CALLER: First of all, congratulations on your 20th anniversary and may the next 20 years be as rewarding for you as the last 20 have been for us.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir, very much. Appreciate that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Our pleasure. Rush, I\u2019m not a conspiracy theorist like Oliver Stone, but I also believe in the analogy that where there\u2019s smoke, there\u2019s fire, and I\u2019m just wondering how many gaffes that Obama is going to have make before we know his true religious leanings. I\u2019m going to refer to 57 states, okay, several months ago when he made reference to visiting 57 states, I Google 57 and up comes the 57 Muslim states. And then the other night we were watching Fox, and they showed an excerpt of George Stenophoulos\u2019s (sic) interview with Obama when he said, ‘My Muslim faith.\u2019 Well, Rush, I\u2019ll tell you what, I came right out of the chair, and I never heard what George Stenophoulos said in response to that until I was listening to your program yesterday. In fact, I had called in and was listening to it when my cell phone went dead, but that\u2019s another story. And I learned that Stenophoulos was the one that said Christian, and Obama —<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s right. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: George Stenophoulos corrected, ‘No, no, your Christian faith.\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, your Christian faith.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (doing Obama impression) ‘Christian faith, that\u2019s right, Barack Obama.\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: My Christian faith.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: So I\u2019m wondering how long do we have to go before we really know. Now, Rush, this is also an opinion. Some of my friends think I\u2019m a little wacky in this regard. I don\u2019t believe for a second that he could have been elected as a US senator if his faith was that of Muslim, especially following 9\/11. He may have been elected as a state senator —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, wait a minute.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: He hasn\u2019t been spotted in a mosque. He\u2019s been going to Jeremiah Wright\u2019s little hellhole up there in Chicago where they preach a bunch of hatred and stuff, but it\u2019s not a mosque.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, no, I understand. What I\u2019m saying is I don\u2019t think 20 years ago, whenever he became a Christian, when he decided, I think that\u2019s when he decided to get into politics, and the thinking was, he could not get anywhere in politics if he were a Muslim versus a Christian. And I\u2019m just wondering what his true religious leanings are, all right? He gives his eloquent speeches in 2002 —<\/p>\n

RUSH: What does it matter to you in the sense he might be lying about it?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I just think he — I don\u2019t know lying or hiding his true feelings.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you know, there\u2019s a lot of stuff circling around the Internet about this, how people have been trying to peg this down and so forth. The last one I saw was some sort of a document from a school in Africa where he was known as Barry Sotero and was enrolled as a Muslim at this particular school, but I don\u2019t know what to make of this stuff. There are people out there trying to make these connections. He did say ‘Muslim faith.\u2019 And of course we had the story yesterday that Moammar Khadafy, earlier this summer, made a speech saying that he\u2019s a Muslim. Then I know the 57 angle, 57 Muslim states, and he thinks he\u2019s visited all 57 states in the United States. Stenophoulos pulled him out of the fire yesterday. Can you imagine if Stenophoulos hadn\u2019t corrected that? Seriously, folks, stop and think about that. If Stenophoulos had not corrected, that line would have lived in infamy now and Barack Obama would have had to correct it. Look, Vincent, I\u2019m glad you called.
