u2019<\/p>\n

BIDEN: Our tax plan would take that tax cut of another $130 billion that John wants to give to people making over $250,000 next year, not let it go forward and give it to the middle class, the very people who desperately need it to stay in their homes, to buy food, to take care of the gas to fill up their tank, to be able to go out and buy a toaster, to unemployed people.<\/p>\n

RUSH: To go out and buy a toaster! Joe Biden, Obama will give you a toaster! Along with a rice cooker left over from the supply in Cuba that Fidel Castro failed to give away to all of his people. Obama is going to give you a toaster. <\/p>\n

RUSH: This is Barbara Theaker, local supporter, said this about Sarah Palin. This is the woman introducing Biden.<\/p>\n

THEAKER: Barack Obama has made an intelligent choice for the vice presidency. How so very different this is from that bucket of fluff that the Republican candidates have chosen for the same position.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s an inspiring introduction for Joe Biden. That\u2019s Barbara Theaker, local supporter, ‘Barack Obama made an intelligent choice, very different from this bucket of fluff.\u2019 So the Biden response to this, by saying voters don\u2019t like Obama \u2019cause he\u2019s too smart.<\/p>\n

BIDEN: All this stuff about how different Barack Obama is, they\u2019re just not used to somebody really smart. (rimshot) They\u2019re just not used to somebody who\u2019s really well educated. (rimshot) They just don\u2019t know quite how to handle it, \u2019cause if he\u2019s as smart as Barack is, he mustn\u2019t be from my neighborhood. (rimshot)<\/p>\n

RUSH: What does that mean, not from my neighborhood? By the way, the latest I\u2019ve heard today is, that if you refer to Obama as flashy, you are a racist, that calling somebody flashy is racially denigrating. Yep. I don\u2019t know how, \u2019cause flashy is not defined that way anywhere you look at it, but that\u2019s happening. Okay, so Obama is too smart for people, he makes people nervous, obviously too clean, also. Obama just forgot to mention that. So Biden had to explain this this morning with Scarborough. Said, ‘Senator, when you said that Republicans weren\u2019t used to smart people being around them, were you talking specifically about the Republicans that voted for me in primary elections?\u2019<\/p>\n

BIDEN: It\u2019s amazing how the very people, Joe, who in fact were the ones that John McCain deplored in his 2000 primary race in South Carolina, the very race where I called him up when they attacked his character, and said, ‘John, where do you want me? I\u2019ll publicly testify for you.\u2019 These very people, some of them John\u2019s now hired and they\u2019re running his attack ads on television against Barack, misrepresenting Barack. (rimshot) And independent news organizations are saying it, not Joe Biden, (rimshot) and the point I was responding to is the misrepresentation that\u2019s going on about Barack Obama. (rimshot)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let me be very clear, Senator Biden. Senator Obama is an empty suit. The reports of his intelligence are vastly exaggerated. He may be educated, he may be a sponge, able to absorb all the drivel and bilge that\u2019s been fed to him over the course of the years of his life, but in terms of his being an independent thinker, I mean, Senator, when you have to take a teleprompter to a rodeo to make sure you stay on message, we\u2019re not talking about brains here. I long thought he\u2019s an empty suit. I\u2019m not talking about IQ. I\u2019m talking about right or wrong, common sense. I don\u2019t think this guy can go off message. Look at the Rick Warren Saddleback place. He just can\u2019t talk about things unless they\u2019re written down for him, unless he\u2019s been prepped and reviewed and rehearsed and so forth. It\u2019s obvious. By the way, the Drive-Bys are now trying to cover up for Biden and this instance in Columbia, Missouri, with the senator who was in the wheelchair. Last night on CNN\u2019s Anderson Cooper, this is a portion of Joe Johns\u2019 report on Biden\u2019s gaffe.<\/p>\n

JOHNS: He is a master of the quick recovery, even after making you cringe. Like recently, when he told a man in a wheelchair to stand up.<\/p>\n

BIDEN: Chuck, stand up, Chuck. Let \u2019em see you. Oh, God love you. What am I talking about?<\/p>\n

RUSH: He\u2019s a master of the quick recovery, Joe Biden, wow, we just love the guy, we just love the guy. Here\u2019s the whole thing again. <\/p>\n

BIDEN: Uh, uh, Chuck Graham, state senator is here. Stand up, Chuck, let \u2019em see ya. (rimshot) Oh, God love ya. What am I talking about? (rimshot) I tell you what, you\u2019re making everybody else stand up though, pal. (rimshot) I tell you what, stand up for Chuck! (rimshot)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Stand up for Chuck! And he walks over to Chuck and says, ‘Can you tell I\u2019m new at this?\u2019 So the Drive-Bys are circling the wagons to protect Biden.
